Hi ladies, I must have baby on the brain because I swear that I posted 2 messages here in the last couple of days but I must have hit the wrong button, because it's not here. Anyway, glad all is well with everyone. I myself think I am finally getting it that this is really happening for me. I know it sounds stupid but I guess the ivf road lends itself to so much anxiety that I guess I never really wanted to get too excited because I was so afraid that something bad was going to happen. As for me, I'm growing bigger by the day. I have a 3 yr old who was born 8lbs 12oz, 21" and on my last Dr. visit, he is recommending a c-section bc my son had gotten stuck during the delivery, and had shoulder dystocia-that for some reason my pelvis may not be big enuf for another baby that size. Plus he is concerned about the nasty tear I got the last time. So as I speak, the day is "planned" for 3/30-we will see if the baby agrees with that. Ha-ha! Happy 3rd trimester to us all!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY! Jenny!!!! 3/30 we have our first birthdate in this thread :)

Baby brain has been here with me for a while...the other day I went to see a movie and 3 days later I couldn't even remember what movie I had seen  when a friend asked me. It took me a good 3 hours to remember (even though the movie was GOOD and had an impact on me!). Oh Lord!

Ladies it is sooo good to see you all back on the thread. I was getting worried.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIT!!!!!!!!! It sounds like you are doing wonderfully!! I was laughing when you mentioned about getting out of the bed and all your limbs are moving, but the trunk won't budge. I can relate to that so much. I will be cracking up next time I try to get up and think of that.

Jenny~ don't worry.....your baby brain is so welcome on this post. I am constantly writing everything down because if I don't I fear I won't remember anything important. The other day I had somewhere to go with my girls and I left a note taped to the cabinet 8:00 wake girls 8:30 breakfast and shower 9:00 pack lunches and bags 9:30 leave. My dad came over and wisely penciled in.....8:15 go to bathroom 8:20-poop 8:21 wipe a@! You get the idea. I constantly find myself losing my train of thought. I lecture EMT classes and I'll be in the middle of a lecture and lose my train of thought and I look at the students and say "ok help me out here, I'm sure someone had to be paying attention". Congrats also on getting an "official" due date!!! How exciting! Was your son on time or early? I was early with my DD, and then they scheduled me for a c-section with my second, and my water broke at 37 weeks, so they truly are the ones who decide. :D

Sonu!!! Where have you been??? I was getting ready to send you a P.M. SOOOO glad to have you back and hear that you are doing so well. How are you feeling? You are getting pretty close!! Have you and DH thought up any names yet? I'm so anxious to find out whether you are going to be having a boy or a girl. Seems like most of the ladies on our post are having girls. I have 3 friends who are pregnant now. I am due april 7th my friends are due april 28th (doesn't know boy or girl), May 1st (boy), and May 17th (boy). Stay well, and keep posting so we know you are doing ok. :)

Esperanza~ dare I ask what movie you went to see?! LOL
Isn't it so funny how our brains seem to shrink while we are pregnant while everything else seems to be growing?

I think DH is ready for me to give birth already. My hormones seem to have taken over, and I have been soooo moody and cranky lately. I went for my glucose test on Friday, and when I got there, the receptionist asked what time I drank the stuff they gave me. The only problem was that they never gave me anything. Apparently 3wks ago when I scheduled the appt they were supposed to give me the glucose to drink, and a big red form with directions. I never got that so I had to stay there for 1 hour (because I hadn't fasted)...then drink...then wait another hour before they could draw the blood. I was so aggravated. Today I worked and DH was to paint the girls room while I worked so we could meet with friends this evening. I got home and he wasn't even 1/2 done. Must have hung around all day and started late. p.s.~ we won't be able to meet up with friends, and we just had a huge argument. I go from yelling to crying and back again. UGH. Feel like I need a vacation from ME.

DONNA--movie? what movie? hehhehehe! It was actually "Doubt" the one I could not remember, for the life of me
Your dad's story is very funny. I see where you get your sense of humor.

I read your post about the placenta. I'm sorry it hasn't moved...what can we do, right? I'm sending you lots of positive vibes to move it to a safer place. You said you had to check back in 5 weeks, maybe it will be different then.

