2 week wait buddies

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and have been trying to catch up with everyone's stories. This is my first IVF and my beta is on 2/20. RE retrieved 7 eggs and all 7 fertilzed. Transferred two 1-8cell, 1-7cell on day3. Wanted to cryopreserve the remainder 5 but found out from my nurse today that they did not make it. Anyone with no embryos to freeze? My DH and I had 2 failed IUIs. 6 cycles of clomid prior to the IUIs with my OB. Tomorrow will be a week from transfer. Been feeling crampy after transfer and on and off cramps up to today. Some lower back pain as well. Have read that implantation takes 6-10 days after transfer. Dying of suspense and thinking of taking a HPT. Noticed that my beta is on the same day as some of you. Keep me posted with your results! Worried that since the remaining embryos didn't make it to blasts will be a bad sign that the 2 that were transferred will be the same. Those with BFP, what symptoms did u experience? Congrats to all of those with BFP, hang in there for those with BFN.

Well it wasnt a BFN, but the Beta was a really low low 8, it should be at least a 50- 11 days past the transfer. My chance at this point is about a 5%. A chance is better than none i guess.

my 2nd transfer was similiar, i was POAS on 7th day and was positive. POAS about 4 more times- all positive and by the 11h day it was negative. Beta was negative too.

Anyhow I just POAS and got a faint line with a First Response. Does anyone know what level First Response detects at?

I go for another Beta on Tuesday, so I will POAS everyday, praying and hoping the lines get darker and that I will be that 5%.

Welcome to our little club Kikie. I had 6 failed clomid cycles and went straight to IVF. I've had three cycles and because the embryos were so fragmented I never had any to freeze for any of them. I've had two cycles with day 3 implants. I've had a friend with day 3 implants crappy cells and now has 2 year old twins (boy and girl). They said there is nothing better than the uterus at growing embryos. This cycle I took the chance with the lab and waited until day 5. I too had 8 eggs 7 fertilized. Of those only ONE made it to day five and that's what they implanted. So far BFP. Next beta is tomorrow 2/13. I have cramping like I'm going to have AF and today is 11 days after transfer. I had spotting 8 days after transfer lasted 12 hours with bedrest. Went back to work to today (day 11) and began spotting again. The breakdown I had was very minimal compared to first time I spotted. It falls within the window of implantation. Nothing to do but wait till tomorrow. Had breast tenderness off and on. Having bad headaches starting yest. As for POAS personally think it adds stress coz if its neg then it may just be too early. But its hard coz I know you're curious. I know a lot of us have POAS.

Siouxsie: Way to hang in there! This all looks very good from my standpoint. I myself go through periods of elation and depression. From periods where I'm calculating due date, designing nursery, thinking of names to periods like today when I started spotting again and think that its all over and I'm never going to be a mother. Wasn't supposed to test until 2/16 but they moved it up to 2/13.

Carmen’s clinic sounds more full service than mine. At mine, it’s only blood test in the a.m., call in the afternoon with results (no POAS). Two days later: same thing again. In my case, we’re doing a few extra rounds since we’re not out of the dark yet. First U/S around week 6.

Welcome. 8 and 7cells have the best success rate so you should be in great shape; each embryo is unique so the fact that the others didn’t want to freeze doesn’t reflect on the ones trying to implant. Earlier in this thread people talk about their symptoms, mostly premenstral complaints – sore breasts, cramping…

Your situation sounds a lot like mine. We did 3 IUI's with clomid and all negative. We just did our first IVF. I had 8 eggs retrieved only 5 were mature and 4 fertilized. We had 2 eight cell embryos transfered on day 3. The other two did not make it to the freeze. I started to worry about the same thing once I found out the other ones did not make it but I got my BFP on Tuesday. I also had symptoms just like I get before my period. The cramps were exactly the same. The only thing that was different was that I felt really bloated. I think you have a really good chance and should stay really positive!!

That is great news that your hcg went up. It looks very good. I had a friend who went through this and her first level was a 25 and slowly went up each test day and she has a 1 month old now. 45 to over 100 is really good! I have one more beta test on Monday. So far mine is doubling. Then the nurse said I will find out about my first ultrasound. They really do monitor us so closely. You should definitely stay optimistic. 9 months from now we are going to be talking about our newborns!!!

Thanks guys for all the input. I guess Beta of 8 is really low. Really confused how the HPT detects the hcg at 25 and detected my 8. I am still staying as hopeful as possible but looks like I'm going to wind up with another BFN. This emotional roller coaster really really sucks. I wanna just cry and cry, but the hopeful for me being the 5% says no.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! Tomorrows my big day! I'm sooo nervous but so excited! I want to poas so bad, but I'm restraining myself. The good news is I work for a doctor's office, so I'm getting the lab result faxed over to my office, just in case my RE doesn't call me right away, since his office closes at 12 tomorrow! I feel about the same, except for more cramps. My fingers are crossed for a high beta!

Siouxsie About the Folic Acid deficiency, my doctor discovered it on a blood test. I don't know the name of the test, though.

Good Morning all--I went for my BETA today, but I am spotting this morning and have REALLY bad cramps. I don't think that is a good sign. My RE is going to be in surgery all day so they said they will call later on this afternoon. I guess all those POAS were maybe a false positive.

I am going to go and try to keep my mind of this day so I will keep you guys posted.

My friend let me know about two days ago, that when she was pregnant with her DS she spotted in the first trimester. So try and hang in there!!! her little one is beautiful and in June will be 2!

Good luck today. All of your symptoms seem compatible with success. I have a friend (mother of twins via ivf) who was talking to her dr. about various symptoms. The dr. said, “I hate to break it to you, that’s what being pregnant is.”

I made the mistake of calculating the due date before we even transferred. It’s my birthday. In 2008, on my birthday we found out about the ancephely. So, I really felt this one was meant to be. Still do, “cautiously.”

Don’t give up now! I keep thinking there’s such a fine line between optimism and insanity. Hopefully, you won’t have to deal with the worst. But, if you do, you will. For now, allow yourself some hope.

Barb i think bleeding is normal sometimes, but I am wishing you luck, and a BFP. All those test I am sure did not give you false positives.

Kittycat: Hang in there. We'll all be pulling for you. Souxsie's charts show that beta as low as 5 progressed to normal singletons. Get yourself a big bowl of ice cream and just chow down!!

Barb: I'm spotting and cramping, too. I started last Sunday. I spoke to my RE Monday morning and he was very reassuring. He said that this is common that it is stressful but it doesn't necessarily mean the end. I got BFP on Wednesday 101 and he said this number was great and that for all intensive purposes I was pupo (for newbies pregnant until proven otherwise). After bed rest it stopped but I went to work yesterday and it started again. Its dark brown. Once again my doctor was very reassuring. I POAS after the second time I bled and was reassured it was still positive. Waiting for beta today but I'm on bedrest for the weekend.

Siouxsie: Have fun on your weekend away. In the midst of waiting I forgot that its valentines. Also for MTHFR you should be on Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12 as they are cofactors needed for folate synthesis.

Wednesday: Good luck to you tomorrow. Its nice that you have a plan B in case RE doesn't call.
