Annie~Congrats on the twins. It is so exciting. I had m/s all day long from about 5-13 weeks. I think all people handle it differently. the only thing that helped me was eating constantly...just small snacks.

Courtney~ Congrats on your new twins. We did babywise from the beginning for the most part. COming out of the NICU they already were on a 3 hour schedule which we stuck with. At around 6-7 weeks they started being more awake. I think right now would be a bit soon for wake time. But it is always worth trying. Even 5-10 minutes may help. But defintely stick to a schedule.....it helps. My 9 month olds go to bed at 7 pm and wake up at 7:30 am so it will get better!!!

Suga~ It defintely sounds like the reflux. And that is the exact same thing that happened to us. They were doing 4 oz feedings and then all of a sudden back to 1-2 oz. And they increased the dose and it helped. Good luck.

Is everyone staying at home or working( not like staying at home isnt work)

Alright ladies. . . HOLY COW! Busy day! There are days when our twin page has nothing but look at this! Love all the new stories and I am officially becoming a blog stalker so I love when someone joins with a blog as well. Can't get enough baby photos and other blogs give me so many ideas as to what I can do with my own kids.

Jade~ Our babies were almost the EXACT same weight at the same age only my boy is the small one here and he was a few oz. bigger but that's it. They get weighed on Tuesday but at their one year he was 17.8 and she was 19.5 lbs. I don't think they have gained much and mine are sooooooo active that it's hard to keep lbs. on even though they eat like champs. Our babies even sleep the same! 7-7 here and mine have done it all the way thru since they started. It's the best gift they will ever give me! Other than the adorable hand ornaments out of clay in kindergarten!
Also, I'm at home. Like you said it's work for sure but I hope to not start my business back up until after the 3rd baby hits pre-k or soon there after. How about you? Did I see you are in Utah?

Suga~ Sounds like your Dr. could work on his listening skills. :( Sorry he didn't leave you feeling like the appointment was a success. We have been so fortunate and I am in LOVE with my Pediatrician. I look forward to seeing this older, cooky, hawaiin shirt-wearing, opera lovin', baby obsessed man. Dh and I just get a kick out of him and he's like a crazy scientist as well who always has time to listen. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you get to your favorite Dr. soon!

Courtney~ Welcome aboard! When I get off of here I am running straight over to your blog! I have one as well and I think it's listed under my posts. (shows you what I know!) Nice job on 37+5 weeks. :D That's fabulous! I did babywise as well. The 3 hour schedule was great and mine were already on it as well after a 16 day stay in the NICU so that made it easier for me. As far as waketime, I did it from day one. If they fell asleep I just kept reading to them. Reading was really all I did in the NICU and early early on other than some dancing. Mine were 6 weeks early but between 2 and 3 weeks we tracked objects and such in an attempt to have a little stimulation as well. Not much of anything and they often fell asleep but I felt productive and like I was being a good mommy with them so maybe it was more for me. :? When mine started staying awake more they became so much fun. I bet it's right around the corner for you! Adorable names as well!!!!!!

Annie~ Congratulations on twins! You have come to the right place for sure! With all these mommies here you are bound to get some info that will help. I was super lucky and didn't have symptoms but then again I was worried because I didn't so I'm not sure which one is better?? Also, I was a very late showing as well. My kids were really sweet and stayed compact for me no matter what I ate. Again though, it worried me. I kind of had a problem gaining weight. 3500 calories a day and I could barely add a lb here and there even on hospital bed rest. This time around I am not quite so lucky!   The lbs. LOVE me! I think I cursed myself! Good luck! Are you going to find out what you are having?

The babies and I did a ton of errands today and now they are melting down so I better run. They love the bank of all places like nobodies business. Go figure!

Have a great night everyone!

Annie: I barely looked pregnant when I delivered. I just have a long torso so it was barely there. I just kinda look pregnant with a singleton. I also lost weight when I was pregnant cause I was never hungry. Still at almost 31 weeks they were 2 lbs 12 oz and 3 lbs 3 oz.

Mackenzie ate!!! lol. She ate prunes like a champ! She chewed and swallowed!!! Brooke just spit them out though. Tomorrow I will mix them in cereal to hide the taste a bit for Brooke. But I think they are maybe gearing up to be ready for solids! woohoo! Maybe they will sleep the night now?! lol I must be dreaming!

Thanks twin veterans for the Babywise advice! It sure does help to have input! I think I will try just 5-10 minutes...right now I feel like I am just in survival mode...dreaming of jade1's 12 hour sleeping babies!!

Suga...congrats on the prune juice. I have read back on your obstacles with eating. You are such a trooper and an awesome mommy!

kholtan...Your kiddos are so freaking cute!!! I just want to pinch their cheeks!! Speaking of where we live...right now we are in Memphis, TN and next Wednesday we are moving three hours away to Nashville. I think I have lost my mind! Our house had been on the market for 6 months and we were sure it wouldnt sell during the holidays. Well, we were wrong!! We closed on our house last Tuesday and then headed to the hospital to deliver the twins. So to top off bringing home twins I have been packing like a crazy woman!!!

Annie...CONGRATULATIONS! My morning sickness started around week 7 and didnt go away until week 15. I used the wrist bands that buckeygal used, and it really did seem to help. I dont think I really started showing until week 14 or 15. But up until the very end (and I was two days shy of 38 weeks) no one thought I was pregnant with twins. I was all belly!!!

Have a great night ladies...off to watch the National Championship game!! And here's hoping for more sleep tonight!!

Suga~ A fabulous day I see!!! WHOOHOOO!!! Now the big question. . .Did they work???

