Thanks carolyn for the vote!

So here is todays update.

We went for consult today. RE is optimistic since we were successful last time. He says we do not NEED to do TESE but does highly reccomend it. He said if we don;t do it, there may be enough in our frozen vial, we just have no backup. They took blood from DH today to try to figure out some stuff. I guess his FSH levels were elevated last time and if they have gone a lot higher now, then TESE would probably be pointless since they may not be anything left and we would have no choice but to just hope the frozen vial is enough. They looked at the report from last time, and they said the lab tech took 60 minutes to find 8 motile sperm to match with my 8 viable eggs for icsi, which he says is a long time and means not much in that vial. We are going to call the urologist tomorrow and try to book a TESE for soon as we wait for the blood results. Even though it stinks to pay all the fees associated with TESE when we may not need it, we would rather be safe than sorry.

On a happier note- he got to meet Ella. We asked him if we could take a picture of him holding her, and he was delighted. He is such a nice guy. He told us about last months cycles, he said they had 11 people, 8 got pregnant, 2 miscarried and then out of the 6 who were left, 2 have singletons and 4 have twins. Seems like fairly good odds to me, especially considering we have had success and they know what works with me.

Ok, I will of course keep you all updated.

Hey ladies,

I have some leftover endometrin from my cycle. Its only 28 X100mg suppositories but i would hate it to go to waste. I have been totally self pay for my 2 cycles and someone donated some menopur to me on my last cycle and it really helped me out, so if anyone out there is self pay i would be happy to donate this endometrin to you.....

PM me if you want it. It doesnt expire till 02/2010

Good luck and babydust to all of you :)

Hi

Michelle thanks for explaining the TESE and antagonist cycles, there are so many treatments different people have. Glad your appt was good, sorry you need to do the TESE thing again, or rather sorry for your DH, it will all be worth it tho.
I voted for Ella for you she is such a sweetie :)

Hi Carolyn I know I have not really come across anyone who has done donor cycles and now 3 of us in one thread. But then I have never looked before so perhaps I have just never noticed before. I had a friend who was not close but she 'found' out I was doing a donor cycle and then spoke to me about her own donor cycle she did. we are really close now, funny how things pan out in life

Sara/Wishful - I am currently on bc pills and I take my lupron shot on feb 11th. I think my dr uses a different protocol than a lot of others do for donor egg cycles. I do just one lupron shot and its done in the muscle instead of under the skin. It seems like most other people I know of do the lupron shots everyday and just under the skin. I didn't have to take anything to bring on AF - guess that's good since its making you (wishful) sick. Then March 5th I start taking estrogen pills and suppositories. It is nice that there are so many of us doing the donor egg thing! We aren't telling anyone that we are doing this cycle so its nice to be able to "talk" about it with others. We figure if we do get pg then everyone will be surprised when we tell them. When we did our first ivf cycle (my eggs) we did tell people but I wished we hadn't since I had to tell everyone right away that we had no viable embbies and that was hard. That's great that your sister is your donor Sara! We are using an anonymous one through our clinic - IVF Michigan. We were able to see her picture though which I was really happy about. Glad we can go through this all together girls and hopefully we all have our BFPs soon!!! March still seems SO far away...

May I join?

Post by kimbob »

Hello,

I was hoping I might be able to join with you ladies here. I will be starting my first IVF cycle soon. If all goes well at my hysteroscopy on the 27th, then I will start a nasal spray on Feb 9th. Then once AF arrives, probably around 02/20 - 02/22, then I will start to stim. Since I am new to all of this, I'm just guessing at dates, but I fgure I'll wind up with an ER in the 1st week of March. They did mention possibly waiting for a 5 day transfer, so the ET could be in the second week of March.
I am happy to see so many other people will be cycling at around the same time. I think if I have you to focus on and keep PMA for, I will possibly be a little more patient.

Wishful - thank you for starting this thread. I am sure your ED cycle will do the trick and you'll be BFP before you know it!

CT-Michelle - looks like you'll be starting just about the same time as me. I am sorry to hear about the added TESE, but I agree with your thinking that it's better to be prepared. I voted for Ella this afternoon - she is adorable!! Plus she's proof positive that TESE works. Here's hoping for her little brother or sister!

Riley - Good luck with your ED cycle. You are lucky that you have a clinic you can get EDs at. Our clinic does not help women who need donors. I am looking forward to hearing how it all turns out.

Lee - Wow, you have an amazing sister. I can't wait to follow your cycle.

Sisi - sorry about your cancelled cycle. I am sure there was some cosmic reason why and that this next next cycle is meant to be your time!

I will be sending PMA to you all!

Welcome Kimbob.

Kimbob- it does sound like we will be on very close cycles, as long as I don;t hit any snags, but I really don;t expect any, even if TESE doesn't work, we will be cycling and praying the frozen vial is enough.

Hello everyone!

I recognize some of you from other boards. I haven't posted in a while due to some business travel, but I'm ready to hop back on now!

Little bit about me: We've been through 2 complete IVF cycles and I definitely have diminished ovarian reserve. My consult after our second BFN included a discussion on donor eggs - but I'm just not ready to face that yet. I am still 34 (until April  ) and feel that we deserve at least one more cycle before moving on. Of course - I think insurance runs out after the 3rd cycle, but we may be able to squeeze a 4th one in. One day at a time - right?