Speaking of dhs, hormones, and nesting...mine came back from his trip and had left his bags in the living room. I'm normally pretty chill about the house, I like cleaness but I'm not a freak, in fact, the house can get messy at times. Anyway, two days later his bags were still seating in the living room; I looked at him and said "I give you two days to move those bags." He looked at me like    and said "yes m'am" hahhhha, I think he was pretty shocked because I had never said anything like that before. The next day I came back from a meeting and the bags were put away. I said "oh thank you honey!" and he responded "well, you told me I had two days, I wanted to do it before the deadline"....I laughed

I went to get my blood tests done today (thyroid, iron, etc) and I did the glucose challenge. I hope I "passed" it! I guess I won't know until next week. I have an appointment with my midwife on Tues, I'll let you all know how it went.

BABYLOVES--did you already go for the 3 hours test?

LUCIANA--how are the triplets? hanging in there?

SONU, JENNY--hello my dears!

Anybody else? I don't trust my memory these days, ehehehe.

Hi Esperanza!
It looks like our thread is slowly fading away. We are soooo close now too. :( I guess everyone is busy nesting and preparing for baby.
Yes, unfortunately the darn placenta is in the same place it was for the 20 week visit. I'm not freaking out about it, but after having 2 previous c sections and knowing they are not easy surgerys I would rather not have anything else to add to the mix ya know.
You made me laugh with the incident with DH and the suitcases. He sounds so funny! The difference is that my DH would have left them there and on day 3 I would have looked like this  and he would have said "oops I forgot" I think for me it's a combo of the hormones and the fact that I like to have everything done early, and DH tends to let things go until the last minute. Not a good combination when baby is on the way. This past week we painted my oldest dd room and next Friday, the beds will come and I will put both girls into that room. Then it will be time to start getting the "nursery" ready. :D It's soooo exciting!!!
How did you like your glucose test??? That stuff was so gross for me to drink. I can swallow any pill, but I hate drinking anything like cough syrup or medicine. YUK. DH was laughing b/c he said that after all the things I have gone through with the IVF. He looked at my face while I was drinking and said "this looks like the worst of it". YUK. Thankfully the test came back o.k. So to celebrate, I had Haagen Dazs and Chips
I actually wanted to ask you, since I see you have a midwife, will you be delivering at a hospital, or are you staying home or going to a birthing center?
How is the weather by you now? We've had snow this past week, and today it will be a high of 20 degrees. BBBBRRRRRRRR.

HELLO TO ALL THE OTHER LADIES OF THE MARCH 2009 THREAD! HOPE YOU ARE ALL FEELING AND DOING WELL!! :)

ladies...how is everyone? Long time no chat...i've been off and on the twins boards...but missed my friends here.
Esperanza and already blessed: i saw your new post, and will probably join you there at some point if this post is still quiet...

already blessed: good job with your glucose test...it was nasty to drink, and i had to do it twice, the 1 hr and 3 hr...my 3 hr came back normal, but it was close, and so i'm trying to cut back on carbs...meaning no extra lucious carbs like ice cream which i'm sure i'll crave in a few days. Have a hagendaaz for me too :)

esperanza: your DH suitcase story was really funny...i think mine would also have left it there as i have to say something at least twice for him to act. How often are you getting to see ur little girl - just wondering since you have a midwife (they probably dont' do u/s?)

jennywit: its good you have a planned c-section already...i might be headed in the same direction as the babies always seem to be transverse or breech...i think they'll give me an epidural anyway (common with twins)..ur 1st baby sounds like a nice healthy weight...did u gain a lot of weight with him? i've gained about 30 so far

sonu: hope you are doing well! write when you can :)

lit: i read your post on the multiples site...have you thought of names for ur little girls yet? must be tougher - i know it was for us...but i think we finally settled on two names....and the ones we originally thought of might become middle names (DH's brilliant idea)

