praying - So sorry about the OHSS, that just plain sucks. Hope they can at least retrieve your eggs. I have heard of several ladies that had to do the same thing, they retrieve the eggs, freeze and then do a FET later. I know it just waiting longer but your body will be in a lot better shape to take those embies in and let them snuggle in tight.

DNT - Thanks for the St. Jude prayer. My aunt told me about some pink nuns that pray for people to conceive. So my aunt gave them my name and they said a prayer for me for a week, I think it was. That was a while back, still hoping that it will help out. Congrats again on your BFP.

CA - I hate widom teeth. Mine hurt me one day and the next week i was at the dentist to get them pulled. I didn't get knocked out either and it was really weird to feel them pulling and yanking. The the Dentist would ask me questions, like I was able to answer with my mouth wide open and his hand and tools stuck in there yanking thing out.

Molly23 - Good luck on your ER. For me it was a breeze. I was knocked out then woke back up, they told me how many eggs they got and I got to sit around for a little longer and then left. No big deal. Had some cramping but took Tylenol for that.

HOPEFULN09 - I was on Lupron for over 6 weeks back in Oct/Nov, the only side effect I had was headaches. Sometimes I would get really bloated. I always did my shots in my tummy. I got a lot of fat so they don't hurt. I haven't tried any shots in my leg yet.

Lady-J - YEAH you get to start Lupron. Needles here you come.

ITS THE DAY OF OUR LIVES --

My life seems like a soap opera.
So just got a call from the nurse. Seems my FSH level is 6 and get this my E@ level is_________ 32 - I have never had an E2 level that low. So we would all like to jump up and say HOOORAYYY but can't. During the u/s the tech saw something in my uterine lining so now they want to do one of those hypsinoplasy (sp) or whatever it is called with the blue dye stuff. i had one done a few years ago and it is no big deal. Problem is that right now AF has a really good flow going so don't know if we can to it tomorrow and get the ball rolling. Now I am waiting for the RE's office to call back to find out forsure.

I think it is time to have my crazy face back on for my signature.

OK! I did not have to go back to the Dr today, they had me do the same dose as I have been taking last night. Tonight I take the same dose but I also start taking the Ganierelx at 10:15pm. I go back to the Dr. Friday morning. So hopefully all my numbers are growing. Take Care everyone!!

hopeful~n~09 - the only side effect i had from lupron was backache and hot flashes. i injected in my belly - some places you will find you don't feel the needle at all.
the PIO shots i don't have to take those. i don't do well with needles so my dr gave me vaginal suppositories. i hear it is messy but i think i'd rather do that than the shots!

looks like my ER will be sun or mon. i go back sat............so we'll see. my ovaries feel huge! and the follies looked huge on the moniter. it's hard not to get excited. the nurse was laughing at me today bc i was so excited about them growing. she said no one gets that excited over that. i'm just thankful all is well up to this point.

Hello girls =] I don't think i updated you guys on how my u/s went... Well lining was at 6 and I only had 3 follies on my left side none on my right. Out of the 3 the largest was measuring 1.6 .... I am on 600 IU of Gonal-F (300 IU x2). I have a feeling I won't have many eggs once again. Tomorrow= 7 days of stimming (8 if you actually count the first day last friday). I will keep you guys updated.

Well, my RE actually called me. He thinks I have a polyp and want to remove it before I cycle. So if everything goes good, we will do that tomorrow and i should be able to start stims. YEAH!!!

dys24 - I've been reading your posts and my heart goes out to you. I have just read two really great books and have decided to also try naturally for few months before my thired IVF.

The two books are I Got Pregnant, You Can Too!: Secrets of Healing Infertility by Boland and Love, Medicine and Miracles: Lessons Learned about Self-Healing from a Surgeon's Experience with Exceptional Patients by Bernie S. Siegel.

The Boland book is an ok read. Long story short, she willed herself to get pregnant naturally. She had nasty things to deal with as well such as lupus and a unsupportive husband.

The Siegel book on the other hand is riveting. It mostly talks about cancer patients and how the mind can clear up anything including cancer. I am not religious but I do believe in the power of the universe.

