Placenta previa

Post by kerpupples »

Anybody deal with placenta previa during your pregnancies? Did it cause you to have preterm labor or a C-section? Looks like I may be dealing with it myself.

Thanks,
Amy

Thanks rio! Hope your handsome little fella is doing well.

I'm having a girl BTW. :)

They did a transvaginal ultrasound to see if my placenta is implanted near the cervix and it looks like it probably is, so they didn't sound too optimistic about it moving. I guess we'll see. Just hoping I don't start bleeding and have to go preterm!

My very good friend had it and she did end up having a C-section at 36 weeks. She had a beautiful healthy 6 pds 13 oz little princess. She was on bed rest for a majority of her pregnancy but she also had a VERY hard time getting pregnant and many losses before this. (Her losses had nothing at all to do with PP) It all worked at in the end for her and little girl. Try not to stress about it. I wish you lots of luck! Enjoy being pregnant it's a truly amazing experience!

Thanks almondeyes. I am hoping to avoid bedrest. My DH has spoken with two husbands of placenta previa mothers - one delivered at term and one two weeks early by C-section. Both mother in baby were fine in both cases. Gives me some relief.
