Hi Ladies!!

Happy Friday :)
Glad to hear everytone is doing well today. ALthough I am on pins and needles waiting for Grandma to write and tell us what the verdict is!!!!
I heard some bad news from the clinic today. I had three emryos left after the transfer but they did not mature enough to be frozen :(
So now I have to REALLY pray that the two they put back survive!!
I don't want to have to start ALL over again............oh well if it does not work TRY TRY AGIAN.
I wanted to see what anyone else felt about something, I was telling everyone about how my boobs were and still are killing me!!! And I thought that was a good sign until I read that the progesterone gives you those side effects!!!???
So once again I am feeling a little down about what is going on in my body.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this???
Jane- How are you feeling today??? Day 6 right? Me too!
BEL B - What about you? Feeling anything????

FAO REGANKATE AND LOOPYLOU
How comes if we all had our et on Sunday 29th Feb, I am testing on 13th of March and you guys are testing on 12th?? Have I got the date wrong or are you doing a JulyAnn on us and testing early.

Regan Kate: in relation to the boobs thing. Progesterone suppositries are used for the treatment of pms and should stop boobs hurting (thats what the leaflter which comes with the med says). All my friensd have told me that it is the nipple that hurst when they have been pregnant not the actual boob.
Really sorry to hear about your embies that cannot be frozen. How comes it has taken them this long. I though they got frozen on the day of et.
Dont worry I have no pregnancy side effects at all, and I'm still trying to be positive (in between the moody and miserable parts of the day!!!).

Susan - sorry I had forgotton you were behind the rest of us. I wondered why you had gone quiet. You might want to start chatting with MCB's who should be starting stims at that soon. I hope you start having some follicles for next Tuesday.

July Ann - will keep an eye out at crufts. Are you actually showing your dogs. I will look out for a bloated woman with a bullmastif!! If you are should you be going out tonight. I would have thought you would be grooming and petting them all night.

Alison - what are BFP's (Burps, farts and pimples????)

Hello to the rest of you. Just realised this is my 2nd post today - I might catch you up Traci on the "top posters".

I've got another quiet weekend coming up. I'm very lazy compared to all you guys. DP is off to watch the rugby tommorrow. I can't even do housework to fill my time (what a shame). Maybe a cinema trip with a girlie friend.
Enjoy yourselves, and continue talkingto those embies, now that they have all implanted AND GROWING :D :D :D

Love from Sophie Jane

Hi FCBs....

July Ann, good luck with your dog/s at Crufts. You must be very nervous, what a fantastic distraction though! As someone who is petrified of dogs, Crufts is my worst nightmare :( I start my first contract as a self employed consultant on Tuesday so am hoping that will keep my mind off tmt too.

ReganKate....I'm on Day. 9 of my 2ww and feel nothing that could be remotely connected to being pg...I've a dull lower abdominal ache, which feels oh-so like AF (due Tuesday), some bloating but no sore boobs. It's so hard to know what is real and what is meds related, in fact I don't think we can. One thing I do know is that the hormones are driving me insane, I am intensely angry all the time. It takes nothing to make me throw a hissy fit, I'm snappy, bitchy, I slam doors and have wobblers continually....poor DF. I hope your symptoms are genuine and nothing to do with the meds.

Fingers crossed,
Debra.

Hi Again!!!
I wonder if the projesterone shots are different than the supositories???
Because I have the shots and I read it on the internet that those are the side effects.
My boobs and my nipples are killing me!!
So I hope that is a GOOD sign??? And yes it was kind of late for the clinic to let me know about the embryos.
I actually had to call them today to find out what was going on!!! I was a little pissed!!!
Debra- I too have dull achs in my abdomen. Not sure what that is either???
I am trying not to think too much about it so I can get through the next week!!!!
Thanks for alll the responses!!

Hi all,
Regankate-sorry to hear about ur embryos,Sometimes hospitals and doctors SUCK!!!But hopefully u won't need the frozen ones as the two in there are going to cling tight and grow in u!!!!Yes,the progesterone injections and suppositories are 2 different things and suppo. Are usually used in frozen embryo transfer to prepare the uterus to accept and implant the embryos(that's what my doc tells).Hopefully ur symptoms are signs of a positive!!!!!!and not because of projesterone.