If any of you do believe in mind over matter, definitely get the Siegal book. If people can cure themselves of cancer, why not get pregnant which seems like a small feat compared to cancer.

So I have to tell you ladies how I've shot myself in the foot concerning HPT's

For some reason I got in my head last night that I wanted to do one this am to see if the HCG is gone yet and then maybe I'd only take one or two next week before my BETA so I could prepare myself. Ha, ha, ha...joke's on me!

I peed on the stick thinking that if it showed a negative, that was good, the HCG was gone and then I'd take one or two later, closer to my BETA since it's only been a week. My mind was also telling me that if it was positive, then it's still in there, and I was going to be more diligent about drinking my water.

Well, when I got out of the shower, it was the faintest of the faintest, squint to see the damn thing positive. So to my neurotic brain I've now backed myself in a corner to take more HPT's because I don't know if it's showing because of a little HCG left over from the trigger, or if the HCG's gone and miracle of all miracles there's a chance my embie(s) like me and want to stay around!

Good grief...I was just fine during the 2WW until today...what's up with that? I have to laugh at myself!

Thank you too for asking about me. You too are a real sweetheart. I don't know what I'd do without you ladies. I just referred a friend to this board. She is 40+ and doing her first IVF. Yea, you get to start lupron...I know your shots are calling your name.


Anyway, I'll share what I know about me so far. They retrieved 28 eggs on Wednesday. When they called me this morning they said that we have 20 fertilized. They will call me tomorrow morning to let me know how many are actually starting to divide properly.


I am feeling really bloated and have a lot of pressure in my abdomen and RE says it will get worse before it gets better. But he said they'll keep an eye on me to make sure OHSS stays away.


They are thinking of a 5dt which will be Monday. I will know for sure tomorrow morning. I'll let you ladies know what they tell me.

My RE was worried about me today having it but I'm not bloated I can tell my ovaries are big and sometimes painful but other than that I'm feeling fine.

My breasts have gotten really sore & swollen the past 2 days. Has anyone else had that symptom during stimming?

Well I am triggering tonight for a saturday retrieval. I still have to go in for blood work to monitor the OHSS but no sono for me tomorrow. Bedrest stinks but what can I do? And I found out I hate Gatorade but G2 isnt too bad.

JennLB25 - HOLY EGGS LADY!!!! Congrats on such a successful ER! I had 25 follies and only got 8 mature eggs Sounds like a BFP coming your way! Make sure you're drinking your fluids and take care of yourself.

tburks - I know how you feel! I swore wehn I walked I could feel my ovaries sway and bounce because they felt so swolen. And yes, my boobs were very sore. I'm large chested as it is and taking the bra off at night was torture! And sorry to say, it hasn't gone away with being on the PIO shots Hang in there, you're almost to ER yourself right?!

Lady J - Don't worry, you didn't freak me out too bad It my own mind talking to myself into a tizzy! I feel much better today, full of PMA! How are you feeling?

prayin4BFP - I'm so sorry about the OHSS, that sucks! The good news is that your RE sounds positive that you'll still trigger and go through ER. Then with ICSI and PGD, maybe your body will calm down enough to get through ET. If not, here's hoping and praying you get some good snowflakes! Keep your fluids up and let us know!

Regarding the Novena to St. Jude. I said the prayer 9 times for 9 days then your prayer shhould be answered once it is you are to publish the prayer in a local paper & at the end you thank the St. for prayers answered and put either your name & DH or intials. I hope that helps

I just did my BETA again so I find out later today if my BETA doubled. The Nurse looked at me & said how are you doing I said I'm still in shock she said yeah we do have a couple of surprises

I'm affraid I may be getting OHSS. I feel like I'm carrying a small watermelon in my abdomen. I have a great deal of pressure. We'll see I guess. I told RE yesterday about it and he said that it was normal and it would probably get worse before it gets better.

About the breast tenderness , OH YES. Mine hurt really bad for a while. They are just now starting to be normal again. Just one more fun thing to deal with while trying IVF.

I'm not sure if that is an unusually large amount of eggs, but the nurses seemed to act like it was. I'm drinking and drinking and drinking. I had over 64oz of Powerade Zero yesterday. I'm a little nervous about OHSS.
