Hi ladies,

wow..i haven't posted in a while, but glad to see you've been active, and
april ladies have been combined into one group...i'm so glad all our pg's are going well...

thought i'd update you all as i've always been placed on bed rest...i was wondering when my crazy life working and commuting would end anyway..will do personals a little later, once i get back into the post a little more :D

so i actually got dizzy and fainted and fell after which that night i started having braxton hicks every 5 min...continued the next day and went into L&D - the Fetal fibronectin (a vaginal test) was normal - which means no labor for at least 2 wks (90% chance), and cervix was the same...after that i had my usual u/s at which my precious babies were doing well...3 lbs each!!

But, again had contractions while in bed on bed rest!! - got steroids, and terbutaline and mega fluids. I really think the contractions come when I don't drink enough, so now i'm drinking what i'm supposed to...64 ounces a day of clear fluids...

gotta keep these babes in my belly for as long as possible - i've been told over and over again by everyone...i watch so much tv and movies...total junkie!

anyway, twin and trips mom have ultrasounds every 3 wks, and our cervices are constantly being measured for shortening...and preterm labor is more common...so i thought i'd share :?

anyway...on a happier note, i love the gift packages coming to us...since i didn't have a shower...i'm so excited with all the family/special friends gifts we've been getting...also put the crib in our room, and kinda feel like we're getting there... just need to pack that suitcase!!

Babyloves, how exciting and scary for you all at the same time! You arent kidding when you say all you have to do is pack your bags. But you are also right when you say it's best to keep your babies inside as long as possible. I couldn't even imagine carring 2- I am exactly 31 wks 2 days like you with just 1 and I feel like I am so ready to deliver this boy!!!! I think it's because with IVF I have been trying for so long that I feel like I have been pregnant FOREVER!!!! But some only dream about getting to this point, so trust me , I am forever grateful, and will be patient for this little boy to show his face!!! Lots of Luck & Bedrest to You!!! Jennifer

Hi ladies!
I feel like I've been away from this thread forever. So much going on. Computer problems first off. Then I decided to take everyones advice and follow through and have the guy from the parking lot incident arrested. It was stressful, but worth it.
Thankfully I have been feeling well physically, it's the emotional/hormonal part that's getting to me. I had a melt down last week and was crying about how I would never be thin again (DH is in great shape). He was so supportive, but then a few days later I came downstairs and found him on the comp. looking at bikini models. And I cried and cried again, only now I was mad also. UGH. hormones stink!
Over the past 3 days I have been filling out a packet of 20 forms to enroll my 4 yr old in kindergarten in September. About an hour ago I went upstairs to find the dog making confetti. When I took out all the folded papers and opened them, they looked like a snowflake the kids cut out in school. This mama to be needs a day at the spa or something.
I hoe all you ladies are doing well. I will send personals with my next post!
1st IVF~DD 2004
2nd IVF~ 2008 BFP
Thank you Lord for this blessing
love and miss you gram and baby b

Hello All,

ALREADBLESSED--so happy to hear from you. You got me a little worried there for a while!

So, you got the guy arrested? was going to happen next? sorry you have to go through all of that at this time.

I hear you on the hormonal part. I've been feeling pretty ok, but then there are things that **boom** just hit me. One of my classmates gets on my nerves easily, and sometimes I can't stand just listening to her voice  what's wrong with me?...I should give the woman a break! About DH, i know some of my insecurities come up every-now-and-then. I cried the other day because I just don't feel like he's attracted to me anymore. We've not had sex in a long time (DH thinks that he's going to hurt the baby) and he barely touches me in a sexual way (he's for ever rubbing the belly). He's nice and caring, don't get me wrong, (he's become really protective making sure that I don't hurt myself, that the belly is well protected, etc), but I just don't feel that loving/sexual feeling between us. It's almost like living with a really close friend  I broke down and told him that. Of course, he was sweet and gave me a little speech about how precious our girl was, and how much we've been waiting for this and how he was afraid to ruin it just to have **a little fun.** He reassured me that it was temporary, that he was also missing making love but that he could control himself because there was a major reason to wait. Anyway, he hugged me and made me feel better, but it does cross my mind every-now-and then.

