Sari - Welcome to the board! Are you starting birth control pills today? Good luck to you on this journey!

kimbob - How did AP go? I have switched the herbs I'm taking now that I'm in the follicular phase.

W4B - I don't even know what to say about your recent discussion with RE. It does seem quite strange to say your egg quality is poor with all of those blasts you two make! Good luck with the CGH - is that expensive? I wish it were an option for us, but we already know I only make a few eggs at a time - so it would be too risky. Being an aunt is definitely amazing and it does help me get through this - but at times it can be torture. Knowing the clinic advised me to try DEs, the chances of this 3rd round for us being successful are slim.

Sisi - Yea on O instead of AF! Have you continued your BBT measurements? Has this indicated anything? And, Have fun in FL! Super jealous here in Chicago...

Hey ladies,

sorry I haven't posted in a couple days, everyone in my house is sick right now, so I haven't felt too good. Hopefully it will go away soon, I hate head colds.

I went for my echocardiogram yesterday and also my sounding at ER to measure my uterus. Last time I went for a sounding I clearly remember being poked inside while he was measuring, but this time I didn;t feel a thing. He said he will have no troubles transferring my embies. He said he is waiting for clearance on my heart before scheduling polyp surgery. My reg. dr called today and said echo looked good, a few slight abnormalities, but nothing to be concerned with. She said she was going to call RE so she could fax over the paperwork they needed to clear me for surgery. Now I am just waiting for RE to call with surgery dates and new cycle dates so we can re-coordinate with TESE dr. I still have a stress test tomorrow, but don;t expect any bad news.

Welcome to our thread Sari- I remember going through my first ivf and it was pretty scary, we will answer any questions we can for you. What is your ivf story?

Welcome W4B- I don;t really know much about CGH and PGD testing. Maybe you guys could inform me about it. Let's hope all of this will work for you and you will get your bfp soon!

sisi- toss some florida sunshine my way! Have fun.

kim- those are some crazy dreams you have! What is syranel used for?

Sara, wishful, sprout- thanks for thinking about me. I should have posted earlier, just too tired and sick.

Sprout0 what are you in school for again? Which class is kicking your butt...I lucked out and my on campus class is the easiest one I have ever taken, I don;t even have to go back until may now. It is my work from my independant studies that will kill me this semester.

ok all, I am going to clean and then relax, I just made some homemade chicken soup, yum!

Michele - I am going for my MBA and I am currently in my 15th of 16 required classes to graduate. I'm taking Operations Management at the moment and while the material isn't hard - the class has a heavy workload with 3 individual papers, 2 simulations (we pretend to run a plant online for a grade) and 3 group presentation. Oh, and one individual presentation. I've written my first paper and it took me almost 8 hours to complete with research, etc. UGH!!!

I'm glad to hear your surgery is moving forward and things are clearing up for you! I hope you and your family all feel better soon!

March/April cycle buddies??

Hello:

Michelle - Here is my story. I'm 34 years Old, my DH 42. We've been married 15 years. 8 years ago, we tried UIU two times. It didn't work. My DH has low count and motility. Three years ago I went into surgery for ovarian Cyst. One year ago, my Obgyn told me I have Ovarian Cyst again, Uterus myoma and Endometriosis. He told me, if I want to have a Baby, is now or never. It scared me. Well, we decided to try IVF and here we are. Tonight I take my first BCP.

Thanks you all for the support you give me.

Happy Friday the 13th!

Welcome Sari! I'm sorry to hear about your myoma and endometriosis. Have you had treatments for them? With DH's low count and motility are you going to do ICSI? This is my first time through too, and I know how you are feeling. It's funny how they tell us that stress doesn't help, but this is such a stressful position to be in, isn't it? We are all here if you need us. Good luck with your cycle!

Lee, your nephew sounds adorable! I seem to have forgotten, what is your course all about? As for 'Dell', it's funny, my DH accused me of having the hots for him, but he really doesn't turn my crank. Now if it had been Taye Diggs' character...

Sprouthaus, that is some work load you have for that class. Yikes! AP went okay. He's not going to do any herbs right now, just try to keep me relaxed and improve the blood flow to my uterus to try to help ensure implantaion. I may go back after all this though. He says he could make my periods less painful and more 'smooth' and possibly 'cure' my allergies. That sounds great to me!