let's try to keep our board alive as we only have a few months left!! :D

Hi Girls!
I moved my office downstairs so the old room can be converted into the babies room - no Internet for quite a while...missed you all. We are no longer those frantic threaders, with lots of questions, hopes and fears. Now our babies are viable and we need to travel inwards to face the big rite of passage to motherhood (first time or one more time). The thread may be silent but I really think we develop a sense of group, of solidarity in our struggles - and that will always be precious.
Esperanza, so DH is back...and helpful! That is good. I am having to rely on my DH for many little things (not always completed as I would had planned) including putting my socks on. It humbles me - I am not very used to need so much help. Glad your sugar levels are low: it deserves a Haagen Das dulce de leche, dont you think?
Babyloves, the test is a bit disgusting. I wonder why I loved Fanta so much when I was a kid. Hope you find it tolerable and pass it with flying stars!
Jennywit, so your C-sec is scheduled! We have the first due date in our group! 66 days to go...take it easy and put your feet up as much as possible!
My dear Sonu, thanks for your kind words on my birthday...I wonder if you are getting help in Mumbai (family, house workers)...Is your husband taking some days off work? I wish you have help so you can dedicate to your baby and not worry about anything else - It is only 36 days (if the moon changes before, you may get an earlier surprise!)
Alreadyblessed, I am a bit confused with the news about your stuborn placenta - does the position makes the C-Sec a risky procedure? What I have read is that in cases of increased risk the C-Sec is always the best option because...most OGBY are well trained to do it whereas not many professionals know how to handle procedures such as forceps, fighting bleeding, etc... I hope you don't worry too much and trust the team you are working with.
I did have to visit the hospital...too much physical activity - supermarket, shopping...my blood pressure went up. Now I have to pee on a jug for 24 hours and take the whole embarrassing thing to the hospital tomorrow. but the blood pressure is already down, as I say in bed most of the time. Rest, rest, rest...horizontally!
Be well!

bed rest

Post by Literatriz »

Hi everyone,
Well, they found a bit more of protein than the normal cuttoffs so here I am - in the hospital, on bedrest. They check the babies twice a day (1 and a half hour each time) and - I never believed that to be possible - I am exausted and not that interested if baby C makes a funny twist at the end. But it is all worth it!
DH has been awsome - he brought me the computer, a Nintento DS so I can play Tetris and tune out insomnia and movies I will enjoy. We both went on a tour through the NICU and I got a tiny diaper used for 28 weeks "1 pounders". I placed it in front of the clock - every time I look at that tiny think I think about walking the extra mile to keep them with me a bit more.
I will keep in touch with you all...we are getting heavier and more and more "inwards" - getting ready for the great moment. I wish everyone a nice week of count-downs!

Lit~ So sorry to hear you are in the hospital dear. I will be saying many prayers for you and your little ones. It is wonderful that you have made it this far though with triplets. You have done a wonderful job. Sounds like DH is a fabulous support for you also. Please keep us informed as to how you are doing
We have pretty much all moved to the March/April thread as this thread and the april thread had dwindled down to almost nil, so you can find myself and most of the other ladies there.
God Bless!

Hey Luciana

I know everything is just going to be fine. Its just a matter of time now. :) I pray that babies hang in for few more weeks in your warm belly before they decide to come out. I am happy that you moved in to hospital in the safe hands of the doctor, they can keep 24 hr vigil on you, how comforting that thought can be. :) My best wishes to you for everything.

Hey babyloves

Glad you passed sugar test with flying colours... :) Few more weeks till you see your darlings!!!
Yup, I have been lucky that except being humangous in size, I am facing no other problem like blood pressure etc. I hope it goes like this till the end...touchwood!!

I am scheduled to have a c-sec as planned before in the last week of Feb unless baby decides to surprise us. Just taking time to 'nest in', clearing closets, buying some stuff for myself and the baby, getting ready for the big day. :D

HUGS TO ALL...GROW BABIES GROW!!

LUCIANA--I'm thinking about you as you are on your bedrest. I'm glad you're staying at the hospital though, that way they can keep a close eye on you. I'm sure those three precious girls will hang in there strong like their mommie. I can only imagine how you're feeling with 3 inside, I went for a walk with dh today and I was feeling "oh, so pregnant and heavy!!!!"

It's cool you can play tetris (it rocks!), listen to your favorite tunes, and keep in touch via e-mail. I know I can get really get distracted with those three alone :) Keep us posted dear. I'm saying a prayer for you tonight, and will ask my mom to do the same (she knows about you all, yes, all the way down in Venezuela and I still tell her about you all!).

Love to my other ladies...our times are getting closer
