Kelly, I only had 5 the first round and was pg with twins.. The fact that all 5 fertilized is HUGE.

My first round is identical, 5 retrieved, 5 mature, 5 fertilized. All made it to day 3 with 3 grade ones. 2 implanted, but one died at 7.5 weeks, the other was 100 percent normal by CVS --- dang lupus.

Question --- my doctors (and others at CCRM) said that sometimes an embryo is fine, but does not like the lab and will not make it to day 5 in the lab, but would be healthy baby if put back at day 3.

Are you considering this at all? Are you not tempted to put some back now? I know its not your plan....but since you have 5 I wonder if it makes more since to put all 5 back on day 3 like I did. I mean CGH is great if you have to CHOOSE which to put back. But on round one, I put ALL five back on day 3.

Please let us know what happens! I though they did CGH on day 5 embyros? No? I though they needed more cells to do CGH, that is what CCRM told me. CGH on day 5, PGD on day 3....

I am keeping those 5 embabies in my thoughts!

I am so glad you checked in, I was worried your IVF round was a bust and you were super upset, but you have 5 awesome embabies!

ALthough banking does leave you with more embryos for baby 2 right. For me, assuming this baby makes it, it would be extra difficult to have another baby cause I will be a year older.

So that is one big advantage to not putting all 5 back now!

as for me.. went for first ultrasound yesterday ... drumroll please....

17 FOLLIES!!! RE says amazing for a woman my age with my fsh...

so far so good.. er should be sat or sunday..

maybe this is my time...

NY4thtry: Wow, 17 follies is wonderful. The most I got from IVF #2 was 12.

Lynnie, it is a done deal. During the cycle i was not monitored and medicated for a fresh transfer just a retrieval. If i have some normals banked by retrieval number 3 maybe i will do a fresh transfer of some that look boarder line on day 3. That is certainly something to think about. Thanks.

CCRM and SIRM have different philosophies and protocols on CGH. SIRM does theirs on day eggs or day three 3 embryos they then wait to see if any survive to blast for vitrifying. CCRM biopsies on day 5 then vitrifies the blasts. Both have great results but both think their way is best. It takes weeks for the results at both clinics so FET is the only option.

Renee, those betas are great!!! It looks like you caught a golden egg.

NY, you have the ovarian reserve of a 20 year old. I am so jealous!!

Thinks are ok! They could not find a source for the bleeding but think its burst capillaries from the uterus stretching!

I am so relieved!

GREAT NEWS!!!!! I have three 8 cell grade 1 and two 8 cell grade 2. Can you believe it? So all were biopsied just waiting to see if any make it to blast to freeze. I have read that embryo grading can be inaccurate especially in old lades so they still may be a mess genetically. Only time will tell. I don't think CCRM could have done any better than that.