Loopylou-I am sure ur husband is going to love the surprise!!!Wow,now that's something that I want my dh to do.Hope u enjoy his birthday and ur weekend.Hope u r doing well with those embies implanting in there…lots of babydust to u!!!
Debra p-Good luck with ur first contract on Tuesday!!!I think keeping ourselves busy is the best thing to get ove r with the dreaded 2ww.Sending a big fat +++++++ ur way:)):):);
Jane-I think I will have a quiet weekend like u too.M Just planning to watch some tv(my lifeline) and log in and out of the message board checking on how everyone is doing.Goodluck for ur 2ww.I am sure u will smile on ur test date!!!:):):):0
July ann-Enjoy ur time out with ur girlfriends tonite-----away from the baby, pregnancy, symtoms, bloating, etc etc talks for a while. U deserve a break girl!!and a big positive++++++too!!
Traci-Not seen any posts from u today.I am counting on ur candle for Tuesday….thanks for being so selfless…may god show u great days!!!
Allison ,kathryn t….how are u both doing??Kathryn ,no news from u …pls do write about how u r doing.

Dear Miracle,
So are there no side effects to the projesterone shots then?
I am sorry if I sound so naive.
I know they give you the shot to strengthen your uteris, but doesn't your body produce it anyway?

hi regankate,
Don't worry about the type of questions u ask on this site.We all have limited knowledge but we can atleast share whatever we know:)My doc tells me that injections/suppositories have the same side effects like sore boobs ,abdominal cramping etc.The answer to ur ques whether the body produces it naturally is yes and u dont need any vaginal suppo. in fresh ivf cycle...but people having a frozen embryo transfer need to supply these hormones externally as the eggs are not produced and retrieved in that cycle to produce progesterone naturally.

I hope this helps.Just passing on some information provided by my RE.

Thanks,
Miracle.

Hi Miracle,

My eggs were from a fresh cycle but my DH sperm was frozen. So is that why I have the projesterone oil?? So not everyone gets that huh??
I have one last question: Why is it that if you took a Home pregnancy test before your blood test it would come up negative?
By now, on day 6, shouldn't I have enough HCG in my blood streem?
If not when?
THANK YOU!!!

As expected, my daughter got a BFN today. Needless to say, they were both devestated. Her dad and I also had a good cry. She wants to try again right away, but we to muster up the funds. They are also talking about adoption. I just feel numb. Does male factor contribute to the failure to implant?

I'm so sorry your daughter and her husband failed this time. Most of us of know exactly how numbing it feels. In a way it makes it a little easier that she'd suspect this might happen, but still, it is devastating.

The positive is that she's ready to start again. This is what needs courage and undoubtedly more support. Her clinic may suggest waiting a little while but it all depends on exactly what meds regime they use. Sometime it's also good advice to them to take a little break from the tmt and live normally again for a bit. Eating and drinking as normal, not being afraid of intimacy etc.

Give your daughter a huge hug and wish her well. She will get there :)

love
Debra.

Grandma,
Really sorry to hear your news. It is positive that your daughter wants to try again. Here in England a leading consultant (Prof Winston) says that one go at ivf is only the start. That we do need approx 3 goes to get a positive result. So don't despair. Your daughter is young.
The male factor should not have any bearing on implantation .... the eggs had already fertilised (but I am no doc). Its like people getting pregnant naturally. It doesn't always happen the first month they try.

Am thinking of you today. It will be a sad day for your family. But as you can see from other girls on this site, you can pull through it (and get a positive in the end).

LoopyLou - I'm going to ask for a blood test then on the 11th or 12th. They are cheating me out of knowing the result for 2 days. How Dare They. I've got all a bit excited now. That means I am over half way through. I can't believe its Saturday and the fertility nurses are not there as I want to check this out with them.

Sore boobs are back. Lots of cramps in lower abdomen. Nicker checking all through the night!!!!!!!
Had a really vivid dream. DP and I in clinic with fertility nurse. Did a test. Had a positive. It was so real. If it wasn't for me having foam coming out of my trainers (I know dont ask!!) and wearing a shell suit I really would have thought it was real.
