Sunshine Doc Update

Post by Sunshine1974 »

Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well.

I had my doc appt yesterday, and demanded my doc treat my condition before I give it another try. I told him they're a fertility clinic not just a place that gets women pregnant. Because this facility is part of a teaching hospital, everything out of the norm has to go through and decisions made by the staff.

His argument is that there is no telling evidence that treating my condition will do any good. My argument is that there is no telling evidence that says otherwise either. I told him I'm not asking for radical treatment, just asking that it be treated as other facilities are treating it.

I thought I wouldn't speak to him another week or so, but I guess he thought I made a valid argument because he called me as I was leaving work. He had gone to the board and presented my argument. They agreed to do it my way for 3 months before I try another cycle, but that they would note in the file that they don't think it will make a difference and they're allowing me to do it against their better judgement.

So I need to make another appt to sit down with my doctor for a gameplan. My plan is to go on the Lupron for 3 months get an updated MRI that is overdue by more than 24 months, and see how things look. If good then start on another long protocol. If the same or not as good then another 3 months.

Fingers crossed, but at the same time I'm looking for an attorney for adoption services as well.

Hi

Mally I am glad you liked the angel, I thought it was sweet, hope you are doing ok. :)

Sunshine good news, you can go into the next cycle knowing you have done everything possible for success. Keep us posted how things go, would you look to adopting in your own country or from another country if it came to you deciding to do that?

I also had my appointment on Monday, they took a lot of blood to check me out to ensure there is nothing wrong with me regarding miscarrying, so I feel much better about that. We are going for a FET around the 10th March. This may be my final try as we are going to put back 2 embryos, if my other 2 do not survive then it will be the end of my journey. If they survive and I do not get pregnant then we have one more try so one way or another by the summer I will be done hopefully awaiting the birth of my baby if not then contemplating what path my life will take next.

So Fingers crossed for us both :)

Hope any news have you had your scan?

Hello ladies. I hope we're all doing well.

I actually have a question for all of you in regards to doing only a frozen embryo transfer. They have 5 good embryos and was wondering if any of you knew what injection protocol is used if they don't do any egg retrieval.

Hi Sunshine,

How are you?

I am doing FET around the 10th March. I am starting synarel on 8th feb and then taking oestradiol from about 22 feb in tablet form then 2 days before FET I start using the progesterone suppositories, but I am in the UK so tmt might be different. Have you put your question up on the general forum board?

Are you thinking of doing it soon or are you still going to have the tmt first for a few months?

Hi Sara. No I haven't added to the general forum as of yet. They're going to treat my Adenomyosis with 3 months of Lupron in a monthly injection and then go on the protocol for embryo transfer.

I'll wait another day or so to post general forum.

Fingers crossed for your next one.

Hi Ladies,

Sorry i have been MIA i have had a CRAZY few weeks, here is the jist of it. After my last posting i was released from my Re and was told to go to my obgyn as soon as possible- that was at 5.5 weeks. The sac looked great and all. I started making my calls to my obgyn to find out that she dosn't do labor and delivery anymore but a new associate did so i booked an appointment with her. i aslo booked an appointment with another obgyn that was recommended by my cousins wife and then i would detemine who i liked better and make my decision. both offices wouldn't see me til i was 7 -8 weeks pregnant. I made the first avaibale appointments and then i called my re and told him that they wouldn't see me and that he released me too early. i asked him if i could come in for a follow up and was told since i feel ok that i didn't need to see him and just to wait until my appointment but if there was anything out of the ordinary just to call him. so to make a long story short, i go to my first appointment wiht my old obgyn's office and the dr did an exam took my information and then did the sonogram, we needed to confirm the heatbeat at this point since i was 7 1/2 weeks pregnant. she was poking around in there a few minutes and did not say anything so i figured there wasn't a heartbeat then i saw her biting her lip so i asked her what was going on and she told me my pregnancy wasn't normal that it was an ectopic pregnancy and that i had to go straight to the emergncy room for further testing and to possibly abort. I was STUNNED and told her it couldn't be since my re did not pick that up at 5 1/2 weeks sono. she told me she was 80% sure it was. so i cried all the way to the hospital and then they did another sonogram, there were 7 docotrs/residents/ radiologists in the room and they were all conferencing and determined that they were 90% sure it was a normal pregnancy but to make 100% sure they needed me to consent to do a MRI- my dh def wanted me to do it, i was a little iffy about the MRi but b/c my best friend, who also did IVF was 1 hour away from death becasue of an undetected ectopic pregnancy he absolutely wanted me to do ti to be 100% sure. I did go through with it and the results were called to me the next morning that it was in fact 100% a normal pregnancy. What a CRAZY week last week was! this week we went to the other OBGYN to see which one we liked better and we will be seeing her. She took a lot of time with us and went through everything so thorougly- she also said she didn't see what the other obgyn saw she said everything measured perfectly and it was positioned great in the uterus. DH and i liked her better. we got to see the little bean's heart beating so fast. it measured 177bpm. it was a very special sight. my next appointemt is on the 17th of February for the 3 month sonogram to make sure everything is ok.....
Sunshine- when you do a frozen transfer there is a lot of ways to do it. When we tried in May to do a FET transfer we used aygestin, then we started the lupron, then the estrace tablet and the progesterone supp 3 days before transfer and continued the meds but that cycle did not take BFN. In Novemeber i started just with just the estrace- no aygestin or lupron- then the progesterone 3 days before and that ended up in BFP. so talk to your RE and see what best suits you and what you are most comfortable with. If you are more comfortable then you have a better chance of it working. you have 5 frozen embryos that is wonderful! i had 6 embryos and have 2 left.. Good Luck with it all and keep us posted. i will be checking in :)
Sara- good luck with your next cycle!!!! I will be rooting for you girl!

It is really nice to hear from you, OMG what a week, I am so sorry you have had to go through that, it is hard enough the stuff we have to go through without all the extra worry you have been put through.

Please don't forget us I would really like to know how you get on, please post us now and again to let us know and of course we want to be able to congratulate you when you have your new baby boy or girl.

Much Love

Just wanted to keep you updated here is my status so far, hope you guys are all doing well....

just got a call from my dr about my test resluts and she told me that my test came back positive on the bloodwork. My blood work came back 1/24 chances of having downs syndrome and that the normal range fro my age is 1/266. She did say that the sonogram came back within the normal range which is anything under 3 and mine came in at 2.2. so she told me the next step is to either do a CVS test which has to be done within the next couple of days or wait another month and do the amnio. with the CVS test there is more of a higher false positive and a higher rate of miscarriage 1/100 vs the amnio which is 1/350. i really need to know if anyone has any insight in the results of the CVS or had any experience with it and for any advice. My heart is broken right now after everything we have gone through to get pregnant. i am really numb

Hi Hope

I was so sorry to read your post, have you had any further news?? Did you decide to go with the CVS test? I am sorry I don't know anythng about them.

My friend had a blood test that strongly pointed to her son having downs and he was born without downs, so sometimes these tests give of false readings, 1/24 means that 23 babies born out of the 24 will not have downs and thats a big number..........

I hope and pray for you that you your next tests show that your baby is just fine. xxxxxxxxx

I am waiting for my FET so far on schedule for 10/11/ March for the transfer so will keep you posted.

Thinking of you hun