The spa idea sounds lovely. If I lived near by, I would just come pick you up and drive to the nearest spa and stay there for at least a good 6 hours

JENNY--I'm so happy to be pregnant, and I'm enjoying this belly so much. I love to have people ask me questions, rub my belly, etc. But, like you, I feel like I've been pregnant for 2 or 3 years already    just because of the anticipation every month of "are we pregnant or not?" and then of course, all the treatments. Yesterday I had the feeling of "I want this baby to come out soon" but then I thought "what's wrong with me? she needs to come out when she's at least 37 weeks, and we are not ready, anyway!!!"

BABYLOVES--I was also wondering about you, my doc friend! wow! bed rest. I know it's pretty common for twin/multiples mommies. Sounds like you're in good spirits though, that's great. Yes, keep those babies in there for as long as you can. You're doing a good job with two in there honey. Drink, drink, drink (and don't forget to eat your prunes, hahahaha). I actually have to remind myself of doing the same. I'm not good at it under normal circumstances, especially water. It's almost like a medication, I have to remind myself "girl, drink some water!!!" Thinking of you, and sending you lots of patience as you nest with your babies in bed (by the way, there's this little bird that is nesting in the tree right outside our balcony, and she's my heroine!!! she just sits there keeping her babies warm, I open my curtain and sit here on my couch and we both look at each other. It sounds cheesy, but it really makes me reflect on motherhood).

Literatriz --how is my other mommie on bed rest doing? how's your dh doing? my mom is going through something similar right now. I feel so bad because even through the phone I can hear her voice in pain. The worst part for her is that there's a shortage of medications in Venezuela right now, so she can't find the treatment she needs to help her body heal  frustrating. She decided to stay with her sister for a couple of days to relax and get her help.

SONU--like Literatriz said, 1.5 kilos sounds good to me at your stage...she/he is probably bigger/heavier now. They do put on weight rapidly at this stage! You're close my dear SONU, hang in there! How did your appointment on Wednesday go? let us know whenever you have a chance.

About me? well, I went to see my midwife yesterday and everything is moving right along. I gained 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks (my midwife thought that was great), my belly is measuring 32 cms. and my girl is already head down! of course, she's so active and dances so much around that my midwife said that there's a chance she'll change positions...we'll see! Oh, and I have a date for my baby shower: March 14th! kind of close to the due date, but it's what works for all of us and I'm excited about it. Two of my friends are hosting it, I'm so thankful for their kindness and friendship.

MICHELLE, KERPUPPLES, and EMFOSUM sending you all lots of love as well.

Esperanza: thanks for your water comments...yesterday i kept a track of my fluid intake...and i had drunk about 3 soda bottles worth of fluid (6L) or so...i was quite thirsty too i think from the steroids and my sort of pre-diabetic condition. I guess the third trimester really whacked me - i thought i was doing soo good...

anyway, about the sex part...i totally emphasize with you and already blessed...i've never felt hornier, plus being at home makes it worse...but now everytime i do it (myself), i feel like i start having contractions, and feel so guilty...so i've promised myself no sex whatsoever...of course DH is not interested, but yesterday when i told him that docs recommended 4 wks of no sex with either a vag or c-section - he was kinda bummed.. :)

I've heard that prostaglandins in semen can cause preterm labor, so right now....i'm kinda of a nun...no offense to nuns

Sounds like you and your ballerina are doing really well...have lots of fun at your shower...its fun getting little girly clothes...i've washed all of mine so far and hung them up in the closet...

Alreadyblessed: i hope the guy gets what he deserves...what a jerk for even touching a pg women...does sound like you've been really busy and hope you get some moments of peace and pampering!

jenny: i agree with you about this long standing pg..it feels like a year of my life, but it also feels good to be in the home stretch and soon have our babies in our arms...i watched a c-section clip on youtube...quite graphic...but gave me an idea of the reality of things...the incision is not so large, and it is lower down at the panty line...anyway...hope we all get our desired choice in delivery...good luck to you and ur little boy too - have u started nesting yet?

sonu: i'm sure your baby will be just fine...those ultrasound weights can be way off...i've heard a lot of contradicting weights when the baby is born...its really just a guess...i've been really trying to eat more even tho' i'm less hungry to plump the girls up...maybe try eating more nuts and beans, cheese (if you're allowed)...nuts are loaded with calories, proteins, and good omegas

lit: how is ur bed rest going? have you seen any good movies or books? I watch free movies on ovguide.com - saw the notebook recently - i'm watching stuff my DH would never watch...romance!

to all the other ladies...hope you're doing well!!

Hey there!!!

So love is in the air and I am not the only person feeling left out!!! Can you all beat my case, we haven't had a moment of 'initmacy' since I got pregnant :? The reason being the same...DH thinks nothing is as precious and valuable than this baby right now.

