Suga--I'm with ya on the gator issue....we BUCKEYES HATE gators! ha ha! Good luck with the g/i appt.

Tolbee--sorry to hear about Allyson's neck issue. I hope it works itself out soon. I can't imagine keeping one of those on my kiddos.

Kholtan--I'm no expert, but both of my kids are really good tantrum throwers. My pedi told me a long time ago....isolate the child, ignore the tantrum, and go on with your life. The worst thing you can do (according to him) is feed the tantrum with attention. Ellie has even thrown up before from gagging while crying. It's heartbreaking, for sure. BUT, I will say, the tantrums happen less and less. I honestly think it's frustration with their language. THey know what they want, but they can't express it....so after a tantrum, I try to sit down with her/him and try to express what I think they might be feeling. Seems to work on most days. I'm going to have to check out the book you mentioned, though. Sounds interesting!

Kholtan - I just saw your ticker - congratulations girl! Gosh you must be so excited - was it a huge surprise?

Tantrums - yep we have them too :) B can really throw them well and I do what Kim does which is to ignore them. She has almost made herself vomit too - little treasures hey! Harry is a quiet tantrum thrower. He just goes down on his knee's then progresses to the floor and may kick his legs a little crying all the while. Both get over them very quickly. H used to do them some time ago and he rarely does them now so I think it is s stage some go through. Mine are more prone to them when they get tired.

I agree that it is frustration with not being able to communicate and I am sure when the language kicks in they will be so much better.

Well, I spoke too soon about B not biting other children - she surpassed herself and bit two other children on the same day. I cannot even begin to say how bad I felt for the kids she bit. One was reading and she snuggled then bit. The other one was in the play ground and she bit him on the back and drew some blood - OMG! I know how I would feel if it were my child it happened too and I would not be happy. So I can imagine how the parents must feel. Gosh, I hope she grows out of it very soon! Apparently in that room (18months to 2.5 years) they have a lot of hassles with biters on and off - so is goes with the age I guess.

Good Morning,

Noah woke up crying last night around 1am and I am a little sleep deprived today. I cannot wait until the weekend again so that I can sleep in a little!

Diane - I've followed your posts in the pasts. I am sorry your Bronte is biting other children. Cute name by the way! A lot of things happen at a playdate and I think most Moms are understanding. You are from Australia, right? I've lived in Chatswood (Northern Sydney area) for three years! I loved AUS and would go back in a heartbeat!

Suga - lol I have my moments sometimes. Yeah, I figured I would just go on diet post baby like I always plan to and never actually do. Sounds like your twins love solids. It's a big achievement to be able to swallow it so good on them! My babies loved sweetpotatoes.

Kim - Thanks! Is Buckeye a football team, too? I thought your username was referring to buckeye beans. The neck collar thing isn't too bad. It's made of two soft clear palstic tubes and the PT said it is flexible. I'd figured it's better to fix it now so that she won't get migranes, neck pain or any other problems it may cause. We'll see!

Kimberley - Thanks about compliments on Aly and thinking of her. She does have bright smiles. She's the type of person who expresses her feeling big and wide. I am hoping my next baby will be like Noah who is layed back. The baby though kicks a lot, more than her bros or sis so we'll see. I have ups and downs on appetite as well, but I think I am finally gaining. I've always had hard time gaining weight in the first trimester and the first half of the second. My vericosas (sp) vain is bad though this time around. I am wearing support hose but the vains keeps popping out on my right leg. Dr says it's normal but it looks very gross. I cannot wait until you find out the gender. It's coming up in several weeks for you right? let us know!!

Well, time for me to actually do my work!
Take care and have a good day, everyone!

The girls are sick with a cold. Kenzie more than Brooke but still. Kenzie was up almost ALL last night. So I got 4 hours the night before last and like 2 last night? I AM EXHAUSTED! I am mean and cranky because of it too. Kenzie coughs all the time, sneezes, watery eyes, stuffy nose, etc. She could not breathe I assume last night. Plus I fed her and she coughed so hard to puked it all up. Then an hour later she was hungry again *sigh* Did I mention I was tired? So she is so off schedule and Brooke is on schedule so they are up at different times so I can not nap! Yes, I cried this morning I was so tired...poor husband.

Anywhoo, I was going to write more but she wants to eat!

Suga~ Sorry to hear the babies have a cold! I swear by this aproach if you want to try it. Mine have had one decent cold and two runny nose things that wanted to be colds but I swear this method has worked sooooo well for us and things cleared up everytime in 3-5 days. I rarely bathe my kids when they start getting a cold. I just wipe tehm down good before bed and slather them up with Vics. LOTS on their chest and I put it on the bottom of their feet as well. It's an old wive's tale but I swear it works. Then I use a cool mist vaporizor every time they sleep and the vics wall plug ins. Kim suggested taht one and I LOVE them!!! It's like a little vapor spa in their room and they don't wake up at night evn when they are stuffy. I do this ALL day long and vinegar and water all their toys every day or every other day until tip top shape. I shall remove myself from my soap box now! :D   Good luck!

Kim~ I find out the sex on the 17th. . .I should start my countdown ticker! I am so excited to know. In the womb Annelise was the mad kicker and Bodie was mellow yellow. . .Not on the outside!!! Mine weren't anything like I thought. They were the opposite but I too am hoping for the mellow layed back baby! Fingers crossed for us both!!!!

