cost of meds

Post by NY4thtry »

over the process of 6 ivf's i have learned a lot about many things not the least of which different phamacies charge differently for the same meds..

Examples of the discepencies.

Gonal F 450 iu Metro Drugs in NY $599 Freedom Pharmacy $359

for Ganarelix Metro $95 vs Apthorp $105 Freedom $111

Does anyone have a better source for ganarelix the 250ml syringe?

for anyone who is interested pm me and i will give you other informaton on prices.. there is ALOT of money to be saved particularly for those if us who are self pay.
Me 43 dh 65
6 cycles 3 chemicals
13+ banking cycles. 2 failed transfers to Surro
12/9 transfer 2 hatching blasts to surro beta 12/ 15

Hey NY, i think you mean 250mcg syringe. IVP care has it on their designRX program. It is reduced rate for cash customers or something. I get my meds their but my are the 125 mcg syringes. There is a 1-800 number you can call for pricing.

Also, please read my post in the old lady buddy group. I think you should seriously consider cycling in ST. L with Dr. Ahlering. He is the only one using the technique i am talking about. I will be doing it on my next 2 ERs.

I hope you are doing a little better.

HUGS

Yes i know NY. But that is because he is saying what SHER wants him to say. Dr. Sher is great but he is not always right. He is only human like the rest of us. You really need to read the articles yourself. Please read the post i am referring to and pm me your email. I will send you the last article i was referring to in it. Dr. Ahlering is also going to be sending me more journal articles on it; articles that lay people have no access to. I will send you those when i get them. He has already been doing HRSS for 4 years and does not charge extra for it because he believes it should be standard practice. It is common in Europe and they call it IMSI. They have been doing it so long and it is so mainstream that they have invented machines that can do it for the embryologists. At this point he can not do it routinely on all ivf patients he will do it for patients with certain problems. And like i said, it is free!!!!!!!!! I am not spamming him. I am only telling you this to make a point. He believes, as i now do, that this should and will be the standard of care for ivf patients in the future. This is what he said in an email to me....

I am trying to incorporate it such that everyone gets it…lofty goal but not there yet. Soon.

I think everyone should…

However would do for all pts now that:

Failed cycles, with or without ICSI previously

Low responders/low reserve

High FSHers

>35yo

Male factor (non tese pts)

Prior poor blast formation in an IVF cycle

Anyone doing PGD or CGH

Please research it for yourself before your next cycle. You have multiple failed cycles due to male factor. You owe it to yourself and your husband to research it. I really think you should also encourage your husband to read the material and see if. I will get off my soapbox now. I hope you know i am only telling you all of this because i care.