Michele, yipee!! You got your clearance already! Yeah! Now you can just get that stress test over with and move on. About the sounding, is that common practice or is that another one of the ways that our Drs are all so different? Synarel is used to lower my estrogen and supress ovulation for my ivf cycle. It's just a nose spray for needle phobes so we don't have to inject lupron. I read the info that comes with the spray. It is usually used for 6 months to put you into menopause if you have endometreosis. But I just have to use it for about 30 days. No menopause for me, thanks!

I hope everyone is keeping well. I'll wish you a happy Valentine's Day now, 'cuz I know you'll all be too busy tomorrow to read this board!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello ladies:

Kimbob - Three years ago, my doctor did a laparotomy and told me I didn't have endometriosis. But, a few month ago, my especialist told me, "your doctor is wrong, you have endometriosis". He did a lab CA25, (I can't remember the exact name of the lab) and it ways elevated. He said that confirmed his diagnosis. The true is I feel tired most of the time, and have a lot of pain. The especialist don't want to treat the endo now, he want to try this and then the treatment for endo.

Well, the weekend seems to be a slow time on our thread, so I thought I’d finally post my ‘story’. It’s not very exciting, sorry about that! I’ll keep this part as ‘short’ as I possibly can ~ and if you know me, you know that’s not easy!
I’ve known DH since I was 10, he was 11. We sort of re-met when we were 19 & 20 and were virtually inseparable from that point on. So we’ve been together for almost 17 years and will have our 13th anniversary in May. He’s always wanted kids and wanted them when he was still young, “like 24” he said. I wanted to wait until we had good jobs and a house, etc… So we waited until we were 27 and 28 to start trying. After being told, “just relax” for a few years from my Dr. I switched Drs and she said ‘just relax’ and if nothing happens after a year of really trying at all the right times, we’ll get going on it. She did eventually send us to an FS who was a complete jackass. He was so rude. He sent me for an HSG and when that Dr refused to do the HSG because of my shellfish allergy the FS called him a chicken and said it was my problem because it I didn’t tell him I was allergic. Then he read my form and said, “Oh, there it is … with like 27 other allergies”. So he basically blamed me for having too many allergies! Then he said I was too young for him to be concerned with (was 33) and that he could do laparoscopic to look at my tubes, but that costs about $1500 and “I’m a tax payer, too you know”. So since he was 90-something % certain my tubes weren’t blocked he was not willing to spend any of his hard earned tax money on me! When I went back to my GP for help, she was impossible. She tried to not refer me – I had to really push her – to an OB/GYN to try to get my tubes looked at. And she flat out would not refer me to the clinic I am going to now. She said the FS I went to was a part of that clinic. I told her no, but she wouldn’t listen. (BTW – he is NOT part of this clinic). So after two years of trying to push my Dr. I just went to a walk-in clinic to get referred. When I showed him all my test results, etc… (I had to fight with my DR to get my records, even though by law she must give them to me if I ask.) the clinic doc was shocked. He said we should have been referred years ago and “Gee, that’s strange because your Dr was an OB in India, but Canada does not ‘recognize’ that training so she is working as a GP”. That was it – I now have a new GP and had my consult with this clinic in Dec. The Dr has been great and said that; yes we should have been referred years ago. He even said that when he lectures at the university he always stresses that age doesn’t matter – it only matters how long you’ve tried. So, now I finally feel validated – yeah! And we are finally on the way to (hopefully) getting to have the family that we have dreamt of for so long! I just hope that we can get lucky and have some quick success with ICSI, b/c I don’t want to be 50 by the time I finally have kids!

Hope you all are doing well…

Michele, how did the stress test go? Do you know when you’ll get to move forward? Are you doing anything special for Ella’s first Valentine’s Day? I keep trying to look at your pictures on shutterbug, but I don’t seem to be able to make it work. I’ll ask DH to help me – that should work!

Sari, I wish you lots of luck with your IVF. Will you be doing ICSI too? Either way, I hope it gives you the baby you've longed for for so long! I have a friend with severe endo and fibroids who was put into early menopause to try to reduce it. She's been told that she'll have just one shot at getting pregnant afterwards. I am guessing she would really understand the stress and pressure that you are feeling. I wish you all the luck in the world!

