Hi everyone

Still no sign of baby yet!
I was really hopeful on Saturday. Had lots of backache, period type pains, constant Braxton Hicks all afternoon. Started with contractions at 8pm which quickly increased to every 5 mins, although not painful enough. I rang the delivery suite for advice to see how long I should leave it (As I need to have had the antibiotic's for a few hours before birth) and they said to go in to be assessed there and then! Had to then arrange for my parent's to come over to look after Jenna.
3 hours later I was back at home (Which I expected). I was told I was only 1cm dilated (I was 2cm last week apparently!) although my cervix had shortened more. My contractions had slowed to every 10 mins although they became much stronger after been examined.
What I couldnt believe after going home and eventually falling asleep was that it all stopped! Apart from some backache etc yesterday, no contractions again!
I am now hoping the reason he is waiting is to arrive on his Daddy's birthday tommorrow (A lot of Dave's family including Jenna have arrived on each other's birthday's or anniversary's!) otherwise it's Induction day for me on Thursday. (Sher - I so hope you are right about me going naturally!)

Vicky - Looking forward to your 4D scan update! I bet it was amazing seeing your little one on screen in such detail.

Hi everyone

He has arrived at last! Nathan Alexander was born at 17.46 on Thursday 2nd October weighing a whopping 10lb 2oz!! He has a head of dark hair just like his sister did. He is very alert, but I guess he should be 2 weeks old now!
I had to be induced, but that was fine. The 2nd stage of labour was hard though! Im glad I didnt know he weighed so much I think I would have opted for more pain relief than gas and air!
Im getting used to sleepless nights again! I had no sleep at all last night because he either wanted to feed or be held. At least Im back at home now and Dave is on paternity leave so can help out!
We will be introducing Nathan to his big sister soon, which will be interesting!

Will catch up soon!

Love Kim

HOORAY - at last! Congratulations - you must be SO relieved that he has safely arrived and you are back home. Well done for just having gas & air - I had everything going last time! Take Care and I hope you manage to get some sleep - you'll have to make the most of Dave being at home. Love Vicky.

Very nice name. Congratulations! You will have to let me know what it's like to have a boy around the house. Take care of yourself and believe me. . .it goes much faster the second time around. I don't know where the 7 months have gone!

Hi all

just bringing this back up to the top. Hope everyone is well aand getting ready for Christmas! I have already got almost all of my presents as my due date is the 21st Dec so I had to be prepared early - most unlike me - but actually so much more relaxing! I am now starting to get nervous about the labour. I have been advised to try a vaginal birth even though I had emergency c. section last time and although it's unlikely I can't stop thinking about the chance of rupturing my scar. Anyway I think I'll have to stop thinking about it as I'm not getting anywhere with all my deliberations and am just making myself anxious!
Anyway I hope everyonw else is well. Love VIcky

Just dropping in...

Post by nes »

I don't know if anyone will remember me, but I used to join in on the Oct 2005 thread many moons ago...

Since then, I was blessed with two beautiful twins, Jessenia and Maqkai. They are nearly 2 1/2 now, and such a handful, but I wouldn't swap them for anything.

I just wanted to pop by and say hello to all of you who shared my journey with me, and also to you newbies who had success after me.

Happy Christmas 2008 everyone!

Nes, Jess and Kai. xxx :D

Hi everyone

Been meaning to post for ages, but I had to make sure I got on soon to wish Vicky all the best with labour and birth of her little girl! (Although I bet you have already had her and beaten me to this!) I hope you are doing ok Vicky and look forward to hearing from you soon!

I did type a very long post approx 3-4 weeks ago, then pressed the wrong key somewhere and lost it all! Very frustrating!!

We are all doing fine. Nathan is a little treasure. He sleeps very well at night and in his car seat or pram. Very good for shopping!! (Only when I only have him though! I Wouldnt attempt it on my own with two!!). He is quite fussy when we are at home though. Wants to be held or fed all the time! But I will happily put up with that if I get some sleep and shopping time!!

Jenna loves him. She is so good with him. Very attentive. I hope it continues! She can be quite naughty when I am feeding him though, and knows that I cant stop her torturing the poor cats or throwing the cushions off the settee!

Sher - I hope your family is doing ok. I bet your girls keep you busy! It's a lot harder (But more fun) with two, isnt it?!

Nes - I remember you! Its nice to hear how others are doing. I bet this christmas will be very exciting for your twins now they will understand much more.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to everyone. I will try and post more in the future if I can!

