Aquanatal class

Post by Helen Reid »

Hi all

I went to my first aquanatal class last night and it was great i felt really good after it but i did not think it would be as hard as it was the midwife that was there said it would get easier the bigger my bump gets. i had to wear my old swimming costume and boy was it tight. Tried to buy one yesterday but could not find one to fit me the story of my life at the moment i still cannot find maternity bras to fit me have been on about 20 websites all over the world. They do nursing bras in my size but i have been told to try not to wear them yet but i think i will just have to as this underwire is doing my nut in and the middle bit is sticking out further and further depending on what i am wearing its really noticable.

I have my 20wk scan date through and its on friday 26 march not until 4pm. I also got my results through from the blood tests and i am low risk for both spina bifida and downs so thats good.
My mother in law is still not taking much interest but i have just decided to not bother with her.

sounds like a good idea to me, uninterested mother in laws you could just do without. Try not to let it get to you and enjoy your pregnancy.

I keep meaning to try aquanatal but the 2 classes I could go to are during the day and I can never seem to get away from work.

YOu need to try and wear bras that are not underwired because the underwire can do some sort of harm to your milk ducts (or something like that) so maybe even a non underwired that doesn't quite fit you, might be better than the ones you are wearing.

Good idea - must try and sort out some acquanatal - just always knackered after walking the dog!!!
As Lisa says you must stop with the underwired - very bad for you - even the nursing bra is better. I will dig out some numbers later - you have probably tried them for support bras

Hi Helen

Aquanatal classes are great, aren't they? I'm convinced that's why Sam loves his bath time so much now!!!!

Have you tried John Lewis for bras? (although for nursing bras, I had a choice of one, in one colour!!LOL) Apparently, Bravissimo have them as well...

Well done Zoe

Bravissimo is one of the ones I was thinking of! Not being rude Helen but not sure if J Lewis do your size!

LOL - OMG, dare I ask what size? JL go to at least 'H' if that's any help.

Just read about your M-I-L - go with the 'ignore her' advice!!

No don't say that (sorry Helen did not mean to offend) - now just wondering if I have got my pg bra brain in a bundle and remembered all wrong - should be working or I would go through all the old posts to see what size you are Helen

If I am totally wrong - please excuse me - I am a moron
Happy weekend

Hi girls

I am a 40 h/j now. I have been looking at non wired ones and i think if i remember most don't up to my size. My mum sent for a catalogue and they do three in my size so i am going to try them later. Bravissimo do the nursing in my size and most sites do them bigger so i won't have a problem then i hope. Will let you know how i get on.

i am away on a girls weekend this weekend (a murder mystery weekend) and i hope its not to find out who killed the mother in law as she will be there. I am sure it will be fine as long as i am not crabbit and she doesn't start her rubbish. The girls know how she can be so at least i have support. My mum and sis are going to, my poor mum is sharing a room with her. So after a few vodkas they will say something if need be.
I will have a bit of retail therapy as everyone has given me my birthday money early so i can buy myself something nice before i spend it all on baby.

Hope you all have a good weekend

Love Helen

Helen - sounds like an interesting weekend - enjoy! don't woory about your size - I only know JL do an 'H' as I had to get one. My one hope for pregnancy was that Sam would eat a couple of sizes away - not go up. LOL  No chance it seems...

Tracey - still laughing, girl.
