*ERT***I take the progest. injections as well as the prometrium suppositories which are just a delight  but it's a small price to pay. Baby aspirin and estridol are also a main staple of my diet. It really is hard to tell if the signs we're having are from all of the meds or if it's really from pregnancy. I had a bad dream last nite that IVF didn't take, let's just hope that wasn't a premonition.

Did anyone here get assisted hatching done? That was something that we had done and I read that this increases success...I certainly hope so!

All of you ladies with their first beta on monday....you've just about made it through your 2ww and wish you all the luck!!!!! I hope u have some good news to share with all of us!

Morning Ladies (at least it is here in EST)

I think I am going to wait for sex until after my beta. Besides, not sure how 'turned on' the hubby is because he keeps calling it the 'LV' (leaking vagina)!! Ha Ha! I told him once the pregnancy takes, it will likely be 8-10 weeks of LV so he is going to have to get past that!!! I know, TMI!! Sorry!

Here is another question for you ladies. Anyone know much about the position of the cervix to signify pregnancy or that AF is coming? I have heard that once you are pregnant, the cervix goes higher and is firm and closed. Any insight would be great!

2 more days until test day!!!! :D

Hi RosisPosie,

Yes, my RE said it was okay, but after reading some of the other ladies posts, I am going to wait until Tuesday. Can't hurt, right?

Hello!

Like Carmen I'm a noobie. This is my first post to any message board ever! I'm quite excited to have so many ladies in the same boat as I am. I'll try not to gush or type too much but excuse me if it just comes pouring out. It kinda feels isolating when everyone around me is getting pregnant without wanting or trying. Isolating as well because like some of you gals, I don't want to talk about it at work in case it fails. I don't like it when people put on their "such a pity" faces.

I just turned 35 December and I had ER 1/27 8 eggs 7 mature 7 fertilized. I've had 2 previous cycles but my embies were quite fragmented and graded the lowest they could be graded. My old RE recommended transfer with assisted hatching on day 3 saying that they would likely grow better in the womb than in the lab. This cycle is with a new RE - like him better, more monitoring VERY hands on. He called on day 3 and said that transfer on day 5 would have better success for me but there would be a risk of not having any embryos survive for transfer. My two previous cycles had no "frosties" as none of the embryos that they didn't implant survived past day 5 in the lab. So I cried ALOT when the call came on 1/29 coz potentially all the shots would have been for nothing. My DH was nice and came home for the day to give me lotsa hugs and lift my spirits as best as he could. He told me to visualize the eggs dividing just like in sports! (2 sweet) On 1/31 the RE called and said one of the embryos survived (number 6 retrieved) it was a grade 2BB blast. They did assisted hatching with this one, too. My first beta is 2/11. My boobs feel deflated and I'm getting minor cramps but I'm not bleeding unlike my other 2 failed cycles. I'm visualizing implantation and cell division like my husband recommended. Too bad RE recommended end of 1st trimester for intercourse.

Sorry to carry on.... Like I said, its finally nice to talk to someone. Baby dust to each and everyone of you. This is a big week for all of us!

Thanks again for all the positive vibes. We're keeping ourselves busy this wknd to fast fwd to Mon, but had a few seconds and wanted to post this...it gave me some hope and hopefully will do the same for everyone else wondering...

Sorry to drive you girls nuts w/ this, but is anyone feeling that heaviness down that almost feels like the period is ready to flow any sec?! I'm still hanging on though to that tiny bit of hope, so we'll see.

Btw, I read through the posts very quickly as I've gotta run out, but to answer the question about AH. Our clinic's procedure is to do AH if the blasts are not hatching on own, and one of ours this time needed a little help I think:) We also had it done on the 2 in our 1st IVF cycle. I have also heard that it can help w/ the BFP...so goodluck!

labstoo-thats true it cant it hurt!

ionlywant1-welcome i am new also just joined not even week ago(i am also 35). it seems our dates are quite close. i did er on 1-25 and et on 1-28 (3 embies) and my test is on 2-11. the wait really stinks. i broke down and did POAS came back negative. i should have just waited till the 11th. it really isnt accurate anyway from what i hear. i think it depends on the test you use. i dont really know too much about that stuff i just should have left it till i went to RE you know the guy that gets paid the big bucks.

