Hi there,

I have just read that you are doing progesterone shots. I have got to have them this time and I am really working myself into a state about them.

I wondered if you wouldn't mind answering a few questions... do you have them every day? Are they difficult to do and do you do them yourself? And do they hurt as much as I imagine they will?

Good luck for your test on Friday

Hi Dolly!!!!

Well to tell you the truth I was VERY nervous about that big needle in the first place. But the HCG shot is the exact same needle.
Once you do it the first time you realize it is not that bad.
Unfortunatly with the Projesterone you have to do it EVERYDAY until you are pregnant. If you are, you have to do them for the first trimester!!
I am running out of room on my back side which is why it is starting to hurt. I am bruisin a little. But you really just get use to it. It inoly takes a second and it is done!!
They go into your backside so I can not do them myself. My husband does them.
So don't get yourself too worked up, like I did, because they really are not that bad!!!!! Trust me and I hate needles!!
Thanks for the well wishes!!!!!!!
PS. You do get side effects from the drug. Sore boobs, tired, moody, and crampy. So be prepared.
thank you

Thanks for your reply - you really have helped set my mind at rest.

I use an autoinjector for my other injections, and the needles are tiny, so were not used to using just a syringe and such enormous needles (I just got the delivery today and they look v. scarey!!). And just the thought of a needle going into my muscle makes me go all strange. But I'm sure once we get the first one over and done with the rest will be a doddle....

Fingers crossed we will both have the joy of 3 months of injections!!

Thanks again

Hi Dolly, I only had to have two of these jabs but like you, just the words muscular injection and the sight of the needles freaked me out. I too had used the fabulous pen so was used to teeny little needles....I even had to go the clinic for my jabs (they insisted, which made me even more nervous) but it was a doddle...seriously! No sooner had the nurse commented on my (tiny dragon) tattoo than it was over, I really didn't feel it at all. The next time was the opposite side, no tattoo this time to distract either of us but again, no pain.

Don't worry about the jabs, they're nothing like as bad as they sound.

love
Debra.

Congratulations from me too! :D
By the way, judging by the Hcg levels I have the feeling you might join the twins club, how do you feel about that?
