Acupuncture, well because I am older and have only one shot at this I decided to try everything possible. I had read studies that suggest it can help, actually there have been some conflicting studies suggesting some AP treatment does not help, that may be because of poorly trained APs. The main finding so far is that is helpful relax and deal with stress but studies have shown a direct link between the amount of stress and success with IVF.
My AP feels my digestion was not up to par and suggested a diet that will make it easier for my system to pick up nutrition from the food that I eat and is better for me along with natural vitamins and fish oil. She claims she can see a difference and I can say for a fact that my digestion is much better so she might be right about that part. It has been helpful in my ultrasounds so far! She also claims that there are certain spots in the body that can be stimulated to increase blood flow to certain areas, that is for sure very important! I really can't say at this point if it can directly help with the IVF process itself but we shall see this week once my follies start to grow what she is able to do for my slacker of right ovary that is always behind. So far we have mainly worked on my digestive system but on Tuesday we will focus on ovaries and such.

I have had previous experience with using AP for bad AF cramping with great success so that is why I was willing to give it a try in the first place.

My insurance covers it so that helps but I would suggest researching a good AP if you are thinking of trying it.

Hope this is helpful information, feel free to ask any questions.

Gosh so much is going on. We now have so many lucky ladies going wacky on hormones for stimming. YEY. This board will start rolling.

Congrats to all that are starting their stims.

Molly - I am also going to be on the antagonist cycle. Though I will be doing follistim instead of gonal f. From what I hear they are pretty much the same thing. The difference between the antagonist and some other cycles is that the antagonist you start to stim first and then add in the antagonist (ganirelix) to keep you from ovulating. Other cycles you start out on lupron before stims and the lupron keeps you from ovulating. The antagonist isn't supposed to produce a lot of follicles but you are supposed to get better quality eggs.

Can anyone tell me why oh why my nurse only ordered me 10 vials of menopure? Even after I left a message asking them to make sure the perscribed me more then they did last cycle. UUUGGHHH they did this to me last time I cycled. So here it is. I take 1 vial a day until they add in my ganirelix. Then once they add in my ganirelix they will up my dosage to 2 vials a day. Last time i didn't know they would up my dosage to 2 vials and if I had to stim 1 more day I wouldn't have had enough meds. For the last cycle I only stimmed for 7 days and this cycle I am going to try and do my damdest to stim for more the 7 days. So obviously I already know I will have to order more menopure. Wouldn't be a problem but my Pain in the A** insurnace company has to approve all the meds I buy so it won't be an easy task to get more. I just figure I will stimm for 5 days and then call the insurance company and get the ball rolling. i guess it really isn't a big deal just another hurdle. I hate hurdles, why can't everything be easy???

Well, gots to get back to doing homework. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Who is off tomorrow for MLK day. I am taking the day off and then also taking of Tuesday because I have to take this certification test. i will only have a 3 day work week this week. YEAH!!! It will make time go by faster. Next Sunday is my last day of BCP's.

SIS - You are so right. I have to get some PMA. Starting today it is all peaches n cream from here. I am having PMA.

Sorry about your drugs being stuck in customs. That sucks. Do you know if you will be getting any of them in time for you to use them?

Hey ladies, I'm here! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been busy with work and stim meds and family visits. I had my last u/s and bw this am and I get to trigger tonight!!!!! I'm so excited. I'm off tomorrow for MLK and we go in at Tuesday @ 8:30 for ER and TESE. I'm going to a friends tonight to make some cards and take it easy since DH is at the fire station tonight.

So as of today I had 25 total follies. The RE didn't measure all of them, but only the big ones. I have 9 that are mature (he didn't tell me the sizes) and 6 right behind. He said typically after the HCG, about 80% of the eggs that aren't quite mature will mature. So, I'm really hoping for some good numbers on Tuesday.

I'm nervous about hyperstimulation. They told me at the beginning I was at risk for it, so what should I be looking for symptom wise? My belly has actually been swelling after I eat the last few days. It's like I've scarfed a boat, and I'm not eatting anymore that what I've always eaten. So any advice? I'm drinking my water, and I've heard not to drink gatorade because of the sodium content. I've cut out my red meat and have been eatting my protein. Does anyone know any for sure signs that I'm overstimulated after Tuesday?

