Hysteroscopy

Post by JaneR »

Hi,

I need a hysteroscopy before I cam commence IVF treatment and it has to be in the next 6 weeks due to being on Prostap.

Has anyone else had one? I know its only a day-op but are you fit enough to return to work the following day? Or do you need a few days to recover.

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jane

Hi Jane,
I had mine over a year ago now and it was at Xmas so I was off work anyway but if I remember right, I would say that you would certainly need the next day off work.

Hope this helps, good luck! Rach XX

Hi Jane

I had a hysteroscopy and laporoscopy before I started my tmt. You will definitely need at least one day off work - I think I had three days if I remember rightly. I work from home, but I couldn't move from the sofa for a few days. I think the main worry is that you will burst your stitches so you over compensate.

The actual Op is fine - you are asleep and won't feel a thing! You just need to take it easy afterwards. Also I don't think you are allowed to drive for 7 days - again in case you burst your stitches!

Good luck.
