really scared

Post by musica102380 »

Hey all- I finished my first round of IVF this month and had my transfer on January 6th. I found out 8 days later that it was successful and I am pregnant. However, when I was supposed to be 5w 3d last friday the doctor could not see anything and was worried. Then on Monday he saw the gestational sac and said it measured perfectly for 5w 3d which was late. He also said my numbers were very high and looked good on that end. I dont know what to think. Even when IVF is used can you be a few days behind? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks.

I was up to 6 days behind up until about 12-14 weeks so yes it is possible to be behind even with IVF.

Good Luck.

The implantation might be a little late, you probably go for another check in a week, then you'll see more clear picture.Good luck!

Musica- I too measured behind for the first couple of weeks, always about 4 days behind. The doc couldn't ever give me a real good answer to make me feel better but I can tell you that eventually my baby caught up, and I am now 31 1/2 wks with a healthy baby boy!!!! Good Luck, & try not to worry too much!! (Impossible, I Know!!!!) You will feel much better I'm sure, when you see the heartbeat, but remember, that will be later too. Jennifer

natasha,

i'm going through the same thing, but my case may even be worse. i went for my 1st us on tuesday at 6w5d. they only saw a gestational sac and a potential yolk sac (i think that is what they said) and no heartbeat. they said the sac measured 13.8mm and put me at 5w4d. i have to go for a repeat us in 5-7 days from this past tue. they said they want to give this pregnancy the benefit of the doubt. i think i will miscarry and i hope it will be soon. there is a one in a million chance it may be ok, but i don't think so since some of my sypmtoms i had seemed to have subsided (heartburn, slight nausea, and my breasts are still sore but not as full as they were). they want me to stay on the patches and the prog suppositories.

i am very depressed...this cycle has had a lot of ups and downs. my second beta didn't double normally and i thought it was over, but then it picked up really well for the 3rd and 4th betas and i was thinking more positively, had some good symptoms, etc....and now this. talk about playing with your emotions.

i'm hoping the best for you as i know how tough this is. there is a board called missed miscarriages....google it...read it....there are a lot of stories where these girls were measuring behind, but that everything turned out ok. good luck!!!

dcu917 and bantonio, thank you so ,much both of you.

I can`t help but feel sadness and hope at the same time,I`m scared to go to this site cause I don`t want to believe I`m actually losing this baby...

I`m going for second u/s this Mon` and praying they`ll see a h/b.

I`m praying for you too dcu917 and hope both of us will have good news at our u/s.

My beta was 10,400 at 6 weeks and 3 days, not sure what that means but the nurse seemed glad.

Anyways will update you how it went Mon`.

Good luck and baby dust,

Natasha.

thanks, natasha and bdantonio.

bdantonio - you went through so much at such a young age. i am so happy for you that God blessed you with two babies!!!

natasha - your beta sounds great. my RE's office doesn't check hcg at this stage. i even asked yesterday if i could get tested and she said they don't do it and don't recommend it since betas level off at this point and don't tell you much....and that it all has to be confirmed by US. it would be easier for me to see what they were doing, but i'm going by what they say. thanks for your positive vibes. actually, that website has a lot of positive stories...much more than the negative ones. they were like bdantino's story with her daughter. i am praying everything works out for you, too!!!

Wow,thank you so much for the kind words,it makes me feel a little better knowing my beta looks good.

I`m praying this will be a viable preg` for both of us.

Don`t forget to let me know how your u/s went.

I`ll just have to wait patiently until Monday.

I`ll go to this website and hope it`ll help a little ease my worries.

Good luck to us all,

Natasha.