I'll let everyone know how it goes on Tuesday...lots of positive energy!

Hey everyone…so I am officially stimming again! WOOHOOO!!! Went this AM for my baseline sono and BW. Nurse called this afternoon and gave me the ok so I will start out with 2 vials of Menapur and 2 of Bravelle tonight and tomorrow. No BW tomorrow but BW on Tuesday. I am so happy I don’t have to go in tomorrow cause I am exhausted. I have to leave my house at 5:30am in order to get to REs office in time for same day results. I drove both ways in a snow storm this morning. OK it wasn’t that bad but still…I hate driving so far in the snow! I am happy not to have to go back til Tuesday. I am so excited!
espinozal23…what a nice dream your friend had! Keep PMA!
Sisi...I am excited we will be so close with our cycles! Don’t worry about the needles…its all for a good cause right? Where did you get your Gonal F from? I didn’t realize you could order this stuff from out of the country!
waiting for 4…congrats on starting stims…I know how excited you must be!
Molly…hope AF comes soon! I also will be using Antagon as I did my last cycle. This is my second cycle so I never did it another way.
to_have_fun08…I am on Menapur too and I would definitely ask about why they gave you so little. In my last cycle I think I went through 2-3 boxes…I did use the Bravelle more but still. I understand about the insurance…even with our coverage we still had to pay over $3000 for my last cycle. I have some left over for this cycle and Res office said they would give me donated meds for the rest.
Mandeekins…congrats on triggering! Good luck…you will do great! One question though…why did RE say you are at risk for OHSS? I wish I could help here but I never made it to ET last time. I was very swollen after ER but up until then I was ok. Still fit in my jeans and other clothes. Have you been weighing your self everyday? I keep a calendar that I mark all my meds and weight in so I have a running record.

So much is going on now on the board…so exciting! Well off to watch football with DH and get my PMA in order!

Congrats all around! Yay for our thread!

Mandeekins- you must be excited for trigger. It sounds like you have some good follies. I have a question about your TESE. It is being done on the same day as ER? Does your clinic do the TESE there? When we did TESE, it was at a different drs office, a male stuff dr, and it was like a half an hour away from clinic. I remember dh had it done and then we needed to drive asap to drop off at the clinic and they froze whatever they found and then thawed it the day of ER. I think it was partially because they were afraid they wouldn;t find anything and then my stimming and cycle would have been a waste. I wish we could do it all on the same day to avoid the freezing and thawing charges which insurance does not cover, but i guess we can't take any chances either.

prayin- happy stimming! Keep up the pma!

ok, I am alos off to watch football...my poor brother, he is a huge eagles fan and they are losing miserably...I am watching, but don;t care as my patriots did not make the playoffs...so sad...but atleast I have inauguration stuff to keep me happy!

I have been so tired this time with the lupron(1xdaiy) and the estradiol(2pills a day). My tummy is so bloated and I am still having really bad headaches.

It will all be worth it

Hope you all had a good weekend, back to bed I shall go. I will keep checking in on you guys in between my naps :)

Well, the movies done.. we watched Another Cinderella Story. It was pretty good.

Well ladies, You are so Welcome. I guess I just have so much time in my hands... I enjoy it though. I love reading everyone's progress and I update it as much as I can. So if I ever leave anyone out.. I'm sorry. But feel free in helping me keep it updated as much as possible.

Well, I have just started my BCPs.. and I wish I could be in the stims process already. It just feels like it is going to take forever to get there. I am trying not to get to overly excited like I did last cycle. In the last cycle, I was so sure it was going to work and I was and still am so heart broken that it didn't. I kept a calendar and now I have made a new calendar... basically I write down every detail of my cycle. it lets me see the progress I have acomplished. Basically I would look at the calendar every single day... now, I haven't even looked at it since my RE appt. on the 9th. Since I don't work tomorrow, I will probably sit down and pull the calendar out and update it. Once I stop BCPs, I will have to go thru another dreaded wait for my AF to come and I think that was the hardest. Sorry, Im just venting. I guess, i am just worried that this cycle will not work for me again. I am trying to have so much PMA.. but it hasn't hit me yet. I guess I will just take it one day at a time. I kind of hope I would have just started right away in December so that I could have been doing ER/ET this month.

Anyway ladies, I will check with yous later.