Love Kim

Hi Kim

Thanks so much for that. Unfortunately I have STILL not had the baby - I was due two days ago and have now been scheduled in for a C.section on the 30th Dec if nothing has happened. I have to say I am totally ready now and am rather sick of being pregnant - NEVER thought I would say that but I just want to get this labour done with and was hoping to have it out of the way by Christmas. Oh Well - now I hope I am not in hospital for CHristmas day so I can give Olly all his presents.

It sounds like you've got your hands full how lovely that Jenna loves Nathan so much.

I hope everyone has a brilliant Christmas - I will let you know what happens! Love Vicky

Hi Vicky

Quick post while my little man is asleep (It doesnt last long during the day unless he is been held or traveling somewhere!!)

You sound just like I did at the end with Nathan! I loved my pregnancy with Jenna, even towards the end. I only felt ready to have her once my due date arrived and she was only 2 days late. Nathan was a different story! I was convinced he would be early so was well prepared 2 weeks before due date. I still cant believe he is an October baby!

I hope you are not too uncomfortable. I had a lot of pain towards the end and dealing with a toddler as well is not easy is it? I hope you spend christmas day with Ollie and that your baby arrives when you want her to!
Good luck with everything. At least you have a date when she WILL be here, which helped me (Even though I hadnt wanted to be induced, it all worked out well!).

Have to go, Jenna's asking for a story and Nathan's just woken up!!

Love Kim

Hang in there Vicky. I feel for you. The second time around I was really ready the last month. Looking forward to hearing good news soon.

Sydney is now 9 months!! Amazing how fast time goes by. Siena will be 3 at the end of January. Siena is quite funny these days and her papa is her most favorite person in the world. She has a habit of wanting everything Sydney has in her hands. I guess it's a control thing and letting her know who the "big sister" is. She is finally potty trained so I am quite happy to have a little less diaper changes. I already see the difference in personalities with the two and it's amazing that you can really start to see it this early. Sydney has been quite fussy at night. Could be the cold, teething or separation anxiety. I wish she could tell us! However, we are really enjoying the holidays with them this year. Siena has just turned into a little angel around this time of year. Could be because we tell her that Santa is watching to see if she is bad or good(;

Hope all is well with everyone and Happy Holidays!

Hi everyone

Its been so long since I last posted, now Nathan is settling easier on an evening Im at last able to sit down and type with no interruptions!

First of all, Congratulations Vicky on the birth of your little girl, Tess. A bit late, I know! I had kept looking on the parents board for an update and I must admit hadnt bothered to read it as there was no further updates! However, I see that you have changed your ticker, so I know she is here!
I hope all is going well (Its a bit mad with 2 isnt it?!) and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sher, I hope your family is doing ok. I cant believe that Sydney will soon be one! Time flies so quickly, doesnt it?

Jenna has chicken pox! Poor thing, she is doing so well though. She has started having a sleep again in the afternoon since she has been ill, but otherwise she is quite well apart from her itchy spots!

Nathan is 20 weeks old tommorrow. I love having a baby again. He is so cute and really giggles at us now. It is hard work with two, but its nice to see them together. Apart from the odd bit of naughtiness with him (Such as grabbing his toys when she's that way out) she is very good with him and seems to be so proud that she has a little brother.

Take care

Love Kim

Kim,

Glad you are enjoying Nathan. Such a great name for a boy. We never did get to use our boy name "Alex."

It is definitely a juggling act with two and we have since moved to a new house so things got really crazy for us. Sydney is approaching one-year old and it is amazing that one year has gone by. It is also hard to believe that I was pregnant last year at this time - seems like that was a long time ago. Sydney has had her share of colds and ear infections this winter and is going in for a consult on getting tubes. Poor thing is always on antibiotics and not getting good sleep.

Siena is now 3 and she is definitely becoming her own person. I love it! Such a demanding little girl who has to have a different utensil for every different food on her plate, must wear particular socks to school, wants no spots on her clothes and no one to touch her band-aids. The other day she would only answer to us calling her "princess" and not Siena. The next day, she said she was a cat. We always get a good laugh out of her. And she has a great sense of humor already.

Sorry to hear about Jenna and her Chicken Pox. Better now than later. I heard that they are really bad for adults. We have an immunization here that avoids kids from getting the Chicken Pox. It is two shots before the child is 5 years old. Never heard of this?!?

Hope all is well with everyone. I think we are done having babies, but I will live vicariously through everyone else's experiences from here on out!

XOXO,
Sher8
