Hi Girls,

Suga -- it's amazing what a good night sleep does, isn't it? Especially if you were sleep deprived for quite some time. I hope your DH can pitch in to hlep you like that more often. Hope Nutramigen helps. As I wrote before, Alyson's constipation got better with it, too, so hope it would do the same for yours. I made most of my baby food with blender like Kim. It's super easy, I mix in a lot of stuff like avocados (it makes the food nice and fluffy), steamed broccoli, sweet potatoes etc... As long as the veggies are not too stringy, it does well with blender. I have a small food processor, too, and it does come handy but blender would do.

Kimberly -- the veggies I got are so fresh! I love them and happy to have ordered them. I think I will make it a regular thing from now on. I cooked Chard last night in olive oil and lemon juice with black beans and tomatoes. I finally had a dish that is completely organic and it does feel good to be doing what feels right. I am glad Bodie's bloodwork came out normal. He must be burning lots of calories. I add organic milled flaxseeds to Sean's food sometimes. I buy it from Costco and and he looks healthier after starting it. Like you, I'd lost some weight earlier, but I think I am finally gaining it. I am showing already, thanks to my all stretched out muscles.

Jade -- stay warm, dear! We are cold today here, too, even for a pregnany lady.

I found out that I get a day off on Monday for MLK jr Day! I am so happy about that. I am hoping Sean's daycare is open so that I can have a me time in the morning!

Well, have a good weekend ladies!

Kimi

Thought I would share some exciting news...they have been on their formula a whole whopping 24 hours right...well....drum roll please....

THE POOOOOPPPPEEEEDDD!!! It was all over the place! I mean out of their diapers and they needed baths! WOOOHOOO!!! FINALLY! They were so backed up it was crazy!!!

Ok, it is weird I am excited about poop. One thing I have to adjust them with though is it is thinner formula and they got hungry a lot more during the night...so they need to eat more.

Hi All

Sorry to be MIA for so long :)

We are all well and fighting fit here. Our twins Harry and Bronte are now 19 months old and are at a great age - at least for me they are:)

I am still busy studying (honours) and painting our house at the moment. I chip away at the painting and it is well worth the effort as everything is so fresh looking these days. We also had a new kitchen put in and some repairs done in the lounge. The house is really coming together now. Just have to enclose a verandah next year for my study - yay - and then we are finshed.

H & B are so cute these days. Bronte blows kisses all the time and Harry is talking non stop. Harry used to be our drama queen but these days it would be a toss up who has the most spectacular tanty. I swear they could win an academy award without even trying :) Thanks goodenss it is always over as soon as it starts.

I was going to read everything but I reentered at page 110 and you re now at 142 so sorry I pass on that one - just have to make sure I read and post more often :)

Anyways, I will put some updated photos on photobucket and see if I can see your cherubs as well.

Cheers Di

OMG---Di! I've missed hearing from you! Harry and Bronte have gotten so big! I love all the hair....I'm with ya on this stage. I feel like it's such a fun age--despite the tantrums that happen. Do your kids "switch" personalities every few months like mine do? Ellie is usually the more demanding, trying one for me, while Braeden is more laid back. But, around Christmas time, they switched--now Ellie is sweet as pie most days, and Braeden is REALLY demanding. Weird, huh? Glad to hear that your house is coming along and that you're surviving classes. When will you finish? You must keep us posted more often.....

Two posts in one day!

No, they don't switch personalities but are very different to when they were born. Harry was very demanding and cried and whinged all the time, Now - he still has the tendency to whinge and can be a drama queen but all in all he is very laid back. Not so with little miss - she who used to be so quiet - not anymore! She is harder to console, can throw a tanty in a split second, bites and pulls hair to be effective in dealing with her brother. Thank goodness she does not do that to other kids. He is passive, she is assertive. They are like night and day personality wise.

My two are BOTH really demanding - don't know how I managed that. They wear me out - must be because I am not a spring chicken anymore

Good luck with your new childcare arrangements. Lucky for us the kids have stayed in their new childcare centre all last year and seem to be happy there. They get to paint, paste, and interact with all the kids. - great fun!

It is so special to hear them coming home from the park with their daddy and I can hear Harry singing e-i, e-i ,e-i (from old macdonald). It blows me away with how fast they are growing up - like little sponges.