Yes, I have that feeling that my period is going to start, but I know it wont until I stop the progesterone. It almost feels like it is trying to start but the progesterone will not let it. I always felt like this after my IUI's. The only thing that is different this time is that I feel really bloated and before I have to pee I get a lot of pressure. I went to acupuncture yesterday and she said I should not give up yet. She said I have a strong pulse now and that is an indication of pregnancy. I don't know.

Monday Beta girls,
I just want to wish you all the best. I will be thinking of you tomorrow and can't wait to hear!

Okay, so tomorrow I go for my first beta. What exactly should I expect? I mean, this is the first time I have ever gotten this far. Will they be able to tell for sure if I am pregnant or not? What kind of number should I be looking for. I am so nervous!

I just hope I get the answers I am looking for. Good luck to all the ladies who test tomorrow! Baby dust to all!!!!

Woke up this morning with a call from the nurse saying I was scheduled to be there for beta ??? Of course, I ran in and did it, but also double checked the paper and it definitely says 2/9. Anyway, since it’s a weekend, I still don’t get result until tomorrow. But, I guess it’s good since I didn’t have a chance to build up anxiety about it. No matter the results, I also am supposed to take a second beta 2/10.

Labstoo, Bubbles13,Carmen – thinking of you tomorrow. Let’s do this thing!

*Ert*
My daily regime: 3x progesterone suppositories, 2x 2mg estradiol, 81 mg baby aspirin, 75 mcg levothroid (for thyroid), prenatal vitamins and 4 mg folic acid (which is a larger dose than usu. recommended due to prior nueral tube defect)

I wished I paid more attention to my pulse beforehand. I was trying to tell if it was any different, but I couldn’t remember what it was like before.

ntrlmystc79
We did assisted hatching. They say it’s esp. helpful for frozen embryos and older women. I sure hope so.

Labstoo
Cervix question is an interesting one, but I don’t know the answer.

At my clinic, they take the blood in the a.m. and call you later in the afternoon. Technically, anything over 5 is pregnant. It can vary a lot. Here’s a chart with some ranges: http://www.betabase.info/showBasicChart.php?type=Single
They usu. want to take it again 1-2 days later as healthy pregnancy should approx. double every 24 hours.

ionlywant1
Welcome. I can relate to the isolated feeling. This time, in addition to keeping it from coworkers, we didn’t share it with many friends. The only people that know are: DH, my best friend, my mom, my boss and all of you ladies. After losing twins last fall, we felt friends really weren’t as supportive as we expected which really added to our pain so we didn’t want that in the equation this time.

All you need is one sticky embryo and it sounds like your heading in the right direction!

RosiePosie
I really wouldn’t count on HPT results. It’s so early and even the most sensitive ones start around 25. At this point, most women would still be drinking, soaking in hot tubs and doing all the fun stuff we’re being so careful about.

Bubbles13
Today I went into the bathroom, sure I had just gotten period and nothing. It’s like phantom twinges or something. You’re almost there, try to chill as much as possible.

brit1612...that's awesome about TWW and donor embies. Was it a hard decision for you to go with donor embies? You don't have to answer that. I only ask because I have 13 frozen embies right now (7 frozen at day 3, and 6 blasts). My DH and I will be donating our embies once we have the children we want.

Good luck. Hoping for your BFP and that your TWW goes by real fast for you!!

Thanks for the warm welcome Jenn. It was not hard at all once we had our second miscarrage, it just seemed right for us. We are very excited and are hoping that using donor embies will solve our infertility problems. I think it is great that you are going to donate once your family is complete!! When do you test??

Brit...I test next Monday. I really want to do a HPT on Valentine's day (Saturday), but am afraid of a false positive. So DH says he doesn't want me to do one. He says my emotions are all he can handle right now.  Poor guy.
