Carmen...Yippee, your BETA Monday!! Your TWW is almost over!!! I'll pray for ya!!

Yep, I'm on the intramuscular progesterone injections. Fun, Fun.  The first night my DH had to give me that shot I just sat there and cried. But he did really well, I barely felt it (compared to what I thought it sould feel like  ).

This is my first and only IVF. My DH's new insurance covers $20,000 for IVF, but that included all testing and corrective surgery, so the money is now gone. We can't afford to do IVF on our own, hence the 11 year wait.
On the flip side (girls that should not be procreating) I have a niece that has been pregnant twice! My sister-in-law is raising the children.
I so understand. Me and DH did try foster-to-adopt. We had a 3 year old little boy for about 9 months. He was the 3rd child to be taken from his mom. He had 2 sisters taken away from her before he was born. And after she lost Chad, she got pg again!!! That baby (the 4th) was also taken from her. I just don't get it! :x

But I know that me and DH were a blessing to that little guy while we had him. It just broke our hearts that the day before our hearing to adopt (mom still had her rights until court hearing), the mom voluntarily signed her rights over to a brother of hers in TX. Poor little guy didn't even know this uncle and had no other family in TX. His biological family goes to our church and would have been raised with his biological family as well as his adoptive family, BUT IT JUST DIDN'T WORK THAT WAY. The court said "blood family is first".

I hope you don't have to adopt, but I hope you get to. But, I hope you get your BFP first!!!!

God Bless, have a great day.

Bubbles...I agree with Carmen. No more negativity. Try not to stress. The babies don't need that. I know it's easier said than done, but try to relax. Hold out hope and wait to see what RE says. Hugs to ya either way.

I also had a 5dt and had 2 blasts transferred.

Thank you for the positive thoughts...I was ok until these darn AF symptoms this morning, but will try to stay optimistic until we know for sure. Also, would you mind sharing any symptoms you've had so far? Goodluck to both of you as well!

Jenn: I was SO nervous with the first shot I recieved from my husband and it was only sub-q! I was so worked up that he got more nervous than I was LOL! But with the BIG HUGE progesterone shot I worried myself to death! And like I said, I was in Panama and my uncle (who we were staying with at the beach, about an hour from the city) insisted I go to the clinic. So we went to the clinic where a young man scolded my husband and told him he was NOT to be giving me injections all the while giving me a shot in the lower quadrant! I couldn't walk for a week! He killed me! My husband does a very good job! Thank God because they will not administer the meds here in the states because it is foreign!

How much progesterone are you injecting? I am on 2mL every other day.

My insurance covers 0% infertility! And then you hear things like the lady in California having it done for free!!! No husband, no job, no money... What a shame! I have gotten to the point where I believe here in the US we are never rewarded for doing something the right way! God Bless Obama he has quite the job ahead of him! (sorry off on a tangent) We decided to go to Panama...99% of my family lives there and I have three cousins that have had treatment at this particular dr. The results with my cousins have been triplets, twins, and a single (from oldest to youngest.) And with the single my cousin had 1 egg! We call the baby "the lone ranger"! The equipment at the dr's office was WAY more up to date than my specialist here in ATL!

You are a saint for fostering! I would not be able to give the child up! I get too attached! I find myself often questioning the judgement of authoritative figures lately! Did you hear about the family in England? Grandparents took over the care of their two grandchildren as mom was addicted to heroin. The ages were 48 and 59 respectively (if I remember acurately)...young grandparents. They took the children from the grandparents because they were too old and have adopted the children to a same sex couple. I actually have the article, my husband emailed it to me!

Bubbles:
As far as symptoms...I am fairly spmtom free. I have an occasional pull, twinge, feeling of AF...but they are VERY brief feelings! I think it is from the progesterone injections.

Carmen...my progesterone shots are 1ml every day.

As for fostering, after losing Chad we surrendered our foster license. It just broke our hearts. We knew we could not do it again. Our caseworker tried to change our minds. She said we were one of her best foster homes, but we just could not deal with that heartache again. To know the kinds of homes those kids come from, and to let them go back into those environments, it's an absolute killer. We don't have the heart for it.

Well, signing off for the night. I have a lot of house cleaning to do tomorrow since I've done NOTHING this week. LOL It's so bad it may take me 3 days to get it completely clean.

So, I'll probably be back here on Monday (once I get to work) lol. Gee, what the pay me to do, lol.

See ya'll Monday. Have a great weekend.

Physically, I feel a bit pre-menstrual, but my boobs aren’t so sore anymore. Mostly I’m trying to block it out. I’ll second what you’ve heard from some others: having been pregnant twice (albeit unsuccessfully), I honestly couldn’t tell this early on so I don’t think it’s time to give up yet. It has occurred to me that being this focused on my fertility has increased by awareness of my body, but not always in a helpful way.