I have two years part time for my honours year, then finished! In this country I will be allowed to call myself a psychologist abeit not a registered one. It has been hard work but well worth the effort. Harder since having the twins as I had to take quite a bit of time off up until now.

Kimberley - I visited your blog and your two have grown quite a bit as well - both are sweeties!

Yes, I will pop in often - I have missed your updates as well - hence my return :)

Quick question, can prunes cause diarrhea? As you know we changed their formula. Well that loosened them up right away! I gave Kenzie prunes still because she loves them! (weird eh?) well today she got diarrhea. I mean the whole diaper was not it but most of it. Do you think it is the prunes or the formula? We have a doc. appt tomorrow so I will ask but I was just wondering.

Also, no cavities! Cavity free for 24 years! (Almost 25 since bday is in May).

Hi Suga -- well, it's kind of hard to tell if a little baby has a diarreah or not and is it not just a very waterly stool? I know prunes do loosen things up, but if the stool has watermark around it then it could be diarreah. Ahyhow, it's good to check with your doc. Oh, and you'd mentioned that the new formula is thin and I was wondering what you mean by that? Cause, when I mix it, it doesn't seem thin to me. Are you packing the scoop pretty well? I am glad the constipation problem is solved for you! Hopefully, that helps with the refux symptom as well.

Well, I better go now cause I have my son in time-out and I am also cooking at the same time (while Alyson is grabbing my legs for attention).

Will post again tomorrow when I log in!

Take care,

Kimi

tolbee: Well it is just a thin formula compared to the Enfacare. Maybe because it is less calories? I dunno how to describe it! Yes I do do the packed scoops. It is just more watery than the other was. But I add oatmeal/cereal to it to thicken it up for their reflux so that makes it ok.

I took the prunes out of her diet today so I will see. I think if it were true diarrhea it would be more than once. Plus it should have started when she started the formula if it is the formula allergy. Just my thinking but I will ask tomorrow.

Suga, I see. My daughter does not get hungry after her bottle so didn't know it's thin. Good luck today! I just got back from their second flu shot at doctor's. They cried of course, but it was just a poke. Oh, and I think you asked about the photobucket website before. It's at www.photobucket.com and the userID/PW is ivfgroup/ivfgroup. I don't post the photos there but many do. Kholtan changed her blog background so I tried, too. I see there is a lot you can do with Blogspot. I need to explore it and see if I can make my page look better. Congrats on no cavity! I am a cavity queen. I think it's genetic! :?

Kimberly, I love your new background theme~! Cute! I take Sean to Chuckee Cheez once in a while when it's raining outside. The other day, Sean has gone into one of those tube maze things mounted high up and he did not come out for a while. I was so scared because he was not able to find a way out and there was no way I could've gone up to rescue him. I was about to grab a Japanese older girl to go get Sean up there, but then he came down. I don't recommend that maze thing until the kids are much older. Good thing Sean didn't turn hysterical. He was calm and looked very focused on finding the way out. So proud of him.

Looking forward to getting my BOB this Friday! Hope weather is good this weekend so that we can use it!

Thanks tolbee! Yeah I need to work on my background. I am not a great computer person so things like that are hard for me haha. I was raised with computers but not like kids today!

Well we went back to the doctor today for their check up after switching formulas. She loves that they are no longer blocked but she does not like that their reflux is still so bad so she wants us to travel to Shans to get the GI specialist to look at them. So I do not know the date yet but I should find out soon. I am not looking forward to this as it is in Gainsville and I hate traveling with the girls. (Plus it is Gator country lol) Hopefully they can get their meds right though so we can get through this thing. I am getting tired of Kenzie choking on her spit up.

In other news, I reported Brooke's weight wrong. She was 14 lbs 6 oz Friday. Today she was 14 lbs 9 oz. So 3 oz gain. Kenzie went up 3 oz as well to 13 lbs 14 oz!