Diane~ Yep! We had quite the surprise! We were on the fence about doing IVF again and had jsut decided that if it didn't happen in a year we wouldbe done. Well, we are officially done! Three is all the more I need unless dh refused to get the snippy snip and we have a surprise 4th!
I hope Bronte ends her biting streak soon. My little guy was biting his sister around 12 months for a few weeks and then it just stopped cold turkey. I'll hope the same for you although I'm sure all the other mother's can relate all too well!

Our tantrums are a bit less the last few days from Bodie so I see we have a bit of hope! YEAH!!! Story hour at Barne's and Noble today was a crazy free for all but hey, what can ya do? They are, after all, only one! I wouldn't say they sat for more than 20 seconds at a time but at least we got there and got it done.

Better run. Have no idea what dinner may end up being so I guess it's a good idea to figure it out.

Suga, I'm sorry to hear about the colds....colds SUCK! big time....Definitely get the plug-ins that Kholtan mentioned. The ones I get are by pediasure, but Vicks makes them too. Also, there's these shower tablets that I sometimes use before bedtime. You just drop the tablet in the bottom of the shower, turn the water up to hot, and sit in the bathroom with the door closed and it really helps to open them up. Good luck!

Well, I'm in bad shape today. I somehow caught another stomach bug....so I had to stay home from work today. Thank goodness my dad could come watch the kids for me. I was in no condition to take care of them. I'm feeling a bit better tonight, so I hope I can kick this soon!

buckeye: Hope you feel better soon! Being sick sucks...ugh

Thanks for the advice ladies. I will have to get one of the plug ins tonight before bed time. Ever heard of peroxide in the ears? Drop a drop in there let it sit then take it out? Supposed to kill bacteria and help take away colds? Anyone heard of this? Yeah me either lol.

Never heard of the peroxide thing....that would make me nervous. I don't screw around with the ears....they scare me! I'd be afraid of ear infections.

Hi Ladies, Hope everyone is doing well and feeling better.

We also have colds here....or what I thought was a cold. I finally caved after 2 days of runny noses and decided to take one baby in. Turns out she has an strep throat. Ugg....now I have to go back in an hour for her brother bc I know he has it too. I thought it was just a cold but no........And she has only gained 2 oz in a month so we have to go in weekly now for weight check and decide what to do next....GI maybe? So no good news for me.

Kim~ YIKES! Feel better very soon. Sorry you are under the weather. I cannot imagine being sick with the twins running around. Good luck!

Jade1~ Bummer for you as well! It's probably not too tempting for a baby to eat with strep throat so I wouldn't get too worried about the weight thing just yet. She could have gained weight appropriately and then jsut lost a bit with the strep. I know how you feel though. Bodie only gaine 1lb. in 4 months. We are on lots of protien and if that doesn't work we head to a specialist. If my little fela got sick he would have nothing to lose at all. At least you are keeping a close eye on everything. I hope you home is better soon and the sickness is a distant memory.

Suga~ I'm with Kim. . . .ears scare me! Ears and eyes! I am way to nervous myself! Good luck!

We had a fun playdate today with a friend of mine whose baby is 3.5 months and is 17 lbs!!!! she was almost the same size as my little man! Such a sweet baby too! That was such a fun age when they just cuddled and cooed... makes me look forward to more of it in the near future. I'll post pics tomorrow.
Have a great night everyone and feel better!

Well I in no way did the ear thing. Just wondering if you had heard that before! I did go out and buy a plug in Vicks. Worked for the first half of the night but not the latter. Oh well....

In good news though....Kenzie ate at 10PM (5 oz) and not again till 7AM!!!! I tried to feed her at 3AM after her sister (like usual) but she would not wake up....so I was like ummm k odd, and put her back down. She woke up at 5AM and she needed help getting snot out of her nose. Then I tried to feed her again to get her to go back to sleep. Did not want to eat! Ummm, k? So I patted her butt while holding her and she went back in her crib and woke up at 6:40!!! Now seriously...if she did not wake up at 5AM with a stuffy nose I think she would have gone the night!

So should I do that again tonight? Not wake her up at 3AM after Brooke and just let her sleep? If she wakes up at 5AM should I rock and pat her butt for a minute or will she get used to that next?? Or should I feed her at 5 if she wants it?

Brooke is getting the cold now. Starting out just how Kenzie did *sigh* hopefully she does not get as bad.

Okay everyone, as some of you know my wife and I are expecting twins. She is only 9 weeks so I'm going to enjoy the sleep now and she is as well. Any insights into what we can expect as I have no clue! How much sleep do they get on average every night. I'm used to not getting any sleep, I'm a police officer, but my wife isn't. Thanks for any information, I'm trying to get our budget in order for the arrival in August.

Bigred: August twins are the best! Hopefully she makes it there! Ummm sleep depends on the babies to be honest. On here there are babies that slept through the night almost within weeks. Mine on the other hand are 5 months old and still wake up at night to eat. When they first got home, they were eating every three hours (even at night) so sleep was a no go. Honestly, get them on the same schedule right away and that will save you in the end. Is she going to BF? If so, help her to do it at the same time (they make pillows for twins). I would just let her know that she will be sleep deprived. I honestly do not remember those days too well as I was a walking zombie. HOWEVER it does get better fast! Also, enlist help where you can. Laundry, dishes, whatever people are willing to do. If they can just come and watch the babies while your wife takes a nap that will save her as well. Help is great with twins and I wish I had more of it.

Kenzie is starting to get better. Still stuffy but much better. Her eyes are not as swollen either. So now we are just praying Brooke does not get it!

Bigred: I totally forgot to say congrats! lol! Congrats!!! Twins are the best even though they are double the work they are double the love! You will look at people with just one baby and sometimes say...oh they have it easy...but when you look at yours you get so much more love and smiles!