It’s good to stay positive, but it’s not always possible. Sometimes that teary breakdown is just what you need. It’s okay to feel whatever you’re feeling – even if it’s anger, sadness, feeling sorry for yourself etc.

Carmen
I think I didn’t answer your question a while back -- Mine were 3 days, all thawed. 2 6-cell, 2-8 cell and 1 fragmented.

Sadly, no insurance coverage for us – here in CA (where the whole state’s going bankrupt) it’s not mandated by law so I couldn’t find any coverage.

I really am going to resist the HPT.

Similar to your desire for your niece’s baby, I found my self wishing for just 1 of the octuplets. (guilty, guilty)

JennLB25
Welcome. 59% live birth rate is great. Is your clinic in Ohio or did you travel?

Bubbles13
Welcome. Don’t lose hope. As I said to Ert above, really it is way too early to tell pregnancy symptoms vs. pre-menstrual symptoms. The drugs do also blur the symptoms (i.e. I’m really bloated from the progesterone, I think) There are tons of comments throughout the board from people who’ve had both BFN and BHP and say they couldn’t tell the difference. If you get to Monday and are disappointed again, then stop and grief and treat yourself right. But, for now, allow yourself to hope or even to pretend.
With your age, the quality of the embryos you’re getting and the number of future tries, you have lined up (I would kill for 4 more tries), it sounds like you have great chances in the long run. If you’re not successful this time, maybe it’s time to evaluate your protocol and/or your doctor, but cross that bridge when you come to it. For now, give yourself a break and at least try to relax.

Everybody:
I’m also on the FET in Feb thread, and a list was helpful to keep track of where everybody was, so here’s my attempt. A few of us share the same dates – maybe that’ll be lucky. Our group’s grown quite a bit. Hope I got everybody correct – if not, let us know the latest.

Hello Ladies! I have been getting cramps on and off too like AF. I know you really can't go by symptoms because of all the meds and everything, but sometimes it is a little hard to accept. I find I get discouraged as soon as I feel the pain and then it goes away very fast and then I have hope again. 2WW is almost over. Anybody have headaches? I have had one for three days now.

Well they checked my progesterone levels and they changed my BETA for 2/13. I am actually having alot of cramps like AF is coming, my breast are still tender but I am loosing all hope here. I am having an emotional break down.

RosiePosie, I do get alot of headaches which seem to come after I take the estradiol

DH keeps telling me to be positive but like siouxsie said I am so aware of my body and its changes I can't seem to tell myself a positive thing at this moment. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day......DAMN hormones

Hey Ladies!

Welcome to all the new mommies to be out there! I am still here, waiting this crazy wait. I am feeling very normal and am scared to death. Except, I got a zit on my chin yesterday, which is usually what happens before AF. The verdict is still out how I feel about it, I mean, it could just be a zit, right?!

Well, my DH informed me today, 'technically, we can have sex again'. With it being the 11th day past retrieval, he is right, it is just not on my mind. I guess I am scared to 'knock' them loose, which I know is impossible, but I can't help but think it. Anyone else think these thoughts?

Come on Monday, so I can get this wait over with!! Bubblies...we are testing the same day...keep your chin up girl! Pregnancy signs are known to mimic AF symptoms!!!! Don't lose hope on us!!

Hey siouxsie...thanks for the recap on everyone. It helps tremendously to keep track! :D

This process is insane. So many emotions. I’m pretty tired of it myself. It is raining hard here so it’s a good excuse to get in bed early (and bring b-day one day closer!)

My dr. said no sex for 14 days. Actually, she said nothing in the vagina, including sex… I was left with the impression that it was more about not getting an infection post-catheter more than a risk to implantation. (?) It would be a nice stress reliever, but I’m willing to wait to be extra safe.

Barb, the good news is your beta moved up so you don’t have to wait so long.

Labstoo, I had zits even while pregnant. DH was very disappointed ‘cause he had heard pregnancy would improve the skin. Apparently, for some people it makes it worse.

Rosie, If you do get BFP you’ll be on progesterone for a while. If you’re like me, you’ll start ignoring the yuck and just go for it (and I’m on 3 a day).

Hi Everyone,

It sounds like many of us are going crazy and feeling AF symtoms. I hope it is all just from the meds and pregnancies in the process. It really is so nice to have so many others that feel the exact way I do.

Are you guys all just doing one type of progesterone? I am taking the shots and applicator. It really is not that messy I just get a little sore down there because the applicator is not the smoothest thing. I am also taking estorgen patches and baby asprin. We were also told no sex until pregnancy test. I don't know if it is all the meds going through my system but that is the last thing on my mind.

Hopefully we can all have a relaxing weekend and prepare for the big news next week for many of us.
