CT_Michele - Sorry you and DH are trying to sort through the decision to do TESE. I agree that it's better to be safe than sorry. It'll be well worth it in the end!! I'm sure you're going to be one of those women who have 2 successful IVF cycles back to back! I went online to vote for your baby girl but the site is blocked at work! I'll do it when I get home for sure!

to_have_fun08 - Everything seemed to speed up for me once my meds arrived!! I'm really excited for you!

waiting for 4 - Sorry you're getting headaches from the stims. I had fewer follicles this time around as well... we had 14 removed compared to 21 last cycle but they were MUCH better quality this cycle so maybe there is some logic to it. They had my dose right on this cycle and didn't alter it once. I made a big difference! Wow your ER is only a week away! Best of luck to you!

aspotofTea - Welcome to the board! This is my 2nd IVF cycle....I actually did acupuncture this time around. I was desperate to try anything and my RE recommended it. I went once a week and twice a week during the stim phase. Its very relaxing and calming. I'm pretty stressed in general because of work and I found the acupuncture really helped. We also did acupuncture right before my ET and right after. The acupuncturist came right to the clinic. I was very skeptical at first cause the whole idea of it sounds pretty hokey. I laughed at the suggestion of it actually but now I'm a fan!

Well day 14 is here...I went in for my BETA earlier. I'm sooo nervous right now! I want the phone call already!!

Good morning again!! My RE just called....we’re PREGNANT!! My hcg level is 369!! My RE thinks there may be twins in there!! She said I need more folic acid in addition to my pre-natal vitamin so she’s calling in a prescription for me. I just can’t believe it! I go back for my 2nd BETA on Sunday morning and if all goes well my first ultrasound is next Friday. This doesn’t even seem real. I’m so happy I’m crying! DH works at the same company as me but is usually in a different building…as luck would have it…he’s here for a meeting so I just met him in the staircase and told him the good news! We hugged and kissed, etc…it was great!!

I just wanted to thank all of you for your support and kind words during this cycle!!

CT_Michelle - I know it sucks for DH to do another TESE but I think I would have it done just to make sure there are enough swimmers at ER. That wouldn't be good to have some great quality eggs with no little guys to fertilize them with. Your baby is so cute. I voted for her today.

Robin - Glad to hear that your HCG is finally to 0. Yeah!!! Hopefully AF shows when you want her to so you don't have to wait any longer.

Rosario - How's it going? Are you doing stims yet. I have been bad about keeping up with the board. I payed for all my drugs yesterday and it was on $170. I couldn't believe that. I figured it would be more. It is so nice to have all this crap covered under insurance. Takes a lot of stress off after all the insurance crap is settled.

waiting for 4 - I always seem to have headaches during the lupron and stim phase. Don't know if it is the drugs or just the stress. Hope yours gets better. What I have learned the most about being on this board is that you can't compare one cycle to another. If you start doing that it will just drive you insane. Less follies is better if they are better quality. Good luck at your appointment today.

Yes the first box of meds can be overwhelming. I remembered when I got mine. I started doing research on what everything was and what it was used for. This was before i found this board so I was clueless to the whole IVF process. You will be an old pro with the needles after the first week or so.

Molly23 - Good luck at your RE appointment. Hope your follies are growing like weeds.

Don't really have time for personals, just got back to the office from RE visit for U/S and B/W.

RE said I have lots and lots of follies growing and getting big. He wouldn't give me numbers. He said he doesn't want me getting hung up on numbers. He hates the fact that I'm doing research online and talking to other ladies. He doesn't want me to worry if my cycle doesn't exactly match someone elses.

He said everything looks great so far, my uterine lining is fab, great number of follies - growing like weeds.

RE said I'll either trigger Sunday or Monday with ER either Tuesday or Wednesday!! I can't believe I'm so close!!

They want me back tomorrow (1 hr. 10 min. drive) for B/W and U/S and then Sunday to Cleveland Clinic (2 hrs. 30 min. drive) for B/W and U/S then Monday (1 hr. 10 min. drive) for B/W and U/S, then Tuesday or Wednesday for ER (2 hr. 30 min. drive). I'm going to need a loan just for the gas that I'm using.

To have fun...I hope your AF comes sooner rather than later.

CT Michelle...I hope you get your second little miracle with this cycle!!

Waiting for 4...My headaches were really bad for about 3-4 days straight after I started stims...but have lessened now. Good luck!!! Looks like I'm only 2 or 3 days ahead of you. Hope we get BFP's together!!!

