DIAPERS!!!!

Post by riogirl71 »

What brand are you using?
Where do you buy them?

I know it is a personal preference, we tried huggies but still like pampers better, so far only found a decent deal on Target for those, we are at size 2-3.

Anyone tried Costco brand?

Thanks!!!!

I buy huggies at sams club, big box. They also have pampers an sams club brand. I have not tried the stor brand, they looked cheaply made and weren' that much cheaper. I pay $39 for 264 count of size 1/2. I think the next size up, size 3/4 is the same price but you only get like 200 count. Buying in this quantity was much cheaper than getting sale price anywhere else.

I use pampers. I need to get a membership to Sams or Costco for diapers and bulk stuff. I started to use some Publix but I am not going to suggest those because the tabs that hold the diaper on do not stick very well. I have found Brooke with one side of her diaper undone twice now and luckily she has not peed out of it but still...I can not imagine finding her with poop all over because a tab came undone! sheesh!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Kirkland brand at Costco! We are a size 3 and I have used them since we left the newborn sizes in Pampers. I have NEVER had a blow out and it's the something like 217 diapers for $37. I also use the wipes and like those as well.

Hi - I have twins B/G and I use WalMart's Parent's Choice and White Cloud - I like them BOTH for girl and boy wetting issues as well as coverage and tab closing. I belong to BJs and have bought their brand but they are not as good as the other two above. I LOVE huggies but they are WAY too expensive with twins.

I really think it all boils down to personal preference though.

The hospital used pampers and we liked them so we kept using them; I buy them at the grocery store. We're at size 2-3 now. All that said, we will try the huggies natural fit when our daughter is big enough for size 3; the grocery store doesn't stock the natural fits any smaller.

Hi all!

we're using "Zippidys" cloth diapers and they are great! there are snaps that change as he grows and I got them on Ebay for about 2 bucks a piece- usually cloth diapers can be pretty expensive - but getting them from someone who decided not to use them was a real bargain!
they need a cover, and so it takes a bit more time, but I have already saved a ton of $$$. They are for 5-16lbs, but I think they'll go to about 18lbs for my lanky bean
I have to change him more often as he feels wet (but this could help with potty training in future) and for that reason, we still have disposables for nighttime - just don't want him waking up for a change - so I have tried some store brands- from Wholefoods, Target, and Mom to Mom at Safeway - all seem to be pretty good- I just wish they didn't print stuff on the diapers-

I really feel for the twin mommies out there- it's a lot of $$$ for diapers regardless of where you buy them

I am with loopie - cloth is the way to go! My kids never get diaper rash and they are not nearly as time consuming as you would think and loads better for the environment. But my biggest concern with disposables is that they are not regulated. Can any tell me what is actually in those things?

I personally would love to do cloth, but I won't be a stay at home mom and I can barely keep up with the laundry we have now. Plus my husband cringes at the sight of poop, so he'll be no help at all if we went with cloth. Diaper services are actually more expensive than disposables. So this will lead me to using disposables, which I will likely buy from Costco.

I do think I'll consider switching to cloth when it's time to potty train.

I just signed up at babies r us and if you like pampers you get one value pack free after purchasing 9, don't know if it helps! I find pampers expensive but so much softer than huggies. My bean gets his weewee red with huggies but not pampers...

Kerpup- yeah, my dh really doesn't like any bodily functions- blood, poo etc- but you'll be surprised what they can handle after they see what you'll go through to be a mom and dad and bring this little one into the world-
once that happens, the poo aint so bad!  - Dh had never changed a baby before we took care of ours ( neither had I really), and the little green/ yellow milk poos aren't as scary once it's your baby you're caring for.

For the 1st 6 weeks, Pulman did disposables as he was so small, and the cloth didn't fit ( and I was just plum tired) but cloth is not as hard as you think - they're not stinky and they wash up really well in cold water and "Charlie's Soap" it's great stuff and one little bag of powder does 80 loads of laundry!

well- just my 2cents- do what works for you - that seems to be the best way to raise any child

After exhausting all of the Huggies and Pampers I got from my baby shower (I sure got a lot of the newborn and 1-2s), we tried the Costco diapers and Parents choice from Wal-mart. They both work well. I usually get the Parents choice because I live right across the street from Wal-mart.

****Main thing: My son didn't get a rash from any of the diapers that we've tried.

I did the same thing with Babies R Us (wish I'd known about their program sooner). Plus, they offer coupons and other deals pretty frequently. Be sure to sign up for their email list and also at Pampers.com. A couple of weeks ago, they sent me an email for a one-day special -- buy two value boxes, get a $15 gift card. So, with the 10th box free and the other Babies R Us specials, I find that the Pampers aren't too much more than the other brands.

Also, you can get $10 off and free express shipping with your first order at www.diapers.com if you spend $49 (search Google for the latest promo codes like "swaddleme" and "newaccount"). They carry both Pampers and Huggies.