Hope everyone else is keeping well.

kim- wow, I am sorry about all the trouble you ran into with what sounds like incompetent dr's. I would be so mad if I was held off because I couldn;t get referrals. I am glad you are all sorted out and ready to go now. I hope you have quick icsi success too.

My stress test was good. I did much better than I thought considering I am a bit overweight and was sick. I thought I would run for like 2 secs and feel like I was gonna die! But I made it to the 3rd stage, like 7 minutes and probably could have kept going, but my thighs were burning. Stress test was normal, but blood pressure was high. He is sending results back to my reg dr, who I guess will call me this week. I think I need to watch my sodium/salt intake. I don't add alot of salt, but i eat low carb, and i think alot of my foods are high in sodium. I hope to hear from RE soon about polyp removal.

I am not doing anything very special for ella for valentines day. I have gotten and written her cards for each holiday, and I put them in her baby box so she can read them someday. I dressed her up in an outfit with lots of hearts and she has a bib that says will you be my valentine. I did go to walmart and got her an elmo I saw in their ad. It is called many kisses elmo, and when you put his hand to his mouth he makes a smooching noise. She seems to like him. When dh ets out of work we are going to visit my grandma (ella's great grandma) and then to the mall for some food and dh wants me to pick out some jewelry. What is everyone else doing for valentines day?

As far as the picture site, I don;t know why it won;t work. Alot of people make themistake of typing www in the front, but then it won;t work. Just type Ellamichele.shutterfly.com (no www in front). I hope it works, there are lots of good pics there, of course, I haven't updated in a couple weeks because my laptop has been buggy.

Ok, happy valentines day everyone! Hope your sweethearts all treat you like the princesses you are!

Kimbob-

I am horrified to hear of your Dr. trouble, that is plain crazy!

DH is working but got me a nice present and a small version of my favourite chocolate (to be very honest he also wrote an original song for me called "Groovy Romance") he also promised to make it up to me at another time..... so its me and the dog but I am heading out to see the Shopaholic movie, always could identify with that concept if you know what I mean!

No ovulation, no period........ oh well who cares, its a long weekend in Canada

Gosh had a crazy work thing come up at work during the week too long to go into details but basically someone is lying to try to get me in trouble :( after I blew a whistle on a performance issue.......it is hard being a boss sometimes!

Hope you are all having a great Valentines day!

Michele, I tried the site again and I get the message that I need to update my server. I guess my computer is too out of date. I'll try again later on DH's computer. So what type of jewelry did you choose? I hope you had a nice family Valentine's day.

Sisi, sorry to hear you're alone with your dog. It sounds as though you have a very thoughful DH, though! So how was 'shopaholic'. I have to admit that I have actually read all of the books. Not really high quality thought provoking literature, but entertaining for sure. I'm curious; it seems from the commercials that both Becky and Brandon are American in the movie. Is that true, or did I just fail to catch the accents in the snipits I've seen on TV?
Sorry to hear about your troubles at work. I hate office politics!
I forget; are you on lupron and awaiting AF to start stimming?
I was temping this month just out of curiosity and I think the anxiety over all of this caused me to ovulate later than I usually would. Plus the nurse told me that the down-regging meds would delay AF a bit. So between those two things, I'm not expectng to see AF until atleast 8 days later than I would normally see her.
BTW, what's your holiday for? It's not a long weekend here in BC. I think we get some other weekend that you don't get, but I can't remember if it's "Victoria Day" in May, or if it's the first weekend in August when we have "BC Day". Either way, hope you enjoy your holiday!!

AFM. we went to a 90th b'day party in the afternoon and then went to dinner. We went for dinner early so that we could avoid the big rush. We are such a little old couple!!

Take care everyone,

Kimbob-

About "Confessions of a shopoholic";

I have read all her books too, I love her books! Great read for holidays on long flights I find. The movie is worth seeing but it is not quite like the book but close enough. Some terrificly funny scenes as you can imagine and yes they both sound American to me. And the guy who plays Brandon is SUPER QUITE!

Did anyone see "He is just not that in to you" yet?

We have Familyday on Monday!

Hi to everyone hope you are having a great weekend!
