I have a question for moms, who chosen from the very beginning not to breastfeed. I have decided that in my personal situation I woun't be able to do that with my twins.
So, how did you stop milk from coming in the very beginning?
Thanks in advance.

My girlfriend who just had her twins 2 weeks ago today said she just wrapped her chest tightly and wore a sports bra. She also avoided the hot water running on them in the shower and it only took a few days. She did say it was uncomfortable though.
Kudos to you for standing firm with what you want to do. I did bf my twins for 15 months but a lot of people were very discouraging in the beginning. We all know what is best for us. Good luck. Twins are amazing!!!

I know all +'s about breastfeeding, and I wish I was able to do it this time, but my life is very different now for what it was 14 years ago with my first son,I just have a realistic view on my currant situation and want to know and be ready in advance how to deal with some of the problems .

marina- I knew from the start that breastfeeding was not for me. I wrapped my bb's tight the first week. I would wear a sports bra and then put a camisole with built in bra support over that and then flip up the cami so it was like a third layer. I avoided hot water on them in the shower. I was also told to put some bags of frozen veggies on them, but I never did. My swelling went down within the first week. good luck.

Did the milk come at all or never did? I know they don't use a pill in a hospitals now to dry up your milk , because of the cancer risk-is this true?

that is true, they do not use pills or shots for drying anymore, my milk was there, little drips or spots every now and then.

In case you didn't know about it, I would note that breast feeding technology is much better than it was 14 years ago as well. Breast pumps are quite good now, and I think breast feeding and pumping is quite a bit less work than working with formula - especially considering that breast milk bottles generally only need to be washed, while formula bottles really should be sterilized.
If you already knew about all that and had already taken it into account, though, good for you!

Hi Marina,
If your babies come at all early or are in NICU there will be a lot of pressure on you from doctors/nurses to breast feed/pump for at least a month or two. Apparently it is one of the best things you can do for premature babies.
Thank you guys and believe me,I know everything about + and - of breastfeeding ,I even have a Medela pump(from my girlfriend)-just in case if something changes, but it could be just not an option for me,that is why I need to know all possible options now. Thanks for the tips.

Hi Marina
I also chose not to breastfeed and found that I wasn't put under any pressure because I knew that was what I wanted. I think if you seem unsure then you get pressured.
I didn't wrap my chest, just wore a supportive bra night and day for the first couple of weeks. I had a little spotting of milk occasionally, mostly when burping Ollie on my shoulder, but nothing much. My bb's were hard and sore for just a couple of days. Just try not to touch them.
Good luck
