Anyone get pregnant on their own after treatments?

Post by almondeyes26 »

Hi,

I was curios if anyone has ever gotten pregnant on their own after needing treatments for their first or knows anyone that has. I am 3 days late and having brown discharge and wondering if I could be pregnant. I really thought it would be impossible but I guess nothing is ever impossible. Any thoughts? :?

We are living proof it can happen! We had been seriously trying for 5 years and had an ectopic naturally that led to tube removal and only one bad tube left. So, needless to say IVF brought us our 16 month old twins. Well, I am now 14.5 weeks pg with a singleton.

Dh and I have been together since the high school and I have NEVER been on the pill and to never have been pg was a warning that something was wrong to begin with. But here we are an almost family of five!

Sometimes the meds can jump start your system into doing what it wasn't sure how to do. My eggs weren't maturing before either and now they obviously got to work!

Good luck!

my 3rd was a VERY happy surprise... we 1st tried for 4 years, then used many other fertility treatments, and only got preggo with IVF.. for the 2nd went straight to IVF... after our 2nd.. we tried ivf for a 3rd with no luck, we gave up and thought that God gave us two healthy boys.. i was given LESS then a 5% chance on our own, ever... and our little miracle was conceived with nothing... now we are happy to have 3 little boys...

good luck...

Thank You Ladies!

I'm deciding when would be a good time to take a home pregnancy test. It's a little earlier than I planned but I had planned on trying again within the next few months. My son would be 18 months if it happened now, a little young but I'm sure I can mange! I just really thought it would take forever and I totally expected to have to go back to the Infertility Doctor. I'd love anymore stories!

Im another one who had a natural pregnancy after IVF(ICSI). My son is now 3 months old. My husband was infertile due to chemotherapy, I dont think his counts ever went above 2 million!

I remember realising I was a week late and started getting AF type pains (Just as I had when early pregnant with my daughter). I was sat crying on the stairs telling my husband that there must be something really wrong because there was no way of course I could be pregnant! I did a test the next day, on my daughter's 2nd birthday. I couldnt stop smiling all day!

Another reason I didnt think I would ever get pregnant naturally - My husbands sperm count was so bad before our treatment, they said they would definately have to use sperm frozen prior to his chemo. They then did half IVF and half ICSI. NONE of the 6 IVF fertilised!!

Sorry for waffling, but Im still amazed that I have my beautiful son here and just wanted to say anything is possible! There are quite a few ladies on here who have got pregnant naturally after treatment. I hope your test is positive - good luck!

Love Kim

Well AF arrived this morning :( even thought I didn't think this was the "perfect" timing for baby #2 I was slightly disappointed this morning. I guess I'm just scared we'll have to go through it all over again. I had uterine polyps and had surgery about a year and a half ago. I got pregnant right after that. I'm wondering if they are back. We weren't sure if that's what was causing us so many problems getting pregnant. I did 3 rounds of IUI with injectables and the 3rd one worked 1 month after my surgery. Thanks for all the stories and wish me luck! :D

Hi all

I know this thread is quite old but I thought I wld add my story - I did a combination of IVF & FET 5 times before concieving my little boy - I had completely blocked fallopian tubes and was told I would not be able to concieve naturally. However had just started trying for another baby and was mid way through a FET cycle when I discovered I was pregnant naturally - sadly I lost this baby shortly after findingout I was pregnant. I then go pregnant again - naturally!! two months later but when I went for my 12week scan was told that this baby too had died. I was absolutley devastated of course. I decided to have another HSG to see what was going on with my tubes and the hospital found that they were completely clear !! Totally miraculous. Thye told me to carry on trying on my own and I got pregnant again 4 months later and now have a beautiful baby girl - born 30th Dec 2008. So I have been pregnant 3 times since my IVF treatment. I have 4 embryos frozen which I plan to use when my little girl is one. I hope this gives anyone who is keeping their fingers crossed hope! love Vicky

For this, you can take home pregnancy test to confirm that you are pregnant or not. You can also go the doc or take some test for this.Sometimes things happen which can be surprised or can say gift by God for us.Miracles happen every day.Be positive and keep faith in God.
