Hi Carolyn,

I am currently posting in the jan/feb/march 09 buddies, but I am towards the end of their thread, so I will join here too. I love following everyone's cycles anyway and the more people I get to know around here, the happier I am.

Well, as long as we don't hit any snags along the way, I will start stims on 2/20 with ER/ET the week of march 2. DH has sperm analysis on monday, we have consult of thursday and I have already started bcp's and all the preliminary testing and bloodwork. Everything looks good so far.

We are expecting dh to probably need to go through TESE again, even though we have some frozen sperm, they are afraid it is not enough. This is our 2nd ivf w/icsi and hopefully it will be as successful as the first. The first try resulted in my beautiful baby girl who is 4 and a half months old...so we are trying to bring her a sibling while we are still in baby mode.

I look forward to following your journey and hopefully we will get some more people to join.

Carolyn - I remember you from past boards so I just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your ED cycle. I have seen quite a few ladies do donor egg in the past few months and everyone has ended up with a BFP. Two have ended up with triplets so I think this will be your time. Good luck!!!

Hi CT

Of course the more the merrier!

Wow you got BFP on your first try am soo delighted for you - I understand that the TESE is not the nicest of procedures - hope all goes ok for DH.

Not long till you start stims am sure you will not hit any snags .. PMA... PMA !!

Where are you from ??

I am from UK and had 2 previous iVF with iCSI - both BFN - but due to my age and poor response to stims RE suggested ED so thats what we are doing this time!

Looking forward to cycling with you and getting to know you !! - hopefully some more will join us soon !!

love

Hi Carolyn,

I am so sorry to hear you have not been successful yet, but hopfully this will be your time. I have seen a lot of success stories here with ED.I am looking forward to cycling with you.

I am from connecticut, in the U.S., hence the username CT (abbreviation for Connecticut). I know, I wasn't very creative with my name...lol

Well, DH had sperm analysis this morning and I just got the phone call, they did not find any sperm, so nothing to freeze. We kind of expected that, but were hoping they would have atleast found a few. Since we have one vial frozen from last TESE, I figured even if they got a little today, he wouldn;t have to go through it again. We have a consult with RE on thursday and my guess is that he will reccomend the TESE again. But we shall see.

Yes- we were so blessed to have success in the first try. It makes me hopeful for this cycle, but I don;t want to get my hopes too high, only because I know the percentages. I am doing everything I can to try and keep the PMA.

Ok, gotta run, but will talk to you again soon.

Hello everyone,

I have just had my cycle cancelled and have decided to try again in March for a couple of reasons a) I hear back to back cycles are not the best b) my right ovary does not produce as well as the left, an expensive lesson I learned during my IUIs in the summer.

My cycle was canceled due to over-suppression. Next time I am trying an antagonist protocol. I feel kind of let down after getting all geared up and then ending up canceled so early on.

My plan is to try to loose a few ponds to bring my BMI to an optional 25 or less and to continue with the acupuncture treatment I have already started.

I don't expect to start stimming until after March 25 so this thread is perfect for me. We are paying all out of pocket and will only have one go at this so I am hoping this protocol works out better for me.

What kind of protocol are you all doing?
41, unexplained (plain old) fsh 4.7
DH 55 lots of good swimmers
3xclomid BFN
3xIUI BFN
First and last IVF:
A) canceled due to low response on day 3
B) Negative beta April 06/09

Hi there! I am also beginning a DE cycle - we expect the transfer to be the 3rd week of March. Its great to have someone else to talk to going through a donor cycle at the same time. It is different than a cycle with your own eggs...

Wishful- sorry to hear you are not feeling so well...hope you feel better soon.

Riley- welcome, and i am looking forward to following your journey and learning more about ED.

Sisi- I am sorry to here about your canceled cycle. I was posting with you on jan/feb/march buddies. I am still over there, but wanted to join here too since I will be towards the end of the other one. I hope the antagonist route will work better for you, I think that is what I did, and will do again.

As for me, I go for consult tomorrow. I should find out more then, like if dh will need TESE again, and how optomistic ER is this time around. I will update you all tomorrow.

Hi sisi and Riley - welcome to the thread

Sisi - so sorry your cycle was cancelled - all crossed for the next one - we too have to pay for our treatment and its so frustrating to spend all the money and have nothing to show for it - so what will they do different on this cycle?

Riley - oh great a felloe ED !! - where are you having your treatment ? -have you had previous IVF ? I think the ED is much less drugs although the one I am taking at moment to bring on AF is horrible - its giving me really bad indegestion and nausea

CT - hope appointment goes well today - keep us posted !!

Anyway must dash off to work - catch you all later xxx

Hi Carolyn

Can I join you over here as well?

Hi Michelle, I am around the 10th March for FET I start down regulating on 8th Feb. You mentioned TESE? I am sorry I don't know what that is? Congratulations on the birth of you baby girl, good luck with your consult tommorrow.

Hi Sisi I am doing a FET so an easier cycle than the whole IVF process, I fell pregnant last year but lost my baby through a miscarriage so we are trying again with 2 of our frozen embryos.
Like you we are paying also, we are from the UK so do not get any of our treatment on the NHS. I had a cancelled cycle and it is so disapointing when you are all prepared for it and then it does not happen.
What is an antagonist protocol? I have been doing this journey for years and I am still coming across terms I have not heard before!! Good luck for this time around.

Hi Riley It looks like we might be transferring around about the same time! Another person using Donor eggs, I am also using donor eggs, from my sister, is this unusual to have so many of us going at the same time? This has to be a good sign its the year of the donor eggers!! When do you start down regulating?

Good luck everyone and look forward to sharing your journeys with you

Lee xx
Finally I am a mummy, we are about to adopt our beautiful little girl xxxxx

Sara- Hi there, and welcome! I am so sorry about your m/c. I have read your story on some of the threads here. I think it is great that your sister is your donor...what a fantastic sister you have! And I am still learning new things on these boards everyday. TESE stands for testicular sperm extraction. Our infertility is male factor. DH has no sperm in ejaculate, but thank goodness he has some there, they just need to surgically remove it. Very "not fun" for dh. A lot of ladies on these boards will joke about dh "sharing" in the ivf pain too when TESE is needed. We kind of looked at it that way too, but I am sure he didn;t want to "share" again, and I really don;t want to pay the fees again. We thought they got enough last time for multiple procedures, but now they are saying he may need to do it again, we should find out today.

Someone may have to correct me on the antagonist cycle, let me see if I am right. On an antagonist cycle, you stim and aout half way through you start taking a drug, the antagonist, to prevent ovulation. On other cycles, I think women take lupron to shut down ovaries ahead of time so they won;t ovulate??

Ok guys, I have a favor to ask. Ella is in the final round of a photo contest. It starts today and goes until the end of the month. You can vote once a day. If you guys have time and don;t mind, would you like to vote? I will put the link here:

http://www.babiesonline.com/babycontest ... ?page=2001

You can copy and paste, she is right in the middle. Thanks!
I will post later after consult.
I will talk to you all soon!
