ALREADYBLESSED and KHOLTAN, you two crack me up!!!

OMG...you ladies are too funny. Well, I haven't even asked my midwife for the past two visits how much I've gained, I don't want to know right now. I'll probably ask at my next visit or not ;)

BUT, I share with you the fact that my dh is health conscious freak  He went away for two weeks to visit his family in the Caribbean and I was happy as a clam when it came to eating 8) He came back a couple of days ago, he went to the kitchen and said "what's up with all this junk?"...I responded, "well, you were gone and I'm pregnant" in a "if you say anything else you're sleeping on the couch tonight" lol! that was the end of it!

Maybe we can all write to abc (or whatever network has the biggest looser) and request a special season of loosing post-treatment/post-pregnancy weight...then we can all join the show as a team

hi esperanza!!! Sounds like you deal with the DH the same way I do. When he starts to get on my nerves I throw him " the look" :x . That usually does it. If not, I explain that due to my hormone levels at the present time, I could beat him silly and probably get away with it in most of the states.
I like the idea of the post pregnancy weight loss thing....It could be "the biggest mama"  Isn't it funny how you don't think of the bad things you eat until AFTER you finish them. I must've gone through 1/2 lb. of pasta on my own last night. When I was on my 3rd piece of buttered potato bread, DH said "wow someones hungry"....... :x :x He then added "but you're feeding our son too, so carry on". About 15 minutes later when it felt like my uterus was in my neck, I thought....wow, I probably shouldn't have eaten all that. I really hope the weight comes off easier this time. I picture myself like that girl in Willy Wonkas chocolate factory who blew up into the big blueberry.   And there I am....just more pinkish.

I'm the healthier eater in our household but DH has still been giving me the eye at some of the portions I've been helping myself to. He's a smart one though, he knows not to say anything! ;)

I actually got some advice on another thread to talk to a nutritionist about trying to lose weight while still pregnant. All that I've read though advises strongly against that, and my doctor seems to agree that minimizing gain is the best way to go.

I had GD so I really had to watch what I ate and have 6 meals a day and watch my blood sugar like crazy. So I only gained 22 lbs and lost it all 4 weeks after baby. I missed all the junk food but HAVING to stick to a healthy diet really helped me stay well and it was good for the baby. Basically no refined foods, lots of nuts, some yogurt, some fruit, cheese, meats, watched my carbs.