I will be doing an antagonist cycle next and it will probably be sometime during March or April. My RE wants us to go in February - but we've been going non-stop since September and DH and I just need some time to feel normal. My acupunturist wants us to wait until April - so I'm hoping I can hold out....but there are days I wake up and want to go now!

Enough about me - I look forward to getting to know all of you over the next few months. I am so happy that this thread for Mar/Apr has been started - the waiting is the hardest part!

Hello sprouthaus,

I hear you about the waiting! I would feel the same way if I were you. I hope that you are able to have your dreams come true and that you find success with this next cycle, even if you have to wait until march/april.

CT Michelle, I hope that neither one of us hits any snags!

Hi Kim and Sprouthaus

Welcome to the thread - think its all eartly days in our cycle - but it is nice just to have someone to talk to .. and its good that we can support each other and keep the PMA going

I am on last day of first lot of tablets so now just waiting for Af - then back on the pill .. still seems odd but guess it gives them total cycle control and no fear of me ovulating!!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and all psyched up for work next week ....

Catch youa ll soon

Hi kim and Sprouthaus, welcome, looks like this is going to be a busy thread! :)

Riley that is really nice that you were able to have a photo of your donor, I am taking synarel nasal sparay to shut down my ovaries that don't work much anyway!!! I start that on 8th Feb and AF should come 7 to 10 days after that, then can start on the eostrogen pills and suppositories yes your right Mach seems ages away!!!

Hi Kim looks like we might be right round the same time for ET if AF puts in an appearance when she is supposed to!! I know I am very lucky to have my sister she is as nervous as I am, she does feel some responsibility that she has to have 'good eggs' and no matter what I say I know she does feel it!

Hi Sprouthaus, the waiting feels like forever!! but then it comes around quicker than we think it will, good luck with your next cycle.

Hi Carolyn hope your feeling beter now you will be off those pills, speak soon

Lee xx

Hi all, welcome newer-comers :)

I am happy about what an active thread we have already because like most of you I find the wait until IVF the worst especially now after a canceled cycle.

YEAY, my PMA is back!

I am planning to continue to try to conceive naturally this month. I am more positive about it then I normally would be because I have continued with my AP and maintaining my diet but also and this is my big thing, my breasts have started to get tender prior to ovulation and it's only day 10, normally I do not ovulate until day 18th so something is up!

The only other time this happened was last September when I was doing my IUI's with Gonal-F and my Estrogen shot through the roof! So I am kind of thinking that my body somehow reacted positively to the sudden withdrawal of Lupron and managed somehow to drive up the Estrogen? Having said all this I guess I am kind of hoping for superovulation; earlier then usual ovulation for sure and perhaps even more then one egg. Hence the PMA :-)

In any case ovulation earlier then my usual day 18th would be welcome and would shorten my wait!

TMI warning; I sure will be keeping an extra close eye on my temps and discharge this month!

And here is my point, after 13 months of detailed analysis of every nuance of my cycle I sure have learned a lot about my body, LOL.

Sprouthaus- I recognize you from around the boards. Welcome to the thread. I am sorry to hear about your bfn's, but they say the third time is a charm...so hopefully this will be your time.

sisi- so glad you got your pma back! Wouldn't it be nice to conceive naturally? I think about that a lot, but know it's just not in the plans for me.

I am glad we are getting a bunch of people here, I agree, the waiting to start stinks. I know it will go by quick though. My calendar is so crazy for the next few weeks, with all of the pretesting and possible, or likely, TESE. Semester starts next week, and I still have work from last semester that I took an incomplete for.

I won;t have many clinic/fertility updates for a little while now. DH has a consult with the TESE dr on wednesday. I guess we will also get his bw back to tell us about his hormones and testosterone. I have to go to my regular dr for a physical this week since I had some high blood pressure during my pregnancy and even some afterwards, so RE wants the all clear before ivf again.

I am definitely looking forward to getting to know you all.

wishful - I 'managed' one of those lists in the Dec/Jan thread - I just kept copying and pasting into new posts as more info was available. I'd be happy to keep one for this board as well if the gang is interested. Just PM or post your dates (or lake thereof  ) and I'll start compiling.

Sisi - I think it is really good that you cancelled your cycle. A giant bummer, but better than spending all the money on something that could be less than optimal. I wish our 2nd cycle had been cancelled, but RE still insists it was the right thing to do. After all, we got two good quality embies, same as the first round (different protocols though). DH and I are going to try to conceive naturally for a month or two as well. I don't have high hopes with his low count and my faulty eggs  , but I feel we owe it to ourselves to try now that I've started acupuncture. I will keep my fingers crossed for you with your ovulation this month. My cycle got really out of whack after I was cancelled 5 days into stimming. I don't think this happens to everyone though.

Michele - Keep us posted on DH TESE consult. Are you in school? I am as too. I work full-time and go to school part-time. Sometimes it gets to be a bit much, but I graduate in 20 weeks - so I've got my eye on the prize!

Sara, Kim and Riley - Looks like you will be the ones to start us out? I will need to live vicariously through your cycles! I'm so impatient some days.

AFM - Saw my acupuncturist this weekend and not much to report there. She would like us to wait longer until our next cycle. I guess we'll just have to see how long I make it!
