HELP!! Twins measuring different size????

Post by brenda3 »

Hi Thanks for looking.

Question I had my U/S at 8wks 1 day and Baby A measures in at 8wks even and HB 160. Baby B measures at 7wks 3 dys HB 156.

With my first IVF pregnancy I also was pregnant with twins and lost one at 7wks 3-4 days.

Is this a repeat?????

Do they often measure that much of a difference??

Also at midnight last night I had some slight cramping and when wiped (3 times) had red blood and mucus, but nothing in my panties (not heavy enough) Is this a sign that I am losing baby B?????

Today I am 8wks 4days and it is making me very nervous, Any information would be helpful.

Thanks
Brenda

Brenda~ Don't worry this is very common. Mine were measuring 5 days apart for months and I also spotted like you describe. That too is very common. Just take it easy and relax if you can. This is more the norm than anything. Congrats on twins!!! They are a world of fun!

Good luck and enjoy this special time!

Hi... I too spotted AND at one point VERY early on I had a few days difference between babies - right now I am watching BOTH of them sleep right in front of me... Your babies sound very healthy esp given those wonderful heartbeats! Please stay with us so we can follow your good news for months and rejoice at their birth!

It's very common for twins to be a few days apart. Mine were for the first several weeks. Don't worry, everything sounds perfect!! Congratulations!

Hello brenda3,

Your babies might be measuring different because they implanted at different times. For example, one baby could have implanted right after transfer and the other one might not have implanted for a few days later. As you know, there are a few days in which your babies can implant following transfer. I would still call your RE and tell them your symptoms especially if you are experiencing cramping along with the spotting. I was pregnant with twins and I started the same thing at week 5 and I lost one but the other is doing just fine.

Good luck,

Angela