Babyloves - So sorry to hear that you are on BR. but in a way its good, otherwise you wouldn't have pampered yourself. Glad you checkup also went smooth and the girls are doing perfect. I have also been shopping little bit here and there and once in a day, I open the closet, look at the clothes and stuff admire and smell.. :) them and put them back. Isn't it wonderful? :D

Alreadyblessed - Cheers for you for getting that id**t arrested!! He certainly deserevd that and I admire your decsion of not letting it go...it will defnitely surpass some values to the one in your belly, though I understand how stressful it would have been. Hope the little guy is doing great!!! How are you otherwise? Tell us about your daughter's admission too.

Lit - Yay, for being almost there...:)!!
I am little paranoid person and just get hyper easily, well I must change my attitude gradually. I am saying this because the docs never said anything about the weight of the baby but it was me getting tensed!! It was all normal. It was 1.5 kgs in 32 week and there are atleast 6 weeks for him/her to cover. S/he sure must be atleast 2.5 kgs by the time s/he is here. Well, so I guess all is undercontrol.
How is your BR going on?

Jenny - Well, I also agree with you at the feeling of being pregnant for soooo long...esp when the DH doens't even come near!!! he he.
So, glad all is going well with you. :)

Esperanza - hey dear, I loved your little story about watching that mom bird from your window...its amazing how we get influenced by such things ... :) I love watching animal stories on NAT GEO and Animal Planet where animals give birth and take care of the little ones!!! Oh, there's so much to learn from there.

My appointment was great and baby is doing great too. We will decide the c-sec date next week when I go in for a detailed sonography. Just in twoo weeks time s/he will be here...:D!!

Take care ladies...!!!

Sonu-Glad all is well with you too! You girls are soooo funny, we have the opposite problem in my house - DH won't leave me alone, and I'm the overprotective one, saying we have come this far, and I don't want to do anything to disrupt the pregnancy or baby (paranoid, I know!!!) I also have a question for you, when will your doc do a c-sec? My doc will be doing a c-sec on me too-and at first came up with a date 8 days before my due date, but I haven't talked to him about it since-Do they always do it before your due date? How many days before is the general rule? Jennifer

Hey Jenny

Well, sometimes I do think...is he (DH) really controlling himself or pretending...??!!! Nasty minds we have... :D

The doctors gave me a tentative date which falls in my 39th week and which is 10 days prior to my due date. But the final date will be decided after the sonography on this wednesday. And according to them any day after the completion of 36th week is fine but tehy prefer towrads the end so that baby is in the best of shape.

What date did docs give you?

Take care!!!

Sonu, the docs gave me a date of March 30th-I am having a c-sec b/c my 1st got "stuck" in my pelvis during delivery, a scary time for us, and very painful for me. He came on his due date at 8lbs 10 oz, 21"-I guess kinda big for my pre-pregnancy frame-Normally 135 and 5'6"-but I am now a whopping 175lbs!!!!! Anyway, I see my doc every 2 wks, and he keeps saying he will do an u/s when the date is closer to measure the size of the baby, but I am growing impatient since my last u/s was the anatomy scan at 18wks!!! I guess it's so hard after going for u/s practically a couple of times a week to waiting this long is making me crazy!!!!! All my doc does when I go there is have the girls weigh me, take my BP, and then pulls out the tape measure to measure my belly, uses the doppler to hear the HR for about 10 seconds and says-"see you in 2 weeks" I don't know what else I am looking for but sometimes I want to scream and say "remember, this is a very special pregnancy with a lot of tears shed, and a lot of money spent!!!! , Don't you have someting else to check on me?????? Maybe it's just the hormones, I don't know. LOL!!! So what date are you thinking about? Jennifer

jenny- I just wanted to say I remember being in your position, being spoiled by lots of early ultrasounds and then having to wait what seemed like forever! Remember, we go to the same ob office :D I would go every two weeks hoping to get an u/s, and they kept telling me unless they have cause for concern, we will not be getting another one! DH and I were so sad about that, that we ended up electing to do one of those 4d u/s in glastonbury when we were 35/36 weeks pregnant, we just could not wait another few weeks. It was called a tiny perspective, and their site is www.atinyperspective.com. I know the economy is crap right now and money is tight for all, but it was so worth the $200. We got to see the baby for 25 minutes and got pics and a dvd with it. She also informed us the baby was breech which had not been detected by the ob, and when ob confirmed it, we scheduled a c-sec. Thank goodness we did the 4d or we may have gone into labor only to end up with an emergency section. We posted the best parts of our 4d u/s on you tube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2ylvrF7 ... annel_page

Let me just say too, now that we have her here, the 4d looked exactly like her...so if not having an u/s in a long time is truly driving you crazy...just wanted to pass along the info. I will be waiting to here your birth announcement at the end of march...coming so close!

