I am in the exact same position as you. I just had 2 embryos transferred this past Saturday and going in on Feb 13th for the blood test....sux waiting. My embryos were also on a 3 day transfer both at a B/B+ grading. I'm wondering if it may be too early to take a HPT at this point, but I did it anyways just to see what happens..it was negative but I'm consistently reading about false positives when taking HPTs so early into the transfer, so I'm not stressing out about the negative result. How old are you? I just turned 30 and was told by my doc that I have a very high success rate for IVF-let's hope they're right!

Don’t let her negative vibes get you down. It’s a shame because you’d think she’d be more sensitive being in the same boat. I mean, really, it’s not as if there’s limited “baby dust” to go around and if you get it, she won’t. Here’s to plenty of it for all of us!
Carmen
Welcome. Carmen. You’re wise for taking it seriously early on. I wish I hadn’t dragged my feet so much. We have the same beta date. I’ll be wishing you luck and eager to hear your BFP, too.

Welcome. Hopefully, some of your great chances rub off on us.
I think you are too early for a HPT:
“If a woman is pregnant, the amount of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in her system should be around 25 mIU at 10 dpo (days past ovulation), 50 mIU at 12 dpo, 100 mIU at around two weeks dpo.”
The early detection ones start at about 25.
Almost there!

I think that was mean of your friend from work to say. In my opinion and experience anyone going through this is so happy when a friend gets pregnant who has gone through it. Has she been doing it longer than you? Maybe that is why she said it. Either way it was not appropriate.

Welcome! I am also 30. I actually turned 30 the day before my egg retrieval. My doctor keeps saying I have a good chance because I am young. After 3 IUI's and this IVF I am tired of hearing that. We also have some male factor problems. How did you respond on the stims? I was on the lower side of follicles. I only produced 5 mature follicles. I guess they retrieved 8 eggs but only 5 were good and 4 fertilized. Of those 4 two were like yours 8 cell B+. The other two did not make it to freeze. I am worried that has to do with my husbands problem....sperm DNA fragmentation.
Carmen
Things sound like they went very well for you!!

How are you doing? Do you feel anything different or feel anything? I started to feel crampy yesterday and some more today. Just like how I feel the week before my period. I know some people say they feel just like they are going to get their period and then they find out they are pregnant but every month for the past 15 months I get the same symtoms to a tea. I am starting to loose some hope. I had an emotional break down today. I know I have to stay positive but holding all the tears in and trying to ignore them only makes it worse. I had a good cry and fell a little better.
I am so glad to finally have buddies!!!! It is especially comforting that we are all in the same boat!
siouxsie: thanks for the kind remarks! I'm wishing you nothing but POSITIVES!!!! Was yours a three or five day?
I am sooooo anxious! I keep pulling out the hpt but my husband says "no...put it back..." He says we have to wait for the results from the dr and I do too but in a way I feel that I can soften a blow...should there be one.
Anyone have insurance cover their IVF?????? Anyone in Atlanta?
ERT, my co-worker has been trying longer but she just started using the same RE as me around the same time as me. She has done 3 iui and is having her exploratory surgery next week. I would be happy for her if she got prego before me but what ever. As long as I am happy for other people then it is up to them to deal with there own emotions.
I am also feeling a little crampy, like I am going to get AF but I am holding out for hope, PMA, PMA. I am going to go for my estrogen levels tomorrow(don't know why RE wants to check it) but it is tomorrow morning.
ERT You have to keep the faith, afterall that's all we really have! I responded very well to the stims, almost too well. I did have an elevated estrogen level and signs of OHSS, but I produced about 20 follicles in my left ovary and about 12 from my right. Out of those, they pulled 17 mature follicles and 8 of them fertilized normally. We didn't opt to freeze any extras because of the money factor..my husband and I figured if it didn't work this round, we would just go at it again since our insurance covers 100% of the IVF procedure or we would just try to conceive naturally but there's a big risk in that....we had been trying to get prego for about two years, when that wasn't successful, we sought fertility treatment and immediately treated for PCOS. We did get pregnant within a month of this treatment but it was an ectopic preg which resulted in the removal of my right tube and my left tube was actually dilated, so that's why we opt'd to do the IVF. I just barfed up my whole med history on you, sorry! LOL So here we are...so here we all are, ladies!!! It's one thing to talk about this stuff with my husband, but it's a whole hell of a lot better to talk to other women like yourself that physically have to endure the same painful and emotionally draining procedures. I'll keep you in my prayers...you mentioned the quality of your husband's sperm but getting a B grading on the embryos should be a really good sign!! We will get through this together!![/b]
BarbD-Im right there with you. I've been going in for blood work about every other day since the transfer bc of my estrogen levels. It's good that you have doctors that pay that much attention to detail to you to make sure everything looks good!!!!! I know that gives me a lot of comfort.
Carmen-Im curious- I know you're going in for your first beta check on the 9th but have you taken an HPT yet and if you have, what were the results?
ntrlmystc79: I have not done a hpt, even though I have pulled it out several times! My husband wants to wait till we see the dr. UGH
I have NO symptoms...I have had a few different feelings, such as pulling and shooting pains and a few short feelings of AF coming...but all these were breif! It would be nice to feel something!!!! But looking at some of these messages it's not always a bad thing not to feel anything.
Hello everyone. I am also in my TWW. My ET was on Monday and BETA is Feb. 16th. RE says he's pretty confident that this will work, but I'm just afraid to believe it. After so many letdowns over the 11 years of TTC, I just don't want my heart to be broken if it's a BFN. RE feels, however, that since I responded so well, that I have a great chance. His clinic has a 59% successful live birth rate.
I had 28 eggs retrieved and 20 were mature. All 20 fertilized but we lost 6 in the process. We have 12 frozen and 2 were transferred. They didn't say anything about grade, all they said were that they were great quality. They didn't give me any numbers though.
Well I pray we all get our BFP!!!
Best of luck to everyone!!

