Compacted Embryo???

Post by 3xys4us »

Yesterday I went through my 2nd IVF embryo transfer. Out of 10 embryo's there was only one left to transfer. The Dr. described the embryo as "compacted" and told me it is less likely to be successful than a blastocyst. Does that mean 50% less of 2% less...she didn't explain. I am so confused. Has anyone else had this type of transfer? Is it worth getting my hopes up? Any thoughts are welcomed. :?

This is a 5 day transfer?

I think she means that it's a morula - basically a ball of lots of cells - which hasn't had the cells differentiate into a blastocyst yet. Since that's one more step it has to go through for things to be successful, the chances are lower than if it were a blastocyst by the time of transfer.

Yes, it was a 5 day transfer. Do you know how much ths odds go down with this type of transfer vs. a blastocyst? Thank you so much for your response!