CtMichele-thanks again for the great info! The pics of Ella are awesome!! We just may do that too!!! To everyone else, I figured I would give you a funny story about me of nesting that I didn't even realize I was doing. I am usually the big penny pincher in the house-not buying ANYTHING that I don't absolutely need at the time-Tonite I went to BJ's which is a wholesale club we belong to and bought $410.00 worth of cleaning supplies! What's wrong with me? Like my 2 bottles of windex, pledge, floor cleaners, toilet cleaners werent enuf? I have to have like 5 or 6 of each in the house for when the baby comes? I also bought 2 -12 packs of dove soap-like I'm not gonna be able to get any more once the baby comes? And 2 -4 packs of shaving cream? I can't even SEE my parts to shave anything anymore...I could go on, but I figure you ladies get the point! At least the house should be clean for the new baby......buying diapers and wipes might of been a BETTER idea! LOL!!!! Take care all Jennifer

wow jenny - bet ur place will be nice and clean for the baby! since i'm on major bed rest, i'm planning on a cleaning lady for the first time in my life...she charges about $100 for the whole house and i can't wait to see what she does...there's only so much that poor DH can do as far as cleaning, so our place is a mess...but b4 the girls come, it will be dust free :)

Hello my beautiful mommas to-be!

Yeah SONU, love is in the air and we're feeling out. LOL! you really don't want to hear about the dreams I've had lately, they're XXX

Let us know about your C-section date...Oh Lord, it feels so real now  EXCITING!!!! you'll get to see your little one one more time through sonogram...nice! I haven't had seen my ballerina since week 22, and I would love to get another one.

BABYLOVES--WOW!!!! that's a lot of fluids. Good for you my dear :) you're carrying two in there, so no wonder you feel tired. I get tired myself with just one. About sex, I told dh a couple of days ago that when we do it again, I'm going to hear fireworks...hehehhehehe! can't wait ;) The funny thing is that I used to be like a nun...no anymore! poor nuns!
Thank you for the tip about free movies on line.

JENNY--isn't it funny how complex human beings are? your dh all over you, and in my house I'm the one all over dh....hehehhee, I think he's becoming afraid of me...he's starting to look at me like I'm a predator or something

My appointments are very similar to yours. I always have questions, so I we end up talking for another 5 minutes. The only difference last time is that she checked the position of the baby.

My God Jenny...$410 in cleaning products??!!!, your house is going to be squeeky clean. Send some this way if you have some left overs, hahahhha! We are actually moving in about 2 or 3 weeks and I already told my dh that I'm going into our new place BEFORE moving all our furniture/boxes in so I can sanitize everything first, so I might be making my own trip to BJ's

My love to Michelle, alreadyblessed, kerpupples, literatriz, who am I missing? hugs all around.

