Kas - So is folgard pretty much the same thing as vitamin-b complex. I have been taking a vitamin B complex which has b-12, b-6 and b-9, just wanted to know if folgard hand anything else besides this.

Also, when did you start to take methylprednisolone? My RE has me take this starting the day of retrival and for the next 5 days.

Thanks!!!

NY4th Thanks for the magnesuim tip, i will ask at my weekly blood draw tomorrow, i have plenty as i took it before and during stims....
Hope the intralipid goes well, i have read about this before and wish you the best of luck with this , lets hope it makes all the difference

Mitch Thank you so much on the congrats!!! Yes triplets is a blessing, although i am very apprehensive as of course, everything i seem to read tells doom and gloom stories, and i think i am inclined to over obsess about this pregnancy anyway as it has been so wanted for so long!!!! Thanks for the info on the cervical stitch.... why do they do that? My Re said i would need one about at about 12 weeks.....do you think he is concerned? They measured my cervix and he told me it was 3.5 which i didnt think anything of, but i have since been looking at twin/triplet pregnancies and most people seem to start off around 5 and get concerned when it reaches 3 ? Not that i am obsessed or anything

KarenSo you are nearly at the 2nd tri point!!! I cant believe its here already, so it seems like a great time to plan the babys room!!! Sorry about the spotting - i am right there with you on that one...

Wonderce Hope the peanut butter works on you as well!!

Foreverlove So we are exactly the same schedule, and i loved seeing your ticker, makes it seem real!!

To Have Fun You are exactly right on the folgard, its essentially just high dose vit B with a high dose of folic acid as well. If you are already taking B vitamins and a regular pre-natal with folic acid, i guess its the same thing. As far as the methylpred steroids, i started taking them after ER and still take them twice a day (8mg each dose) I think i'm continuing them for a while yet......

As for me, i think i am starting to feel that m/s everyone is talking about!!! yesterday i felt a bit of nausea but i kept thinking i was imagining it, but today there have been a few times i have had it and its very real!!!

hey ladies,

well i'm enjoying a lazy day off before i have to go back and work the weekend. i'm going to head out soon and look at paint colors for the baby room. i'm feeling disappointed the last couple days, as i'm almost at the 2nd tri mark, but feel like i can't fully celebrate because of this hematoma still resolving (although it's rare- they can cause 2nd tri m/c)...

and what does 'rare' mean to me anyways- it was 'rare' with my family history that i'd have fertility issues, it was rare that i'd have a m/c last time, it was rare (1%) that i'd even get a hematoma in the first place!! so rare means f-all to me these days.

my waist is getting bigger, some pants don't fit, my bbs have only grown a bit and i'm quite small to begin with, so i think i'm starting to look like a pear...and that's not the pregnancy look i'd like to be going for. i have to wear dress clothes to work, so i'm running out of options, i also am only trying to wear black pants cause i'm terrified of having another gush of blood at an inoportune time- like in front of clients with khaki pants on.

sorry for my bitching. i'm just a little sad and had expectations i could announce my pregnancy by now, but am seeing that's not the best idea. maybe if the spotting and sludge stops... it has slown down the last couple days, so here's hoping.

it seems like lots of action for other gals out there- stimming for you NY, chris - you're getting closer, and successful u/s for others. kas is having triplets...

wicked- how are you holding up? are you still out there watching us? i'm thinking of you. and anyone else- JDC? jan? some ofyou we haven't heard from in a while.

wish everyone a great day, karen

Kas, The stitch holds the cervix closed. If the cervix starts to dilate too soon from the pressure of the babies the amniotic sac can bulge through the cervix and rupture. I think it's great that your dr is taking precautions. In my case I went for a routine visit and found I was starting to dilate at 23 weeks, they saw a "funnel" in my cervix is what they called it. I had to go home and rest that day and return the next morning for another check and if it did not resolve itself it was off for an emergency stitch. Well needless to say it didn't resolve and I was off to the O.R. My dr said that sometimes if the sac bulges through the cervix they can manipulate it back and then put the stitch in but you also run the risk that the sac will rupture while the dr is trying to push it back. I would much rather be in your position with a plan from the start to keep the babies in as long as possible. My situation was very scary and at that point I risked losing both babies if born that early. Luckily my dr was very good and with multiples you have tons more appts so they pretty much catch everything right away. Be prepared to have tons of u/s, which means you get to see your babies pretty often and you get lots of picks. My dr's office did lots of 3D. The measurement is the length of the cervix. Not sure how long it should be but I know they kept a close eye on it my entire pregnancy and I think it was somewhere around 3. something and stayed that way after the stitch and I didn't have any other problems. Of course the bedrest got old after a while but you do what you have to do to deliver the healthiest babies. I was lucky to have my mom and sister here. My husband was in Iraq most of the pregnancy and was allowed home for the birth and then returned to Iraq when the babies were 10 days old. That added a bit more stress to my situation but I made it to 37 weeks and delivered a 5 lb 12 oz girl and a 6 lb 1 oz boy. Big twins for 37 weeks. Try not to research yourself to the point of stress. My dr told me to lay off the internet. Just think positive thoughts and follow the dr's orders. It is possible to carry those triplets as far as needed and after all you've been through to get where you are I'm sure you can do it. You asked for a blessing and God gave you three so he wanted you to have them.

Kas, I am so so excited for you. I am sorry I have not posted earlier but carrying triplets myself I usually spend most of the days resting.
I will suggest getting alot of rest. I am 11 weeks 5 days and look about 4 months pregnant already, My peri said it is because the uterus is growing so large and I also had 3 children a long time ago so the Uterus tends to grow much faster.

