Hello Ladies - I hope you dont ind my butting in here - but I have been reading your posts and just wanted to wish you all the best. For those of you still waiting - a MASSIVE good luck (I really do know how awful the last few days are)

Grandma - you are so amazing to be on here - I know what my Mum went thru when our ICSI failed last year (we too have v severe male factor) - she was so upset - I remember her saying that she would literally cut her own arm off if it helped me have a baby ! Mother / daughter love - very exceptional eh?!

Re youe query about whether sperm quality effects outcome- its really hard to get a straight answer on this - and to be honest our doctors have failed to give us much reassurance.....but I think sperm quality effects the numbers of eggs that fertilise (and even this can be overcome to some extent with ICSI - is that what your daughter had?), but doesnt necessarily affect the chances of a successful PG. Its all pretty vague - and I have read stuff that says you can miscarry in a normal PG because of poor sperm quality...so who knows - I think its largely luck of the draw. but your daughter is SO YOUNG - she has such of good chance of it working next time, even if you needed to wait for a bit -altho I know how hard that is to do!

Take care all
Cazxx

PS - Hi July ann !! - good luck at Crufts!!

Grandma - sorry to hear your news, i hope you daughter is coping ok

Miracle - don't worry about the spotting i was told this was quite normal, i didn't get any and i had a -ve so i will keep my fingers crossed for you

I've been busy doing all the jobs i didn't get round to doing while i was on the 2ww and af has just arrived with a vengence. I'm not sure when i'll get to pop the frosties back in as i've got to wait weeks to see the doc but i think they usually make you wait 2/3 mths to get all the drugs out of your system and let your ovaries recover fully.

Good luck to those testing tomorrow

Hey Dizzy, nice to hear from you again.

I've no idea how long you might have to wait for the next cycle but the rest, chance to drink coffee and red wine again will help pass the time I'm sure.

Good luck with the next round,
hugs

Hello girls

I have a question to ask and feel a bit silly!! My scan went really well on Friday and Im due for EC on Monday, but today im not sure if ive developed thrush. Everything seems to be a bit different to normal!!! Or is this a side effect, anyone else experienced this?

Hi There fantastic cycle buddies,

Grandma, am so sorry to hear your daughters news, is so sad when things don't go as we want them to. Often it takes a few cycles of IVF before the magic happens and we have our beautiful babies to love (I'm still waiting!!), but that doesn't mean it won't happen. She has a gorgeously supportive mum though, so she's very fortunate in that regard. I was told to wait three cycles before I could try again, but I think this was extended because I had Ovarian Hyperstimulation and developed a blood clot from the egg pick up, but regardless, it was a good time to put that all behind and me and get those positive vibes again..She'll get there grandma, its just a matter of time! :D

Angelina: Good luck for your egg colection, I get LOTS of thrush unfortunately :? , my consultant said that I needed to hit it hard with drugs before embryo tranfer, but I don't imagine its an issue for the pick up stage. I take acidophilus supplements three times a day and use Canestan pessaries (not sure if you have them in the UK) but this seems to work quite well. Good luck!

Sophie Jane - your dream sounds promising. I've been dreaming about being in the middle of a bush fire and people bringing me baby kangaroos (really really tiny ones) to tend to and make strong. I have found I've dreamt quite vividly during IVF, maybe the drugs??? :?

Well, I'm day seven today, so was time for another HcG shot in the bum....YOW!!!!!!!!!!!   . Dh is such a star though, I bit a tea-towel so I wouldn't alarm the neighbours! Am feeling nothing really, I get the lower abdo ache occassionally, but boobs and nipples feel remarkably normal (though dh appears somewhat alarmed that I keep "testing" them?!?!?). Am feeling like I just want the 2ww to be over, am half way today though, so am now officially on the home straight!!

Take care all
Belinda :D

Loopy....can I have my piece of cake anyway please??? I'm such a pig! Your symptoms sound....well, like you're pregnant! Needing naps and sore boobs all sound like your body gearing itself up for the job ahead. Fingers crossed. Being nosey now, how old is your step-son/DH's son? I did a double take when you said he was in the army and your DH is only 40!

Angelina, sorry can't help with the infection question. I'm not sure which country you're in, but is there no one you can ring for instant medical advice? I remember reading that natural yoghurt can soothe thrush but you might not want to be squirting it up you the day before EC !!!!!!!!!!! Good luck and I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

Now, you Dreaming Girls....good lord! foam in the trainers and looking after tiny joeys.....what ever next?

Am on Day. 11 and feeling very, very bloated and pre-AF. I was convinced it had begun when I got up this morning and wouldn't go to the loo to check (the opposite of my usual behaviour). I waited and waited, I even told DF it had begun....then only later checked and nothing...odd. It's due tomorrow. I think it's because I'm very busy reconciling myself for another negative and preparing to move on. DF and I will take a holiday in May if I'm not, plus blow our budget in a very special restaurant for my birthday later this month. It has no menu and is v. trendy, they choose beautiful wines for each of the 7 courses.......we're strict veggie so have to ring ahead and beg the chef to feed us, there'd be nothing suitable otherwise....being vegetarian here is like saying you live next door to Elvis.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend (except Bel who, at 0400 is hopefully fast asleep).
love
Debra.

Good afternoon Ladies!!!

Hope all of you are having a relaxing weekend!!!
It looks like a lot of us test around the same time....
What is everyone feeling right about now???
I am still having side effects to the projesterone, sore boobs, tired, is anyone else on projesterone oil shots???
I HATE THEM!!!!!
ANyway, because I would normally have AF around now or on the 9th, should I have af symptoms??? If I don't is that a good thing?? I am not crampy at all.
I have read lately that women who experience cramping and AF symptoms before their BETA test it could mean that the test could be negative???
I have been experiencing some funny twinges around my right ovary too.....????
The worst thing about all of this is the side effects of projesterone are the same as early pregnancy symptoms!!!!!
So if anyone out there is in the same boat as me please explain to me, or help me get through this.
PS. I have been more depressed lately than before because I know I don't have any back up embryos. I need some advice.
THANK YOU
XOXOXOX
REGANKATE
wish you all the BEST!!!!

First of all the twinges are normally a good sign so dont feel negitive about them at all , most of the girls on the other side have experienced AF pains before the test day and have all got BF+. the pains in the ovary means they are just filling with fluid and returning back to normal. You are probably feeling down because of all the hormones kicking around in your body this is very common but you must try and stay positive as this will helpyour embis inplant and feel nurtured. Hopefully you wont need any more TMT as this may be the one .
Hang in there