Carmen ...yep a lot of pain for about a week. Very bloated too. I was very uncomfortable. I'm actually still a little bloated. My ovaries hurt still. RE says it's because they got so big, they need time to get back to normal size.

Jenn : You are a trooper!!!! I remember being sore the day of ET and thinking...how are they going transfer these little angels without me coming up off the table! WOW Did you get any pain relief? After the ER I was given some pain meds in my IV and then given a small rx of pain meds. I didn't use hardly any of the pain meds because I really don't like using too many meds. AND on top of all of that I went to Panama to have the procedure and right after the ER had a family reunion! Torture! Though I think 28 eggs would be more pain than 11 ER and a family reunion!!! God bless you!!!!!!
Any symptoms?
siouxsie: any symptoms???? i'm trying to make it through the weekend!!! are you tempted to reach for the HPT???
Carmen...I'm not so sure about that...I think the ER then family reunion would be more torture.
No syptoms of pg. I just started my estrogen patches this morning and with the progresterone(sp?) shots on top of that, I just feel emotional . Ready to cry at the drop of a hat.
My mom said she was throwing up when she was 2 weeks pg. She's assuming I will have the same problem. But, I reminded her that she also told my dad "I'm ready to try for a baby" and literally 2 weeks later she was sick. Must be nice to get pg the same month you decide to try. So, I'm not sure that I'll have the same symptoms my mom did. She tried to get pg for one month and it's been 11 years for me so far TTC.
So, if you're in the TWW, when is your BETA?

Are you using the intramuscular progesterone injections??? I am, and at first I was like there is no way that is the right size needle! But the dr assured me it was the right one! LOL I have read, alot of you guys are using estrogen patches but I am just taking a pill: estradiol.
Please forgive me if I have asked you already, and if it is listed ...is this your first IVF?
As far as the moms and friends that could get pregnant with the drop of a hat...I envy them! I want to say so bad that it sucks but I can't say that for everyone! On the flip side (girls that should not be procreating) I have a niece that has been pregnant twice! My sister-in-law is raising the children. I said PLEASE next baby that comes about can we adopt it????!!! So if all else fails maybe we can adopt within the family. I guess sometimes we have to find the good in the bad!
Hi All,
I was on this board back in Oct and earlier when I was going through my 1st and 2nd IVF cycles. I had heard it was better to take a break and with the lab being closed for the holidays #3 got pushed to Jan '09. I'm in the 2ww after a 5dt of 2 blasts. I was feeling hopeful b/c this is the 1st time we have had Grade A blasts and the Doc seemed to be very positive about the whole thing, however, I am quickly losing hope:(
I think at least one other person on this board mentioned the same beta date as me (2/9-Mon), but I feel like at this point it is only a formality given my lack of preg symptoms and typical AF ones coming). I will list them below and hoping you all will share to see if there's any in common?
- 2dp5dt AF like very slight cramping(barely noticeable)
- 5dp5dt - Very slight nausea for about and hr in the afternoon and whitish/yellow CM(sorry for TMI).
I would normally get my period today or tomorrow(being 28/29th day of cycle), but the Progesterone shots kept my period away IVF#2, so can't use that as a symptom).
However, what made me lose all hope was that this morning I woke up having EVERY SINGLE AF symptom that I get every month(I'm super regular, except w/ these POI). I got the cramps that normally wake me up(however not at all as bad as normal), the heaviness bloated feeling in stomach and below and the lower backache. Also as always, I can hear the water retention in my belly(sounds funny:), but I hear it just as any other month. So, sorry to be a downer, but I'm thinking this cycle is also a bust but can't bare to hear another BFN on Mon and the AF will come once I stop the shots:( We're on the Shared Risk so have 4 more tries, but after 3 BFN's what is the chance of it ever working?!
Sorry for the long post...any advice would be great and goodluck to all of you!
