I am from Atlanta! How about you? Still waiting to hear from my RE. I guess I will head to work and keep my fingers crossed. I really want to have a 5 day transfer, since I have read that it has better success rates.

I was just wondering, and you don't have to answer, but did the doctor say why you may have miscarried last time. Also are miscarriages more common with IVF? I am sorry if I am prying.

I hope everything works out for you today.

Well they just called and I am having it at 3:30 today, and I am so nervous. Are there any chance of success with a 3 day transfer?

Just wanted to pop in Molly and offer some support.

Day 3 transfers have great success rates, there is no reason to panic. This is a time to be joyful, trust life, this is the day you become preganant after all! :D

Please try to calm yourself down, high stress levels have a poor correlation with success, sorry! Pray, medicate, cry, sleep, eat, go see a movie whatever will work for you.

When you go in ask about the grading of the embrios put in, go for 3 if they will let you. I wish you the very best of luck and I am saying a silent prayer for you.

I am from Houston. :) The dr said I most likely m/c bc of a chromosomal abnormality with the baby (like Downsyndrome or something) but doesnt expect it to be repetitive. We did a 3dt last time and it obviously worked so dont worry about having one too. A 5dt is always best because of seeing more growth in the embryos and being able to pick better grades but a 3dt is just as good. I called the dr and they havent received the report back yet so I will update when I get that call. I am actually hoping to transfer today just so I know it will happen since none of mine made it to 5 days last time.

Hi guys,
Sorry I've been so MIA lately.

First, I don't believe that m/c are any more common with IVF than with natural methods. Apparently 20-25% of women have a miscarriage at some point. I never knew it was that high until I had one and people started talking about it. I have a 3dt as well which also worked. We did a D&C and it turns out my m/c was due to an extra chromosome.

I'm now waiting it out until we can do our frozen embryo transfer. Unfortunately we have to wait longer than initially expected. My period came both too late and too early. Basically it came 5 weeks after D&C which is later than for most people but they won't begin the next cycle until 6-8 weeks post D&C. So, now I have to wait another month. Ugh!

So, that's where I'm at. Did a water sonogram this cycle to get ready and now I'm just waiting again.

Hope all is well with all of you.

Molly- I had 2 embryos transferred on day 3 and I have my beautiful little Ella to show for it, so yes, 3 day transfers do work!

As far as m/c rates, ivf m/c rates are no higher than regular conception miscarriage rates. Many women who conceive naturally miscarry before they even know they are pregnant. Of course with ivf, you are aware you are pregnant from day 1, so if you miscarry, of course you know it, so it just seems like miscarry is higher with ivf, but it's not.

Good luck Molly and keep up that pma!

Okay, I am now getting excited and got my PMA going on. I called the nurse back, and she was not able to tell me the grades. She said they will give me all that information when I get there. They changed my appointment to 2:15, so only a couple more hours. I am nervous but excited.

What are good cell grades, so I know what to look for? Should I ask if the embie has split, or any other questions that might be useful?

waiting for 4- Do you know what time your transfer is?

the best grade is a 4 but 3 is the most common on day 3. as about the # of cells (should be 6-8) and the level of fragmentation (the less the better). We transfer at 12:30 :) so exciting! I think we may go with 3 this time, I am just so worried about having triplets!?

Molly and Waiting.... I wanted to wish you good luck today. I pray and hope thatg everything goes well amd that you ladies get your well deserved BFPs.

As for the grades, they should be able to tell you when you get there. On my day 3 transfer. I had 1 embie at Grade A 8 cell and the other was grade B 5 cell or something like that. When you go, ask your RE to give you a pic of your embies that are being tranferred. It is a wonderful pic to have in your IVF Calendar and keepsakes.

Good Luck ladies.

Waiting for 4 and Molly23 - Congrats on having your ETs today!! I'm so excited for both of you. Your BFPs are right around the corner now. Get home and rest after your ET and stay positive! Can you believe this cycle is almost over?

I feel like I missed so much over the weekend. We just moved and don't have our internet hooked up yet at home.

I'll do more personals later. Sorry this is so short! I had an ultrasound today....there's 2 of them in there!! We're so excited! I've wanted twins my whole life....probably because I'm a twin! We go back next Monday to see the heartbeats. I'm scared to death of losing these babies. I've never wanted anything so badly! Ever little cramp, pain, gush, etc has me scared. I'm trying to stay positive and I keep telling myself nothing will happen to them.

Just wanted to check in. Hope you all have a great day!

Thanks for the positive vibes. I just started drinking lots of water, and I have the worlds smallest bladder. I don't know how I am going to make it to the doctor's office with 40 oz of water in me.

TKAT- Twins are so exciting, and I am so happy for you. Did you have a 3 or 5 day transfer? Lots of sticky baby dust to you. :D

tkat- I knew it was 2 in there! Congrats, that is so awesome. We will pray for hb's on monday. I am secretly hoping for twins this time, even though it will be a lot to handle with another little one already at home, I just feel like 3 is the perfect size family for me, but I will still be happy with just one. Oh, I am so excited for you, congrats again!
