hello everyone, sorry I have been away for so long. I do log in and read but by the time I want to type anything my "me" time is usually up! anyway I have a couple of minutes and wanted to say hi.
How is everyone doing with feeding? I would love to get some easy/quick recipie idea's as I'm getting bored doing the same old things. My two are enjoying cheese, avocado, banana, toast and I'm making them spag bol, cottage pie, veggie soup but would love some new idea's.
I went to a twin class today and met another set of twins the same age. I'm now worried mine are a bit slow! actually I'm not worried as I'm a firm believer that they will get there in their own time but these two were pulling themselves up, eating cookies, helping themsleves to a drink....my two just comando crawled accross the room and looked in awe at the others!
On a personal note, I STILL don't have my AF back. I'm not complaining but do you think I should be worried? I breast fed until November but since then NOTHING. anyone in the same boat?
OK, must go and do the million and one jobs I have to do. Still managing without any help so it's tough at times but I wouldn't change anything for the world.
Carolinagirl - Your Miley is JUST FINE!!! BOTH my babies have gone through the banging the back of the high chair thing. They are experimenting and feeling their environment. I mean you put them in this HIGH chair up off the floor so they are checking it out. What my baby boy does is very different than those silly things they do. He may just be a little more sensitive to environmental stimuli but I won't know for quite some time...
Feeding...? I feed my babies eat combinations of things. I make a black bean and corn puree that they LOVE! I will try the avocado. They eat banana and cereal for breakfast every day. They LOVE the combination applesauces (blueberry, strawberry, peach) - no sugar added of course... As far as AF - I BFd until July and got one in Sept but now I am on HRT because I am all messed up but through this I get an AF every other month. Doc said I wouldn't but the estrogen suppresses a hypothalmic disorder and I guess I make my own estrogen too... I don't think you should worry. It could take up to a year to get your AF back. BUT if you don't want to wait then certainly see the doc and s/he may do bloodwork...
Walking....? Babies can start walking at 9 months and it can extend to 15 months when they begin. My sister began at 16 months and she DID have some gross motor issues they noticed but its not a worry for any of us right now... In fact, I know an 8 month old JUST pulling herself up and cruising a little bit (my babies did it at 7mo and they were 3 1/2 weeks early) but the cause of this is that her mom holds her all the time... We have to see if we are interfering too...BD, my guess is that you're not interfering but that your baby is smart and realizes she needs real balance before she takes that first step. Remember, there is a range in months for each developmental step. I am a pre-k master teacher and you would be surprised and the differing ability levels when they begin school at 3 - even if they were born in the same month - some may be able to skip and some trip every time they try, some can hold a writing utensil in a pincer grasp and some fist it and some can't even fathom holding it...!!! Its really amazing to watch their growth thereafter as the ones further behind excel more quickly because the others learned it earlier and they are staying within the top of their range longer. No worries ladies...please...

cocoa its funny she can get to her feet and will stand there alone not holding onto anything for like 15 minutes but will not even attempt to walk unless shes got someones had or a puch toy and she only needs one hand. I swear she can she just knows shes fast at crawling.
Coming close to 1st birthdays!! Any plans yet? Any babies saying words? Miley has said da da, mum, and baba. She use to say da da all the time but doesn't say it anymore. She loves to watch the backyardigans!!!! I guess it is all the singing they do, but she sits there and will not move! I can't wait till it gets warmer to start going to the park more!!
my little one turned 1yr old on 2/8/09 and she says bye bye mama, dada, poppop, mommom, hi, momo (or her sitster morgan), and she says ruff to the dogs
Re: Feeding, Ellie is just 9 1/2 month now and she eats whatever we eat but without the salt and obviously chopped up very small, some things she has difficulty coping with i.e. couscous, but she loves tuna with chooped tomatoes and pasta and her favourite of all is pilchards! She loves going swimming so I guess she is a little fish!
At a baby signing group I attended for the last month, there was a lady there who gave birth just after I had Ellie and her baby was walking unaided at 8 1/2 months...incredibly...and extremely weird seeing this tiny tot scooting around.
Ellie still isn't crawling, she just doesn't seem to have the co-ordination for it, she will stand and can even pull herself up when she holds my hands, she can get up onto her knees but bounces until she collapses in a heap...its hilarious. I am not concerned at all at the moment, she will do it when she is ready.
Ellie has got her 1st car...its a super duper pink one with flowers on it, I'm not sure of the engine size...lol I will try and post a few pictures of her in it at the weekend.
I was unwell earlier this week, I could hardly lift my head off the pillow, luckily the worst day was when it was DH's day to look after Ellie so I just slept and slept...anyway...all is fine now and Ellie hasn't caught my bug.
Hope you are all keeping well
Mandy

