In the middle of 2ww...test on 02/27. They transferred an 8 cell and 6 cell on day 3. Last time, we did day 5 transfer and got pg. The center assured me eggs were beautiful, and it was better to transfer on day 3, rather than risk waiting until day 5. Anyone have thoughts/success with day 3 transfer?

Hi stayinpostive - My BETA is on the 26th so we are kind of on the same schedule. I also did a Day 3 transfer and my doctor told me the same thing. I was surprised they were doing Day 3 b/c when I came back for the transfer I still had 6 embryos going that they were hoping to freeze on Day 5 or 6. So I was confused why they weren't wait to transfer on Day 5. But they assured me that the embryos looked so good that it would be best to get them back in their natural environment sooner. At least we both got the same message.....I am trying to just have faith that they know what they are doing.

So are you having any symptoms or did you have any symptoms on your first successful IVF? This is our 1st time and I'm sure I'm over analyzing but I can't help but wonder if I should be having any symptoms this soon.

Keep me posted how things go with you!! Hopefully we will both be VERY happy here soon.

I did a 3dt and had the same 8cell and 6 cell. I got my BFP on Tues!!!. Good luck to you!

Adam
I think you should tell your wife about this board!! It is a wonderful place for encouragement and we have sooo many questions throughout this procedure it is a comfort to have people to talk to that are going thru the same thing. Good luck today - Hope you two get your BFP!!

Carmen, that is wonderful new, congradulations.

Adam, welcome and good luck to you both. Keep us posted

Molly I had almost the same dream, mine was that I was spotting and they put me on bed rest so I would not loose all "four" babies(that was scary). So, I think I am just going to take it easy and not stress about anything.

Carmen, you lucky dog! What's the name of that doctor in Panama again? Sounds like he's worth his weight in gold. Just kidding I like my doctor just fine. Did you compute your due date yet? I know what you're saying about being nervous. All I can say is that we'll pull through this together. The babies are clearly growing and thriving.

Welcome to the global ivf community Adam. You sound very supportive of your wife. I wish her luck. Of course she's welcome to read along as the saga continues. Perhaps she'll be tempted to post something of her own. I find it very supportive. Good luck today and please keep us in the loop.

Good luck to Brit1612 tomorrow. I know that the wait seems like forever but there is plenty of baby dust to go around. Also good luck to tburks on your second beta. I only wish that my ultrasound was sooner but *Ert* and BarbD are getting a sneak peak. I bet BarbD is having twins, too coz of all the vomiting.

JennLB Congratulations on posting such great numbers. Sorry to hear about your mom. At least they caught the blockage and are doing something about it before a heart attack. What will be great medicine for you and mom is an enlarged ultrasound picture once march finally rolls around. My solution to destress as always is a big bowl of ice cream.

Floridagirl I think all of us were convinced AF was coming for sure. We all felt crampy and bloated and heavy as if AF was coming any minute. As for the girls, can't really tell if that's the injectable progesterone or the natural progesterone the ovary is making. My "girls" actually felt deflated 10dp5dt and I thought for sure the IVF wasn't working. Now they're ballooning and I bought myself my first 32 B cup today. DH likes them too but I told him he could look but not touch.

Stayinpositive Welcome to our growing group. I would trust your doctors if they said they were good quality embryos. Technology is always pushing the bounds and the newest trend is day 5 transfers. However, there is a large body of evidence (not to mention a whole mess of ladies on this board) that show great success with 3dt.

I'll probably mail out an updated tracker on the 22nd coz there will be a lot of updating in the next few days.

Welcome to all the new members. I can't believe how many friends we have on this thread now. I feel like I just posted it yesterday and was feeling all nervous and anxious about the 2 week wait and now I am 5 weeks pregnant. To all those still waiting just hang in there, stay positive, and good luck!!!!

That is wonderful you are having twins. I understand your nervousness but is is all going to be ok. I have my first ultrasound on Friday so we will find out how many. A couple of my friends think we are having twins but I don't think my numbers were a for sure of that. I started at 230 then went to 583 and then 4 days later 2573. I am just happy it has been doubling. I can't wait to see the little sac.

Thanks everyone. Today's test was not the news we wanted. :-( We will take some time to digest, talk with the doc, and then look at our options. I did tell my wife about the board, so i am sure she will be popping in eventually. Good luck to everyone!

Well....Adam told me about this site & sent me the link with the hopes I would look into it--thank you! I am so glad he was able to find a place to sound off because he spends all of his time being strong for me. He is an amazing man & I know I owe him for being my support. We did not get the result we wanted & to think about doing it again after wanting to have a baby for so long seems so overwhelming to me. I know I want to meet with the doctor to know what he thinks of what went wrong, what is our best chance & what we need to do. When I first heard the news I said to myself that I couldn't bare to do this again. I know people have and have been successful but I also know people who have and were not. How does one keep finding the strength to deal with the disappointment & to keep going? When do I know I'm done trying? Does anyone else feel this way?

Welcome A & J goch- I am sorry for your negative results. I just finished 1st round of IVF and on 2-11-09 I got a negative result. I am currently waiting patiently for my RE appointment on 2-27-09 to go over everything. I feel like giving my body a rest before I do this again. So that is my plan if RE ok's it. You and your husband found a special place for understanding, support, and knowledge. It is incredible how all these ladies keep up with everyone and take the time out to respond personally to a lot of posts. Good luck and God bless!

Hey kt257 - it is always good to go thru this 2ww with others. I have symptoms, but I think much of it is from the progesterone (tired, tenderness in the am) and retrieval process (very mild cramping). I wish I could remember how I felt during 2ww of my first. Are you feeling any symptoms?

The toughest part is not over analyzing everything....and, staying away from too much Internet research.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

jgoch & adam & rosieposie- sorry for your bad news. I think most of us girls on here have gone through what you are feeling and can all sympathize. Hang in there and have faith, even though I can't seem to accept that myself either!

ionlywantone- LOL! on your growing girls! Mine are sore and swollen but I do know mine are from the PIO shot, they are almost hard lumps??? Hubby can't seem to keep his hands off, even though I yell everytime, they HURT!

Well girls, I cheated this morning and POAS. BFN! Its been 7 days since my FET 3d3t (2-8 cells, 1-4 cell). Super super bumed this morning. Some say 7 days is a little early, but my normal AF start date would be tomorrow, I'm only every 24 days, so I feel like something would have shown. That sucker was NEGATIVE in like 2 seconds....not even the faintest little positive line AT ALL! BOO HOO, and I'm super AF feeling anyways, just like last time with my fresh cycle. Guess I'll have to stick to the waiting game for the Beta on the 25th.

Well good luck to all the girlies with Beta's coming up.

Carmen- congrats on your twins...how awesome!

All you other girls rock with your soaring BETA numbers! I'm jealous and happy for you all at the same time!

Hi ladies. I haven't logged on this go round because I felt like I could handle everything but now on my 2ww I am freaking out. Beta is Monday 2/23 and I had preg. symptoms (gaggy/breast tenderness) on Tuesday and a little on Wednesday but seems to have subsided today and last night I started feeling crampy. Have read the board and see some comments about it being normal but I still feel crazy about it. I had felt tiny cramps in random areas prior to this but these cramps feel all over like a full fledged AF cramp. No sign of AF but we will see. I need to chill....LOL.
