Hello,
we are new to this forum but would welcome any comments, experiences or reccomendations from people on IVF centres in the North East. We are particularly interested in The Cromwell Centre at Darlington,James Cook Hospital and the Centre for Life at Newcastle.
Due to our age and waiting lists we are having to go private. If any one has anything to contribute we would welcome it.
Thanks,
S & S.
i just noticed your message and thought you might be better to post on the general forum page or pregnant after tmt page. i think they get more viewings and responses. sorry i can't help as i'm south.
hello s & s
im having treatment at the centre for life in newcastle,i have nothing bad to say about them, all the staff are really lovely and have made me feel at ease, best of luck.,loopy.
I can also recommend Mr Aird the consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead. I am having private ICSI treatment there.
The IVF unit is listed No.7 in the top 10 in the UK and the success percentage for the period 2000/01 for IVF at the QE was 36.3% against national figures (provided by HFEA) of 21.8%. It is even higher now, but I am afraid I don't have these figures, but if you call them (Tel 0191 445 2768) I am sure they will send you the information.
Mr Aird and his whole team are caring, friendly and sympathetic, and will always have time for you, no matter how long you want to sit and discuss everything!
Good Luck
So, I reakon add these to your list,
1 failed ICSI, 1 failed FET, next treatment starts in May with EC on 1 June 2004, hoping for a 2005 baby!
I too am having tmt at QE in Gateshead and also find the team marvellous. Ive got there figures for 2002-3 and sure they were 38%!!
Im on two week wait at the moment so hope I can manage to keep the rates up!!
Yes its my first attempt and i test next week, im soooo nervous! But trying to be positive and realistic at the same time!! She says ha! Weve got 8/9 in the freezer if first time doesnt work and will be able to start a month later.
I am nervous for you too, the 2WW is the worst part about it all really.
8/9 frozen, that's really good! I had 5 frozen, and 3 came out perfect, but still no go for for me (boo).
I live on Rosewood Park in Gateshead (beside Team Valley) and my Doc's is the Bensham Practice on Bensham Road, and my clinic (I am not sure what you mean here) is the IVF unit at the QE.
I am 39, 40 this year - so my body clock is on overdrive!!!!
Please let us know your result next week xxx

Thanks for your reply , i live in Co Durham so its a bit of travel up to QE but worth it, the staff are great and its such a small unit and so personal.