Mandy - what was wrong? I am really sick today. All my joints and bones hurt and I am tired... Doc put me on ampicillan for my sore throat but other than that I think its a virus... tylenol helped and I am able to eat some soup...

If you are living in the U.K. Ellas are the best baby food ever! Stephie loves it and it gives you 4 things in one and it is organic. Love the fruits and vegetables. I know she is getting good nutrition when she eats these. Probably better nutrition then we eat since I don't eat enough fruits and vegetables.
As far as self-feeding goes, Stephie loves
pineapple
grapes
cut up chicken
baked salmon
cheese
cucumber
and bread.
These are her staples. I am feeding her a turkey burger today.
Regarding crawling. It's not a milestone anymore. Many babies go from sitting to walking without crawling. My friends child starting talking at 9 months, but did not walk until 15 months. She is in the gifted program at school.
Stephie is all over the place. Almost walking but needs to hold on to things so she cruises around. I love buying baby clothes. It is so much fun!
All is well.

Hey cocoa, sorry you are not well...being from the other side of the planet it is unlikely you caught it from me!!!!
Mine was sickness...which I initially thought was from the 2 big bars of chocolate I had on the Sunday evening, but then I had headaches and achy joints. I couldnt eat for 3 days....yippee...I lost 5.5lbs...lol Anyway, I'm feeling fine again now, but can't stand the thought of chocolate yet, which is a good thing!
Hope you are feeling better soon

So Mandy I may not have CAUGHT if from you BUT THOSE ARE MY SYMPTOMS TOO!!! My headache was so bad last night that I couldn't sleep and I had to resort to taking one of the sleeping pills my OB prescribed the day I was discharged from the hospital after giving birth to these twins!!! I took ONE pill of the 7 she prescribed and I forgot I had them in my night drawer but there they were like a godsend or I would have gottn NO sleep at all. I have been nauseous and not really had an appetite but THANK GOD I have not gotten "sick" and talk about achy joints - I thought I had developed severe arthritis "all of a sudden!"
All the babies sound so wonderful... Its so amazing how they grow and develop and we can all pretty much expect the same "milestones" - I have been in touch with BabyB by the way and she is so pretty... Remember her? She is the Ashton/Demi couple... twin boys...lost a little girl previous to her boys...? I hope she comes back here at some point to share some news...I am looking forward to hearing from her again and from Michelle and Lisa - they are both due soon...
Hope you are all well...

I ask for help, usually people are too busy with their lives so I cope. I have to ask God for help and he often provides by giving me strength. My sis-in-law usually comes through too but she lives 30 mi away and I didn't ask her this time as my dad was here overnight Fri with his finace....it helped...timing is everything! Thank you for asking...
LADIES... Do you realize that ALL babies born between March 24th and April 11th, 2008 will be celebrating their first Easter after their first birthday??!?!??!?!? WOW.... My babies were born AFTER Easter last year and will celebrate their first birthday BEFORE Easter THIS year!!!

What is everyone doing for 1st B-Days. I am just having a small get together. Has anyone decided on a special 1st B-day gift? I am finding it hard because we have just bought her things as she has needed them. I don't have my eye on anything in particular right now.
