tolbee: lol it is not warm here! Today it is 38 and tomorrow it will drop into the teens during the night  We live in northern Florida though...Miami area is warm I am sure! The girls are actually pretty mellow at this point...as long as they are not hungry or tired.

Congrats on the stroller! That is still expensive in my book lol but I do know it is a deal with those. I think it is crazy they can charge that much for a darn stroller.

Kim: Congrats on the day care! I bet you are super excited! That is a crazy long wait time also! Holy CoW!

Thanks everyone on the positive vibes for Bodie. The Dr. and us just decided that it's better to check it out than to just pass it off. Thank goodness my kids have been so healthy because a simple couple days of being sick could send him to the hospital. He doesn't have an ounce to lose and I mean that literally. One day we had a bout of loose poopies and I could see all the ribs in his back that evening very clearly. Personally, my feeling is he is perfectly healthy and just very active but I don't want to be the mother not willing to be open minded about it either. So, we'll just wait and see. I had turned his car seat around last month thinking he was big enough and now he has to be flipped back. Looks like he'll be closer to 2 when he rides forward!

Kim~ Congrats on the daycare! I need to get on that here so your motivation is much needed. By 2-2.5 I would like the kids to go 2 mornings a week just for the other stimulation that they don't get here or wherever we go. Let us know how much they love it!
It sounds bitter cold there!!!!! Here it's cold but the sun shining makes it nice. Thank goodness or we'd never leave! The kids love playing in the snow. Annelise thinks it's the world's largest sno cone ever! Gross but what can you do?
Lastly, we do have small people in our family. I was tiny but not like him and dh's side of the family has some really small Italian women but no small men? The men on my side are all VERY tall? Mystery!

Kimi~ Congrats on the stroller!!!!! I know they are expensive but when the kids get heavier it makes a world of a difference! Things that make life easier or worth it to me. I'd cut back on something else if I had to for a while to get one again if I had to! I love mine!!!! I'm super stoked for you! Your recent blog pics are soooooo cute as well! Any names yet for this new girl??? I need help myself!

Suga~ You must post some pics of the house you decide on! I love that stuff. I cannot believe how much one girl looks like you and the other your dh! They are just so cute. Your friend's baby sounds little but I totally understand. Mine were a little bigger at that age. How are they sleeping now that they eat cereal?

Better run! I slapped the babies in one crib to play so I could type this and I hear craziness! Laughing and playing but I'm sure something has been marked permanately in the last 5 minutes. :D

Suga -- did not know it can get that cold in Florida. My friend lives near Tampa and according to her she's wearing a T-shirt. BOB strollers are really expensive and took me for a while to get used to the idea of paying that much for one. But I guess it's one of those things that usability and quality outweigh the price (just trying to convince myself that). I was thinking the same thing as Kholtan wrote. You have one each that looks like you and your DH. Cute!

Kimberly -- Thanks, I am getting really excited about BOB. My FIL's name is Bob. I am not surprised that BOB is from (I mean the stroller) Boise because Boise is such a city for outdoor enthusiasts. When Hyde Park was still a dog park, I used to take my roommate's dog over there for some doggy playdates. I just love the outdoorsy feel Boise has. I don't have any names for my baby yet. Do you have a baby name book or webpage you recommend? I cannot decide if I should go girly/gorgeous, traditional/brainy or modern/chic!

Kim -- hope you are staying warm. It's in low 50s today and relatively warm. We even saw a glimpse of the sun! That is a good day for us. But not enough to produce enough Vitamin D.

Hope everyone else is doing well today. I had a super busy day at work and I am going to relax for a few mins now that the babies are finally napping.

I am at my wits end today. I literally cried this morning I was so tired/frustrated. Brooke did not eat as much as usual but she is probably just not hungry and she was tired cause Kenzie woke her up too early...thats fine I can get over that. What I can not get over is the fact that Kenzie does not want to eat all the time. I mean she has eaten 3 oz this morning. (7am feed and 10am feed) that is 3 oz total today. Hopefully she will eat at the 1PM feed but who knows! She has bottle aversion now sometimes because she knows that is what makes her hurt. She eats solids like a champ but she needs her milk still. I finally broke down and gave her some pears because she could not sleep she was so tired. She is not sleeping because she is overtired/hungry. But she will not eat so I can not get rid of the hunger for her! I weighed her...she is not gaining any more. So maybe the doctor will listen to me this time when I go in in Feb. I am having the husband buy some Enfamil AR because she hates Barley and the oatmeal gives her the runs. The rice cereal makes it too thick for her to eat. So hopefully this formula will do her better...I dunno! PLUS I do not know if it is a rash around her face or just acne. When she sucks her thumb a lot is when I notice it so I think it is just her spit irritating her face...the doctor says she does not have a milk allergy thus will not put her on a formula without lactose as it will be too hard to put her back on milk at one year....*sigh* I am exhausted! She woke up a lot last night cause she was hungry but then would not eat. Then she had a hard time going back to bed. I am at a loss of what to do!!

tolbee: Yes, it gets cold here! Lol! I mean we are in northern FL so that makes a difference as well.

