RosiePosie - Just waiting for your results.

Lady_J - Glad to see that AF arrived. YEAH!!!! Now you can get down to business. Sorry that your co-workers can't keep their big yaps shut. That was so insensitive of you one co-worker asking if they would put back 8. Of course just another clueless fertile person. As far as me, I did 3 IUIs before starting IVF. Then my first IVF cycle was also turned into and IUI, so I am real familiar with them. We have unexplained infertility so there should be no reason why the IUI should not work. Except that my body just doesn't want to be PG. I will probably start POAS around the 20th.

Hello ladies! To answer your questions...we know they put in 1 boy & 1 girl because we did PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis), genetic testing. Part of the genetic testing is to make sure the sex chromosomes are normal. So, after ET we called the PGD lab & they were able to tell us the sex of the embryos. Crazy, huh?

Lady J: congrats on AF showing! good luck on stims!

Molly & Barb: Yeah! Congrats on the BFPs!!!

Tburks & to have fun: Looks like we have our betas on the same day! We're all going to get our BFPs :)

Thank you Ladies for all of your encouragement! However, I did get a BFN. The RE said to come in for FSH test on the 2nd or 3rd day of my AF (anyone know when I can expect it?) and then we will have a sit down and disccuss the future. I have had a lot of negative thoughts about the IVF process and don't know if I will do it again anyway. I feel very torn if I should or not. I almost feel obligated to do it again after talking to all of you. I didn't want to say it before but my insurance does pay up to $50,000, i pay the copayments. So I can probably do at least 2 more cycles. It is hard for me to admit that I have insurance and that I am unsure if I want to do this again because of all of you courageous Ladies who pay out of pocket or take out loans.Thank you again.

RosiePosie- I am so sorry to hear that. Do not feel obligated to put yourself through IVF again if you don't feel like it right now. Take some time for yourself and if you want to down the road, give it another try. I had already resigned myself to put off another IVF cycle if this one didn't take bc I am SO sick of the shots, and not drinking, and not going out to bars w/ friends bc of the smoke, AND not working out bc my temp might rise too much... this is hard on all of us. I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do though.

Rosie... I am so sorry for your BFN. It is completely understandable the way you are feeling. My first Cycle was a failure. I was gutted and still am with my BFN. I don't see how we can put ourselves thru thus torture, but we do because we know what the outcome can be. At first I was afraid to try again, but after reading post after post for answers, I learned in another post, the 1st cycle is usually the Practice Cycle.. basically they will do a standard protocal on you and if it doesn't work they will see what they can do to make the cycle better next time. Like me, they have me on the same protocol, they just changed my Estrogen patches to Estrogen Injection, and added Heparin and Baby Aspirin time. Whatever they saw last time hopefully this will make it better this time. Anyway, once I got my mind into trying it again, my heart is set to it again and I am just as excited as the first time. And if it fails again, then I tell myself that I am going to take the summer off and try again in the fall. Hun, you take whatever time you need off or start again right away, whatever you decide, it is up to you and how you feel, cuz it is hard to deal with. I hope and pray that next time you will get you well deserved BFP.

As for myself, I have my appointment on Friday for bw/us...Yipee!!! So I may be starting stims that night, all I know is that I have real bad cramps right about now :x but who cares... :x

Rosie...I am so sorry about your BFN. I totally understand why you wouldn't want to put yourself through this again. But it's GREAT that INS covers $50,000, just in case you decide to try again. Once again, I am sorry for your BFN. :(

Rosie- I am so sorry about your BFN, and I am thinking about you. I know IVF is a super tough thing to go through and I can see how you are not sure if you want to do it again. At least you can take some time off and think about it.

I don't know if I am imagining things but I feel like there is some activity going on in my ovaries, has anyone else felt this way when you were on stims?

shelleyj5 - That is so cool that you know the sexes of the babies all ready. Why did you do genetic testing?

RosiePosie - I am so sorry for your BFN. I whole-heartedly agree with Waiting for 4. Take some time and see how you feel. You may be ready to jump back in sooner than you think.

Everyone else, I hope everything is going well!

Sorry about your BFN - You really should go for it again. I don't know about you but it really hasn't been that bad for me. I really thought it would be a lot worse! Maybe you could go to a different RE next time. I had RE's closer to home but decided to drive 3 hours bc of the reputation of the RE I went to. The insurance is wonderful!! Honey use it all up if you have to. Do whatever you have to to get that little baby.

Me - I'm still waiting. I have been really tired today and haven't even done anything. We are getting a big storm coming thru - tornado warnings. So i guess we'll have to fight the winds as we go out tonight.

RosiPosie~I am so sorry about your BFN. I know how devastating it is to get that news and my heart goes out to you. Be good to yourself right now. Don't rush to make any decisions. IVF can be so grueling--but the rewards are huge. Big hugs for you.

Anxious~I can totally feel my ovaries too! it's an odd feeling--but i've had it every single time ive stimmed. I called the Doc on my first IVF and he said not to worry. It's a good sign as we know we've got some action going on in there--hopefully tons of good follies growing!

Lady_J~I'm glad you will be joining the action soon.

Rosario~those big boobs are a good sign!

Molly and Barb
~Congrats on your BFPs! You guys did it. You are going to be Mums!

Chris~Congrats on being PUPO. I think you've got a good chance with 3 follies and millions of swimmers! I am hoping this is your time. I know the road has been long for you and you deserve to be a Mum at last.

I had my scan yesterday on day 5 of stims. I felt a bit discouraged as the Doc could only see 5 follies between 10 and 15mm. i was hoping for a lot more this time because I have been taking Chinese herbs for the past 3 months to help my egg quality/quantity. I go back for another scan tomorrow.

Rosie - So sorry about your BFN. IVF takes a lot out of us and I understand why you might not want to do it again. Give yourself some time, have some fun and it might be later on you might decide to do it again. There is no rush. The RE's office will always be there and unless you are planning on changing jobs, your insurance will also be there. I also have insurance, which will pay for 4 cycles. That is my stopping point. I have told myself I can handle all of this until my 4 cycles are up. If I am not PG after 4 cycles, I will be done. If you do decide to cycle again, maybe set a goal for yourself, like this will be the last cycle or maybe you will try 2 more. Wishing you the best of luck.

Thanks again to all of you. Its amazing how everyone keeps up with all of these posts!I am sorry that I usually batch thank yous and congrats but it is a little hard for me to get computer time.

anxious-i did feel alot of activity going on in my ovaries also.

tburks-i actually like my RE a lot. Besides being very attentive and proffessional he is right smack in between work and home. So it is convenient. I think I mentioned before that he does everything in his office, so I dont have to worry about going to labs or hospitals.

waiting for 4-dont be jealous but i am chilling a good bottle of Reisling right now !LOL!

to_have_fun_08-i made the same decision if i do continue once the insurance runs out thats it. i cant afford to do this on my own.

Thanks again and good luck to all!