Courtney~ Holy cow girl. . . closing, delivering, moving. . . with new twins! What a trooper! Another mom in here (DianeC) did the same thing in Australia but her twins were a couple months and she said it wasn't too bad. I hope you have the same experience. Thanks for the sweet comments on my kiddos cheeks! My DD has a little more meat on her bones and I often find myself squeezing her little thighs! Poor things get mauled all day! Good luck on a great nights sleep!

DH is off playing poker and I am off to do a big fat NOTHING! Looking forward to it!

Holy cow Courtney! That is a busy life! I could not imagine that with newborn twins...I think I am crazy for moving here in May (as long as everything goes to plan). But I am having my mom come up to watch the girls as I do things.

Brooke chewed and swallowed two bites tonight! Then she gagged and choked on the rest and it was really watery. So I will keep trying. She is the one who really needs the prunes but is not getting them! *sigh* so she is still constipated.

Kenzie ate like 10 bites though! I have to leave the spoon in her mouth for a minute and she chews on that and swallows. Otherwise she will spit it out.

It was deff. reflux! I started giving her meds in a bottle on their own with just one oz of formula and she feels a lot better! She was just not getting her meds before....poor thing. So she ate like a champ today! Still only 4 oz a feed but that is better than she was for the past few weeks! Hopefully she can gain more weight now!

Well they are eating cereal with prunes in it! Chewing and swallowing. Kenzie will eat more than Brooke though. Last night I made Kenzie eat her bottle of meds first then gave her cereal. Tonight I did cereal first...bad idea. She did not want any milk afterward! She just wanted all cereal. I mean she ate the whole darn bowl! Of course they will get a bottle at 10 to help them get to 3AM. Hopefully now that they are eating solids at dinner they will go longer...*prays*

I sprained my wrist...it is hard to do things with a bumb wrist might I add. I did it opening the door to our Jeep...the trunk. Do not ask lol, I do not even really know! haha.

Anywhoo, crying babes not wanting to sleep (over tired) got to go take care of it.

Suga~YEAH!!!! Are the prunes helping? Sounds like you have some pretty quick learners on your hands. Should be anyday now that you wake up in the morning and realize they weren't up at 3! Fingers crossed!! Sorry about your finger. That would be me. Stubbed my toe so hard this summer I my toenail was BLACK! Labor didn't hurt that bad! Seriously.

Question for the mommies with older twin. . . When did your kids talk so you could understand them??? Mine use to say "mama, dada, mom, dad, yes, woof," and a few others but have literally gone to their own language now. They talk non-stop and have TONS to say but it's rarely an attempt at a word we know anymore. Not worried or anything but more curious. With Annelise being so obsessed with books I would think she would be dying to talk but nope. Also, I don't think it's a "twin" language as much as it is babble that all 16 month old's would understand if they spent 24 hours a day together. :D

Better go relax before we head to the mountain tomorrow. I have the good crystal out sipping my sparkling cider. Ooooooh lala!!! Gotta have some sort of vice while pg!! :D

Good night everyone!

suga--sorry to hear about the finger, but glad to hear that solids are going okay!l

Kholtan---we have a lot of babbling over here too. My kids do know how to say a lot of words in isolation, but their conversations have a lot of nonsense in them. LIke you, I don't think it's necessarily "twin talk" because I don't hear any consistent words or strings of babbles, you know? How many words are your kiddos saying? I know around 15 months, my kids could say about 20 words or so...so, I know they are building their vocabulary, but I think the babbling is their way to play with "conversations". I don't know what's considered "normal", but I wouldn't worry. Just keep your pedi informed. I think the BIG thing to look out for is if their vocabulary shrinks....

Kim~ I wouldn't say they have 20 words or really anywhere near. They are great at communicating what they want and I do try to make them say the words but not too much comes of it. Also, I don't know if it's shrinking as much as it's just not growing. My kids actually said mama and dada VERY early but now they rarely say it. We have an appointment on Tuesday and I was planning on talking to him about it. If I only knew what Annelise's "Shabop" meant. She says that all the time and with force. It's like their language has been haulted more than anything. Frozen for the last month or so??

WRite a list of the words you actually know they're saying. I never would have guessed that mine said that many either....until I started writing them down.

Good luck on translating "shabop"....no help here!

"Duh-ee" is ducky over here! Took me at least a week to figure that one out.

Congratulations, Annie and welcome Courtney. Nice to have new mommies and mommies to be on board. I am was a baby-wise Mommy and it worked for us.

I am just really busy these days becasue my twins are mobile and my almost 3 year-old is very active as well. I do try to update my blog as often as possible though! My blog is http://thecampbell-ozawa.blogspot.com/

Suga -- glad McKenzie was able to swallow prunes. You now have more option for her constipation remedies! Good luck with house hunting. If you don't own it, now is a really good time for buying for sure! You are so good about thinking school district already. That is the way to go, thinking ahead!

Kimberly - Sean was the same way, he sometimes stopped saying certain words. He isn't a big talker as yet but I know he is capable. It would be interesting if it's true the twins have their own twin language to communicate one another. I am sorry you lost some photos... We lost photos of our trip to New Zealand one time and I was sad. Things happen though but I am sure you will have plenty more to share.

Kim - You'd recommended a double jogging stroller before. Was that
Baby Trend brand? I couldn't recall and now we are re-considering because my DH wants to job with the kids.

Ok so Alyson needs a bottle so must go now. I am happy I was able to finally complete this post! ha!

Tolbee--I have a Baby Trend double jogger, but I'm not in love with it. I would just make sure to get one with a swiveling front wheel. Mine doesn't have that and I wish it did. I'd consider getting another one now, but I don't think I'll have more than one season with it...my kids are getting too big.

Suga--good luck with the hosue hunt! We're considering a move in the next year too...we need more room, and now's a great time to buy.
