Reproductive Endocrinologists in NYC area

Post by jandc33 »

Hello ladies-

I was actually wondering if anyone could recommend an RE in the NYC area, Long Island/Brooklyn/Queens are all fine. I find myself very frustrated by the present practice I am with. Way too many docs & nobody following me closely enough.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Thanks and best of luck to you all

I don't know how far you are willing to go, but my RE is in Trumbull, CT. Depending on how far you were willing to go on Long Island, it may be a similar distance. I had success with them my first try and am about to go for #2. There is only one RE there, he consults with everyone, office staff is very friendly and all care is personalized. They walked me through every step of the way when everything was so new to me. They took care of all insurance paperwork for me, including an appeal on my behalf. They have a website, it is: www.parkavefertility.com. If you don;t find anything acceptable in nyc, it might be worth the drive. I currently commute 30 min each way to get to them. Good luck!

Just wanted to give my own bit of advice regarding clinics-I agree with Ct-michelle-My only experience was also with park ave fertility in Trumbull, Ct-Dr. Levi-Only 1 doctor, and he follows you extremely close. Knock on wood, our 1st IVF try and I'm currently 28 happy weeks pregnant-He is kind p, patient, and really seems to know his stuff! Good Luck & Lots of Baby Dust to you!!!! Jennifer

Hey -

I went to the Center for Human Reproduction (they have a website) and specialize in the DHEA protocol. Dr. Barad is like the best doc I have ever had for anything (looks like george carlin!) I was an older, poor responder and told by the folks at St Lukes to just give up and move on (last chistmas). this past christmas I sat round bellied and pregnant w/ twins.

I have also had friends who had really good docs at NYU and I can recommend that.

Also the Maimonedes clinic in Brooklyn (Park slope)

let me know if you need more info.

Thanks ladies for your response. CT is a bit far for us and not very convenient with work. Has anyone heard of Long Island IVF??

Stefanie-I too heard good things about both NYU and Maimonides. NYU is so picky about insurance though and we aren't in a position to pay everything up front unfortunatley. I def think I am going to check out Maimonides though-it is right by my job and you are the 2nd person to speak highly of it. I was just looking at the website for Center for HUman Reproduction-thats kinda cool about the eco-ivf, Ive never heard about that.

THANKS LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any additional info would be great!

The Reproductive Specialist of NY in Mineola!! I've cycled with them 3 times, I got pregnant with them on try 2 but it unfortunatly ended in a missed abortion and I'm currently preggo with my twin boys here thanks to Dr. James Stelling. And becuase of THE MOST WONDERFUL financial coordinator there named Cheryl, I didn't pay anything for the first round becuase we where in a trial she got me into, we paid $8,500 for the second round and only $2,800 for this last round because she got us into a grant program.

I've never paid for any medication there becuase she was able to get it all donated to me from other patients and the drug companies because of this system that she has.

And I know that it's not typical for every one, but Dr. Stelling worked such miracles on me that I have 6 frozen embryos that're all great grades.

All the girls cried and hugged me when I said good bye to them and they where so wonderful there that I actually miss them.

I would vote twice for them if I could. Please PM me if theres anything more spacific you'd like to know.