Kholtan: Keep us updated!!! I will post pictures once we narrow down the choices...

Suga~ Sorry you are having such a stinker of a day! One thing I still do to this day is put a large amount of furmula in the cereal. My Ped. is happy we can hide the extra calories somewhere and it apparently doesn't make a difference with the taste. Perhaps try that? Also, don't be too worried that she's not gaining at this point. They go thru strides in weight and as long as she is not losing any just keep trying. Can you see a different Dr. on your plan? It just doesn't sound like you are remotely confident in your Dr. and he doesn't seem to be listening to you. If he is you certainly don't seem to feel that way. I think a lot of babies irritate their skin when sucking on their thimbs so that seems normal to me. I have actually seen a few of the babies I nannied for do that. Also, be careful not to switch too much with her. It can take a few weeks for their little systems to adjust. Patients are not an easy thing to come by with new babies huh? We are all here whenever you need a good venting!

It is frustrating. We have all been there with one thing or another. Just keep on your path and things will start to work themselves out bit by bit. Keep us posted! Until then, I would buy a nice bottle of wine and have a few glasses to take some of the edge off. (This may be why I'm no therapist! :D  )
Take care!

Kimi~ Baby names! Us???? Are you kidding? The twins weren't named until day 4 or 5! Me bad!! I can never decide. I love a lot of names but agreeing is a whole different topic. We find out in 4 weeks what we are having so that will at least cut 50% of the thinking out! I love classic traditional names but dh is more of a modern/ chic fella. I'll post any if I ever come up with any at all!

Napping babies. . .better run!

I have a doc. appt tomorrow with the girls so we will see how things go. We are not allowed to change doctors till October  because of the insurance situation. TRUST me when that time comes around I will see if the doctor I really want is open and taking new patients. I wanted the one doctor originally but they were not accepting new patients. *sigh* So hopefully tomorrow goes well with everything. I am going to ask about changing formula as well as putting them on karafait (sp?) it is supposed to coat the lining of the stomach and esophagus. I will be interested to know tomorrow about weight gain in Kenzie...I am hoping (shhhh I know this is bad) that she has not gained so they will really know I am not lying! I weighed her the other night and she had only gianed 2 oz in a week so I am thinking she has not gained a lot.

Kholtan: Can you tell I do not like the doctor and its practice? LOL! Is it THAT obvious?! hehe.

Anyways, I just had some yummy chili...South Beach limits me to adding beans to it though. Otherwise it was nice and warm and yummy.

Suga -- sorry the day isn't going so well for you. We had a horrible night as well with Noah. He woke up at least five times last night because of stuffed nose. Normally, the humedifier does the trick, but annoyingly it did not work. Have you asked your doctor about Lansoprazole? It's the reflux medication Alyson used to take with her Reflux. Zantac didn't aliviate her symptom and the pedi said this is the next thing to try. After switching to it, Alyson didn't fuss anymore during feeding. Thankfully, she's off the med as of last week. In a couple of weeks, we are going to try the gradual transition to Similac Advance. So hopefully by their 13th month, they can both be on Cow's milk. That sucks you cannot change your Pedi untl Oct. Our Pedi is very experienced and nice. We feel very lucky to have him as our Pedi for our kids. Good luck tomorrow.

Kimberly-- yeah same here about name. My DH and I cannot agree and it's one of those things I would say "nope!"pretty clearly when I don't like it and it just won't make any progress. We were making the name list at the hospital as well for the twins. For Sean, we pretty much knew it when we found out the sex. Do you have any feeling if it's going to be a boy or a girl? I feel like you are going to have a girl for some reasons.

I've received my very fist box from organic vegetables deliverly service today. I am so excited to cook and eat them. They deal directly with farmers so they are all so fresh. I have no idea what to do with Italian Kale, but will look up some recipes online.

Well, must get busy while babies nap.

Take care!

Suga--I'm sorry you had a rough night. I've been thinking the same thing as Kholtan. Your doctor just doesn't seem to be a good fit. I know you want to wait until October to get your "ideal" doctor, but is there anyone else you could switch to until then? October is a pretty long way away....I just don't think I'd be able to stay with a doctor that I didn't feel listened to me for that long. Just my two cents....good luck!

Suga~ Now I agree with the other girls. . . can you switch to anyone at all? When my little guy had thrush we gave him karafait(sp) but to be honest it really didn't do much and you have to give them a lot of it a half hour before they eat and it was a HUGE pain in the butt if he was hungry sooner than expected at times. It wasn't for reflux for us but he needed it for the same outcome. Goodluck with all of this. I feel for you for sure. Babies really do need a manual!

