hi wonder, as for the nursery- i watched a tv show- sarah's house, and fell in love with her nursery, and just made my decision to copy it. it's gender neutral, which i want...and more on the classy side than cute, which is more to my taste. when the baby's older- they can choose a cutesy room, but for now, the room is more for me. here's a link so you can view it"

kas..sorry to hear about the yucky bruise. and NY glad your arm survived. it's very sunny here in south west BC, a bit chilly too, but i'm going to try to enjoy a nice day- shake those blues.

Yeah!!!! Congrats NY4thtry - That is awesome. Keep us posted. Hopefully you will also have some to freeze so you won't have to go throuth the 7th time to conceive a 2nd child if that is what you want. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi Ladies! It's been a while.....I had my d&c 2 weeks ago and I'm starting to feel a little better. Karen - I'm so happy you and the little one are well.
I know Karen took DHEA, but my question is really for anyone that has some input. I bought some today at GNC and it is 25mg (I guess it is normally for men, right?????) Anyway, how much should we take?

NY - what did you do this time to get so many follies?? What protocol did you do? I'm just so sick of doing the same thing and getting the same results!

Hello Ladies,

Congrats NY, I am so excited for you, that is a great number! I certainly pray for you!

Some of you were wondering about IUI after IVF and taking a step down. Well, I also had to take a financial step down. I think IVF didn't work because my anxiety and blood pressure were so high due to the bills I was in shock, oh, and my embryo quality was terrible one 7A- one 8B and the other seven fertilized were C qualtiy and only 6 cells rather than 8.

When I first went to the fertility clinic, I had tried IUI as a requirement from my doc (not insurance or anything becaue they didn't cover squat) She said, it is easier than IVF and if it works I wouldn't have to do IVF. You can only imagine my glee when it worked the third and final try (with clomid which I detest).

Then I miscarried

So I tried IVF and it failed and though it was a scam to try again because it was twice the price as another clinic across town. Then all that goes through your head, they know me, I like my doctor, they have better results than the cheaper clinic.

I was going to move from IUI with clomid to IUI with gonanatropins but opted to jump up to IVF because the doc said it was the fastest way to get prego, I thought it was the fastest way to get back what I had lost so we did it and it didn't work out.

So I went back to my original plan, IUI had worked for me before why wouldn't it work again, it just would take a few months, I braced myself for that but then was trapped in the cost again, it was about 5 grand, they take E blood levels, constant u/s, it wasn't much cheaper really so I complained about being so broke, having loans and all that. My RE worked with me and we created our own protocal just for my cheap sake. I didn't want to order another $1200 of follistim so I used my leftover IVF meds because these cycles cost about 5 grand (3 cycles IUI+ gonanatropins = IVF costs). I only had 2 e level checks 2 u/s and only stimmed for 5 days.

I confused my RE, she didn't understand why I was taking less med than with my IVF and was getting a better result, I think it was stress related but also I was taking one DHEA per day preovulation. I thought, well, it can't hurt. It was 1/3 of what I should have taken per day but I didn't want to overdue it. I said, less meds make better quality embryos, she said true. Hopefully the DHEA increased the egg quality and number of eggs. I know God has a part this for me also.

The final reason was why not, I had open tubes, I ovulated, my DH had sperm everything was in place, some women aren't as fortunate to even have the option of IUI due to ovarian and tube issues, I am really lucky and believe that daily...now just have to get through this pregnancy without loosing anyone.

JDC

i was on the same protocol as last time lupron then ganarelix then 750 iu fllistim for the first 7 days dropped to 525 for 6 days .. supplemental estrogen shots twice a week and suppostiories.. luveris towards the end..

I think it was the "healthy living i have been doing.. totally cigarete free for 6 months.. acupuncture 2x per week chinese herbs..
Also i have been taking bee pollen royal jelly alapha lipoic acid 200 mg vitamin d per day fertility blend vitamins from gnc..
Also the re had me take 100 mg of pycnogenicol a day which is supposed to be good for egg quality.. i took DHEA for like 6 weeks in sept but my RE was really against it so i stopped.. I was going to do it anyway but DH ratted me out to the DR..

Fun.. if i get pg this time i will be SO happy with 1 baby.. i dont think we would go for another DH is freaked out enough about 1..

you gu=irls will laugh.. he actually complained today about how hard this is on him.. i wanted to punch him...

NY amazing results, i'm so happy for you..... I also want to know how many you are putting back???

JDC Good to hear from you, I also did the DHEA and got the 25mg ones from GNC just like you. They aslo sell it at Walmart. I took 3 daily for 2-3 months and my number of eggs and quality increased. This time all 4 of my 3 day embryos implanted thats 100% compared to last time 0%.... Give it a go, i had no side effects and would recommend it to anyone :)

well NY- i'm so thrilled. can't wait for more positive news.

JDC-welcome back!! so happy to hear from you. the standard DHEA dose is 75 mg a day, 50 in am, 25 at night. and to take for minimum of 2 months before stimming, and it's thought to max out at 4 month point. i had transitional symptoms when i started it that freaked me out, but they went away- some anxiety, insomnia, heart raced the odd time..and then i felt great on it. it's also known as a 'fountain of youth' supplement, as it re energizes. go to NY center for human reproduction and put in DHEA in the search area (i think at bottom of home page), and tons of wonderful information comes up.

i'm tired tonight. i'm definately developing a belly. looking pudgy, not pregnant, but that's ok.

love to all,karen