Drink at least 8 glasses of fluid a day whcih I will tell you is very hard as the pregnancy progesses, seems the little beans take up so much room that there is no room for your stomach to expand, so drinking while eating is almost impossible and eating a full meal, well that has not happened for me since around week 8, so I eat small amounts every 2 hours or so..

I will tell you to rest, rest rest as your body will demand it.

I wish you and DH all the JOy in the world. It is very exciting to know that we will have 3 little ones in a matter of 5 months or so, I sometimes think it has not really settled in as reality yet.

Mitch Thanks so much for the input on the stitch situation. I think i feel a little better about it as i have read about some situations where all the multiples are lost (usually suddenly) due to something to do with the cervix. SO, i guess from your experience its better to get it stitched sooner rather than later. I guess i was just concerned that my RE suggested it so early, but I'm glad he is being cautious!!
Did it hurt? sounds kind of barbaric but i am happy to do anything for these little ones  I think i am moving over from the 'anxious/overwhelmed' feelings to more 'excited/butterflies in my tummy' about these triplets!!!!

When are you thinking about starting on a new cycle???

NY The crazy things you have to do ....

Much Hope Thanks for the input!!! You are exactly 5 weeks ahead of me, so i will be relying on you to tell me whats coming next!!!! I dont have any tiredness (strangely) but i do have an underlying queasiness on and off throughout the day, but not too bad. I already think i look big. My nurse mentioned it at my scan (i am small framed so my belly looks big) and i thought it was bloating as i have been a bit bloated since ER due to stims). She actually laughed at me and said it was babies not bloat. I have since come to the realisation she might be right as i cant suck it in and it doesnt feel squashy like it did with stims its feels much harder... I dont know i am new to all of this and this is my first pregnancy EVER !
Help!!

Berning Good luck on Monday for the u/s!!! Hope you get some great news.... i see your betas were also very high so maybe you will add to the multiples on this board as well! I didnt have any symptoms untill the last few days either and it was worrying me also. Its kind of like as soon as i saw the scan the sickness kicked right in, so maybe you will be the same  Let us know how it goes !

i hope this works, i am not very tech savvy - should be a photo of our ultrasound earlier this week (with the 4 sacs!) You can probably see the one that is unlikely to go anywhere (bottom left)

Good afternoon ladies. I don't think that I have posted a message since the new year began so I would like to wish everyone a Blessed and Happy 2009!

I haven't posted in a while because the m/s has been really bad for me. I am going into my 11th week and I have been having all day m/s since week 6 but it has gotten much worse in the past 2 weeks. I have also been very tired. At first it was just nausea then I started vomiting also. When I went to my 1st OB appt on the 12/29 I was asked about my weight, etc and I was hesistant to mention that I had lost about 11 lbs. I was informed that some women lose weight initially and then start gaining it back going into the 1st trimester. But I was told to stay at my current weight. Well last week I had bad cramping and I was told that it was because my uterus is expanding so I went in to make sure everything was fine. To my suprise my OB doesn't have an u/s tech in office (which I found very unusual!) so my OB had a handheld devise to check for the h/b & we were able to hear a strong h/b which made me feel much better. Anyway when they checked my weight I was down a couple of more pounds :( but I was doing my best to keep things down. So that's where I am now!

Well enough about me. I am going to do a few personals.

Karen I see that you're still having your good and bad days and I can understand why you maybe feeling down at times, especially since you've m/s before. But I wish you the best and I pray that things get better. I really think that your pg is safe and will continue but I know it's hard to see that if you're spotting. I pray that you will have a healthy and happy pregnancy. Try to stay positiive :D

wicked I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I hope things get better for you.

gina that is a a great pic of your little bean. I can't wait to see mine again. My last u/s was at 7wks and I don't have another one until 1/21 so I am anxiously waiting!

Kas All I can say is WOW! That is unbelievable that 4 took. I am sorry to hear that you lost the 4th one and I am congratulating you on the three. Since you always wanted twins, I know this is like a dream come true for you. I pray that they continue to grow and that you have a healthy pregnancy. Make sure you take it easy and get plenty of rest. I am so happy for your & DH! :D

foreverloveCongrats on your u/s. I know it was exciting!

Chris I hope that everything is going well with the new RE. I hope & pray that 2009 is the year for you and DH. Wishing you guys the best! :D

I know that I have missed a lot of people but I wish everyone the best. I think there are a couple of people that are getting ready to go through another cycle and I wish you many blessings with that. For all of the moms to be, I hope you all are doing well. I hope that everyone is doing well also. Take care!

Chris, these boards are so addictive. I find myself searching a lot at work. I'm so worried I'm gonna get caught but can't help myself. I start looking at one board, and maybe it has a link to another one and it leads me on a tangent. Good luck with your studying. I have several co-workers who have gone back to school and I don't know how they juggle it all. You must have good self-discipline!

Wishing4blessings, good to hear from you. Hopefully you'll be able to gain some of that weight back in your 2nd trimester. I also lost quite a bit but have noticed my appetite slowly creeping back. I put a serious hurting on a half gallon of cream this weekend. Maybe just a couple more weeks of m/s for you? I hope so. I know how hard it is when you want to eat good but just can't stomach anything. The h/b is always good to hear too!

Lynniecat, I forget but are you taking a stool softener for the bathroom issues? I find this is helping me in that area. Although my b/w showed I was anemic last week, so my OB put me on an iron supplement in addition to my prenatals. I'm worried of what's to come!

Kas, love your u/s pic! It's good that you and Elida are both sharing the miracle of multiples. Elida, good to hear from you too!

Berning, good luck with your u/s tomorrow! My OB's nurse said I can stop in anytime to have a listen to the h/b with their doppler, so I think I'm gonna swing by tomorrow. I don't know when my paranoia will stop.

NY4thtry, let us know your results after your scan tomorrow. Hoping you have lots of good follies growing!