Suga~ Nice job on the no cavity thing. I was that way until I had an ectopic pg. The darndest thing happened. . . I went in the proud woman of a cavity free life and went out with 7 cavities!!!!!! I guess my body quit making a protective enzyme while I was pg and my teeth went NUTS! I also heard that it's very common! They were all pin-hole cavities so they were really small but what a sad loss to claim of fame!
Glad the girls are doing well. Whe mine were eating prunes I could only give it to them every other day or so or they would get too runny. Perhaps lightening up on the dose will help? Good luck in Gainsville as well. I know how crazy Gator country is! :D

Kimi~ Can't wait for you to get your BOB! Hope it's nice! I love you new blog layout. It wsa so much easier than I thought and now I'm all motivated to do more. It's become such an easy way for me to keep up with all my family and friends. I dread those tubes as well. Sounds like Sean is a very confident fella! Good for him. I have been reading "Love and Logic" books to see if we are going to try that and it talks a lot about confidence. I really don't mind the Chuckee Cheese places. My kids love it and they can run around and be crazy and if they throw a fit. . .I doubt we are the first!

DianeC~ SO HAPPY TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!!! Sounds like everything is going so well! I looked at the pics and they are sooo adorable! They look so much alike to me for b/g twins. Their little cheeks are just perfect for pinching! :D Your house ans school seem to be going so well too.. . Good for you. You must be Wonder Woman being able to do it all and raise such smiling babies!

Well, we officially have a temper tantrum thrower! Bodie!!!! What on earth do you guys do? Annelise has sincerely never displayed anything but good behavior so far. . .Yes, I know her day is coming! . . .but Bodie is a HOT MESS 3-5 times a day the past few days! I have bought numerous books and am planning my attack  but until then I thought I would ask the experts! He throws himself down, kicks, cries, arches his back, you name it. If it weren't my kid I would be laughing so hard! He's so small and it's so flippin' funny to watch but I have tried to just ignore him so far until I know what I am going to do??

Suga -- Excellent weight! No wonder your girls' cheeks look so full in photos! Sorry you have to travel so far for the appt. Hopefully your girls can nap in the car. Watch out for theose gators, you mean the aligators, right? I doubt that you would take a skinny dip in the water with the girls, so no worries but keep an eye for those!

Kimberley -- awwww, Bodie with tantrums. Let me tell you, I am not an expert but my Sean is an expert tantrum thrower. What we do with him is to isolate him when he is very upset. So, I put him in his crib until he calms down. That seems to work for him as he has time to cool down by himself. If he has an audience he can keep going for a long time. I've read Love and Logic and I think that is a really good way to raise a child. The application part is the hardest part especially when the child is still small, but it's worth it to try it. I've also read Happiest Toddler on the Block and the author's advice makes sense more towards the end. I think the key is consistency in how you deal with it so we just need to be patient... When you have a big three-year-old (yes, Sean's almost three!) kicking and screaming on the floor, it gets really old and tiring but we have to keep our cool and deal with it in a calm and expecting manner. Good luck! You'll probably deal with it much better than me!

Well, it looks like Alyson has to wear this collar called Torticollis Collar to correct the head tilt she has. She tends to tilt her head to the right when she is relaxed. It looks like two tubes wrapped around the neck and it seems a little uncomfortable. I am hoping it gets corrected in a couple of month. I thought it would be best to address it now before it gets hot. She's been working with a PT but the tilt is not getting better.

Well, better make dinner while the twins nap. I am addicted to Rocky Road ice cream these days. I figure, this is probably is the only time I woudn't feel too guilty or restricted to eat it so I've been eating it everyday. We'll see how much I gained at the next OB appt...

Kimi~ Bummer about the neck thing-a-ma-jig for Allyson. I really never noticed it in any of the photos at all. Has she tried it on yet? Does it bother her at all? Hopefully she will get it corrected ASAP and not have to wear it very long at all. I seriously have to go to your web page often to get my Aly fix! I just love her big smile and she just looks like the happiest baby ever! The new bow pic is great too!
Thanks for the tantrum advice. I initially tried the crib but my kid can go on and on and on and on. . . :? He's very strong and determined but he's also my cuddle bug. I'm seriously hoping that boy or girl this new baby has Anna's layed back ways.
Go for the ice cream every night I say!!!! :D I know I haven't gained weight but I do think my muscle has turned to jello and the few extra lbs. . . .alright 8-10 extra lbs. is still here anyway. This week has been funny because I went from super hungry to food not sounding good at all. It's been hard to force myself to eat lately and I always feel full? Wish this were my problem when I am not pg! I find out the sex on Feb. 17th! I should make a countdown ticker for it I'ms o excited!

Kids are up. . .No rest for me!