Hello ladies!
I am getting settled here in the hospital, with access to the Internet and free cranberry juice all day long. They run three tests a day, listening to the hearts of the babies and then a quick ultrasound - it is always interesting. Tomorrow I will have the one that tells the weight as Baby B is not growing as expected...we are aiming to hold them at least 2 more weeks - I am not sure I will have the pacience or the physical resources to do more than taht. Congrats to all of you that are hitting the 35 weeks benchmanrk!
DH is very stressed out. He managed to get a painful thing, called trigeminal nevralgia (pain in the nerve of the maxilars)...trigeminal is a funny name for a painful nerve of a future dad of triplets! :) He needs to work as he is self-employed and it has been hard on him. Plus, I've left lost of things unfinished at home...he will be in charge even of packing the girls suitcases. Any idea of where I could get a very basic list?
Baby loves, I will follow your advice and drink lots of water from now on! The clean lady idea is fantastic! I phoned someone today!
Already blessed, I am so glad you were strong enough to get this guy arrested. He needs a crash course on cultural differences and human rights in the US - and you helped many women in the future! As of meltdowns...don't you think the hormones are already twisting their patters, from pregnant to mommy? It is a stormy turn! Hope you find calm in spite of everything. Are you still working?
CT_Michelle, beautiful video - and music! she is a beautiful girl!
Jennywit, I don't understand why you have so few ultrasounds and so little interaction with your doctor...:( Please please pick a more warm and interested pediatrician - for the long run!!!!!
Esperanza and Sonu - you are almost there...I've enjoyed the picture of a nesting bird...I can't wait to see their beaks opening up for the daily feeding sessions!
All of us (except Jennywit) are experiencing some disappointment with the way our DH deal with their and our sexuality during pregnancy. I don't know if culture/religion has anything to do with it but it is hard for them to think of a mother figure that has an active sexuality. There is very little space to discuss and try new things (reciprocal or co-jointed sessions of self-pleasing, etc). Maybe they have inherited the fear of loosing their women (remember half of us used to die giving birth until recently). But one thing is real (the New York Times magazine of last Sunday had a fantastic article about it): our brain reacts to visual stimuli and gets aroused out of the context of our loving relationship. That explains why fortunes are spent on online porn - to the point that people get adicted to the anxiety-release habit of electronic self-pleasing. I am tired of feeling humiliated by perfect bodies - as soon as I become un-pregnant...I will invest time and courage in deepening my conversations and practices with DH - hope the triplets sleep tight meanwhile!!!!!
One thing is true- men and woman have brains that react to visual sexual stimuli - and that has very very little to do with love and commitment to raise babies together. So, let's worry less and enjoy more!

Hope everyone is healthy and ready for motherhood!

Oh my goodness ladies! This thread is booming!!! It's so great to see.
Well, I'd like to catch up on some personals that I missed last time I posted, and I must say how refreshing it is to be going through similar things at this point. Not only with the pregnancies, but relationships, cleaning etc.

Lit~ I'm starting with you because I want you to know how much I admire your strength. Being on bedrest is soooo tough, and not only are you doing it, but you are doing it with THREE little ones. God bless you and your DH. I am sure you both have your hands full. He must be feeling overwhelmed as well trying to get everything done for you and his little girls. Please stay well, and let us know how the sono goes, and how baby B is doing. As far as the list goes, there is one in the book "what to expect when you're expecting" it's basic and helps you remember all the little things you need.

Jenny~ OK girl what is your secret?!?! DH is all over you? Maybe he could call all of our husbands and have a chat! LOL! You had me cracking up with the cleaning supplies too! I am such a germaphobe, and now being pregnant, and nesting.....it's like "stand back everyone, she's got the Lysol, and she's gonna use it". I actually told DH we should powerwash the shingles on the house last week and he looked at me like I was from another planet. I also feel your pain with the shaving supplies. It was about a month ago when I called a pregnant friend after taking a shower and informed her that I had an official LOVOB "Loss Of Visual On Bush". I have been doing the "blind shave " ever since, and wondering what kind of hair pattern is forming down below! LOL!

Esperanza my friend~ Isn't it nutty how these crazy hormones are. God gives them to us and puts us at our horniest when we have to waddle to get to and from the bedroom. Last week DH actually was feeling a little frisky. It had been so long, that all the tubes of K-Y jelly were dried up, so here we are ransacking the house trying to find some sort of lubricant. I finally come across a lovely smelling hand cream......after the fact DH tells me that we HAVE to make a trip to the store because it was hard for him to stay focused as that is the cream he puts on my 4 yr olds butt when she gets out of the bathtub.  Talk about a mood killer! How are your boobs doing? Mine are able to hold up my chin when I wear my bra now!

babyloves~ You've got the right idea girl. Get someone to clean your house for you. It's sooo much easier that way. I'll bet all the ladies on this thread are going to be looking into that. Don't feel guilty about the contractions after  .... it's normal, and won't hurt the baby. Keep on drinking though. That is huge. When are you due?

Sonu~ Hi sweetie! Sounds like you will be the first on the thread to go....or maybe Lit. You guys are neck n neck. I asked my doc about when they would schedule my c-section, and they too said in the 39th week. My issue is that I delivered both of my girls at exactly 37 weeks, so I think my son is going to decide when he feels like making an entrance, and that will be that. Have you thought of any names? How is your DH doing? Let us know how your u/s goes! :)

CT~ how are you and your beautiful daughter doing? Have you started the ball rolling on #2 yet, or are you going to gush a little longer over your daughter? It's so nice to have you on this site. I mean I already have children, but your daughter is so new, that it brings back all the memories, and reminds me of what will be here soon! :)