Kimi~I am soooooo wanting to do the organic vegi thing you are doing!!!! Tell me how you like it because I just found them here and am very curous about them. Keep me posted on what you do with Italian Kale as well!! :D

Hello ladies! I know you can not tell this through the screen but I am rested!!! DH did the night shift last night and HOLY COW I have more energy than I know what to do with!!!! I still woke up at 3AM but I passed right back out when I saw the kitchen light on (over light) and heard him doing a bottle...He had a rough night because Brooke had bad gas at 5AM and woke Kenzie up as well so he is napping now. I asked if he would do it again tonight and he looked at me like I was a crazy person...humph. So I think once Brooke starts solids we may make it from 10PM to 7AM...we shall see!

Went to the doctor today. I think they finally got tired of seeing me! I saw the lady that I usually deal with and she listened to me a lot today and saw the tears in my eyes and I think she FINALLY got the hint I was not lying. Plus the girls were screaming the whole time. (they were tired but I did tell her that this is what it is like all day). SO she put them on Nutramigen for a cows milk allergy...she was like oh have we never tried to see if it is a cows milk allergy...NO!! I asked you about that 2 visits ago and you said it was unlikely!!! UGH!!! So she switched them. They are maxed out on meds, which I already knew. She said Miralax to help with constipation but I do not want to go there if I do not have to because it is a laxative and people can get dependent on those and I do not want that. If that does not work by Tuesday (the formula) then we are off to Shans to get an UpperGI for both of them and they will also look at their bowls. (bowels?) to see why they are so stopped up. SO please pray the formula works and we do not have to go there.

Anywhoo, once both of them are on fruits and veggies I am going the organic way. There is this book that teaches you how to make baby food. The jars are just too pricey after awhile. Right now I buy them just cause Kenzie is on pears and prunes but once they both start I have to make it. I hear that freezing them in ice cub trays is a good thing (you take them out once frozen and put them in a baggy) and you just let them thaw at room temp and it is much cheaper than buying....

K, well since I have energy I am going to make myself an omelet! I have lost 1 lb since being on South Beach in just 2 days!

Suga~ YEAH!!! SLeep! It's an amazing drug! That sure was nice of dh to do. I can honestly say my dh never did a single night at all but I also bf'ed so what would he do I guess? Also, sounds like your nurse was great this time. I guess the squeeky whell gets the oil?? Hope it works for the girls! Fingers crossed!!!
I am all for the organic thing. I didn't make a lot of their food but what I did do wasn't hard. Kim did all of hers I believe so she will probably have many helpful hints. Also, off of Corny's blog there are a few moms who make their organic baby food. Mckmama has lots of tips posted on hers! Good luck today with the formula! Let us all know how it goes!

We got Bodie's bloodwork back and he's just dandy. Like we thought but I'm still glad we checked. Right now I am just coating all his cooked foods in extra olive oil and putting protien powder in everything I can hide it in and trying to keep him on a high protien, healthy fats, kind of diet. I actually had to ask the Dr. if I fed my kids food that was TOO healthy? Never thought I would ask that! The little guy cannot eat more than he does so we'll see how hiding it goes.

Also, went to my OB and we are just dandy here as well. I thought I would have gained about 10 lbs. and I am actually down 1 lb. since my we found out. :? Seriously strange???? This is how it was with the twins as well so I'll probably start showing soon and gaining weight by the 6th month. Mystery? Heaven knows I haven't ate as well!

So much to do today and not enough time so I thought I would waste some and post? Again. . . :? !!

Hi Ladies,

Suga~ Glad they are letting you try the new formula and hope that helps. When you start with the baby food solids try the book Super Baby Foods. It teaches you how to make it, has great recipes, and how to store and freeze. I make my twins baby food and it has been super easy. It even tells you appropriate foods for the age of baby.

Kholten~ Great news about Bodie and your OB appt.

Wow ladies it is cold today so we are staying in.......

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/organi ... byfood.htm

There is the website I came across when I was looking at making organic baby food. They have neat storage things on there.

Question for those who make baby food: Can I use a food processor or do I need a baby food mill grinder thing? I mean they are only like $12 at the store but is it the same thing as a food processor in which I already have? What is the difference? I see some that take out the seeds...do not know how this works and if that is true or not. Anyone know?

Kholtan--great news about Bodie! yeah! And, I'm glad your ob appt. went well too....I swear, if I knew you in real life, I'd probably have to hate you! You're losing weight and your pg? Oh, so jealous......I think I started gaining weight immediately!

Suga--don't worry too much about the babyfood thing...it's super easy. Since I work during the week, I just chose one afternoon on the weekend (during naptime), where I'd steam veggies, puree them in the blender, and freeze them in ice cube trays. I started off doing one tray of each fruit/veggie that I was doing. But, then I started doing batches of peas, peaches, squash, etc. It was less time consuming that way. I used the wholesome baby food site too. Honestly, I feel like I saved a ton of money (and trips to the grocery) by making it myself. I used organic produce (I think) the whole time....I didn't do many fancy recipes, because my kids seemed to like anything I put in their mouths....if only that were the case today! BTW--no need for any fancy equipment, really. I just used the blender (food processor could work too....but I liked the blender better--pureed the food smaller) and ice cube trays.