hello ladies-

I am new here and to IVF.I have been lurking around your board for several days and i am in awe of how supportive you all are with each other so I thought I would introduce myself.My name is Jodi and I have a wonderful DH named Richard. We have been married for 6 years and TTC for 15 months even though I knew when we started that I only had one good tube. well, 4 months into our TTC journey we got our first BFP. we had never been soo elated in our lives!! So you can imagine how devestated we where when we learned that it was ectopic! To make matters worse the ectopic was in my good tube. At that time we discussed IVF but there would be financial juggling and saving to be done so we decided to wait and pray that we could some how get a miracle. Well we didnt get another BFP but our insurance policy changed and we now have $100,000 worth of fertility treatment!!!!!
So here I am. I had my first visit with my RE on Christmas eve and I completed my checklist by Jan 6th. AF showed up on Jan 13th, I did my CD3 testing on the 15th and started BCP on the 16th. Today I went to my protocol appt and was told to stop my BCP on Tuesday 1/27 after only 12 days. Then I will wait 3 days and start stimming with Follistim for 10 to 12 days then ER!!! Dont get me wrong I am not complaining because patients is not one of my many wonderful qualities

but I have been sifting through these post and I havent seen anyone who has had a protocol that was this short. what do you think? OMG!!!! as I was writing this the door bell rang and it was my meds! I cant believe how much there is and how many boxes it came in. CRAZY!!! Well I am sorry for the long history. I am still working on catching up on allof your histories but I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and seeing your BFP

Jmomma - Don't worry they way your RE is going your cycle is fine. I have seen lots of ladies only do stims for a couple of weeks. The main thing is that the you are down regulated which is probably what your RE checked at the last appointment. Believe me if it wasn't the correct time to start stims, they wouldn't be starting you on them because it would screw everything up. Congrats on the 100,000 for infertility stuff. That is awesome!!! As far as my PMA is going, I think it might be slowly coming back to me. I was posting on another sight complaining about my PMA, one of the ladies replied that I was always telling everyone else to "get their head out of their ass" so now is the time I did that for myself. I should be OK once I get the news I can officially start stims.

Jenn - Glad to hear that things are going good with you. Yes, that is the downside to being online with a bunch of ladies doing IVF. We find ourselves trying to compare each others cycles which ends up in more stress and frustration. I am sure you are doing good if you are seeing lots of follies. Sorry you have to drive so much. Is there any fun things to do in between where you live and your RE. Maybe you can make a day of doing something sort of out of town this weekend since you have to drive so far.

I have not gotten much work done today. I have been surfing way too much. Now it is time for lunch. Then only 3 more hrs to go before the weekend. YEY!!!

I thought I had posted since I got back from my US but i cant find it...

Everything went great this morning. I have about 19 follicles. 13 of them range from 10mm to 17mm with the other 6 being small. This is about on par with the last one but like I said, they are growing slow so maybe they'll be more mature this time. Apparently my lining looks awesome... it actually shocked the nurse. haha. I guess my body is just as excited about getting pregnant again as I am. I will list the exact measurements when I get back from lunch. I took a picture of the screen w/ my phone but the battery is too dead to open the pictures!!!

well ladies i got an bfn on a HPT again this morning so I am going to go in for my BETA anyway even though I know its not there and going to talk to RE about FET maybe in March

I myself have 1 tube barely good. 1st Tube I had a tubal eptopic pg which is why I only have 1 tube left... so after 9 yrs of trying and nothing, I am assuming it doesnt work. Well, as for your cycle.. The RE should know what he is doing... they always change protocols. Well, hopefully u will enjoy our company and Good Luck to you.

Waitingfor4... how did US go today? Hope your headaches are going away. Hopefully we can find a way to get more PMA on this board, cuz we do have some quiet days. Well, with Tkat BFP, it gives me so much more PMA.

Robin... I am glad that in an unfortunate way that you have a negative HCG. Now u can begin and hopefully get another BFP this cycle and have a healthy one. Let us know your progress.... soon u will be taking meds again. Good Luck, I am glad u r back.

SueQiwi... Welcome to the board. I am with you on feeling discouraged. My 1st cycle I was full of PMA. I was so positive... this cycle it isnt the same. All I can do is hope and pray that it will work. I will also hope and pray it will work for you as well. Good Luck.

Mandeekins.... where are you? When is ET hun? How are your eggs doing? Hope u r feeling better after ER. As for the POIs, i would rubb ice prior to injection and wouldn’t feel a thing. And I had minimal bruising. Also, after doing injections for a few days... have your DH rub your butt (Inject sights) a good massage so that the oil that is built up can spread.

Now as for myself. I am still on BCPs, last one is on the 5th and I start Lupron on the 30th of Jan. Well, I got the call from Pharmacy yesterday regarding meds. I will be getting my Meds on Saturday cuz someone needs to be home to sign for them. 1st cycle my insurance covered all meds and I only had to pay a co of about $126 for everything. This time my doctor has added Heparin and baby aspirin, and instead of Vivelle estrogen patches, I will be getting Dell Estrogen inj. Plus Follistim, etc. Well, my insurance changed policy this year and now all meds are not covered. Heparing came out to $378, Dell was $70 somethign... anyway for my new cycle, I had to pay a total of $567 for my meds. I know it is still good.... it is just an expense I was not expecting. So I had to charge it. But at least I am getting them tomorrow and I can play with them before I begin. My RE told me that they put me on Dell Estrogen Inj., cause last cycle my estrogen was getting low when it needed to remain high so they figure I wasn’t getting enough with the patches. Hopefully with the injections I will get proper dose. Estrogen is supposed to help with implantation process or something. Can’t wait to see the extra vials and needles. Other than that... I am alright.
