hi ladies, i've joined this forum for about 3 months now, I'm 29 with no problem, and my DH 35 with low sperm and low mortility. Did first IVFwith ICSI in June 2008, 18 follicles, 15 matured, 8 fertilized, 4 made it to day 3 and were all transfered. Had negative result. Now, we are starting on 2nd IVF with ICSI next week. Any suggestions or advice for us. Anyone live in OHIO that is going through the same thing. Please, reply, HELP ME!. GOD BLESS U ALL! Thanks a million

Hi Branda,

I am from Ohio too. What part of Ohio are you from? What clinic?

This is our first IVF for male factor too. We get our BETA results on Thursday so I'm REALLY nervous right now and hoping Thursday comes quickly. I'm really hoping this works!!

I'll be thinking about you during this cycle and hoping for the very best for you this time!! Did the doctor give you any reason your first try didn't work?? Our doctor and all the nurses were all overly positive - hopefully yours is too!

branda...I am also from Ohio.

This is my first IVF with ICSI.

I had 20 mature eggs, all 20 fertilized, but only 15 made it. We transferred 2 blasts and froze 13 embies! My ER was January 28, 5dt was February 2nd. BETA was February 16th, BFP! My first BETA at 14dp5dt was 830 and my 2nd BETA at 16dp5dt was 1962!

I've since had some pains going on and am having my U/S 8 days early to make sure everything is ok.

My Clinic is the Cleveland Clinic and my RE is Bryan Hecht, whose office is in Canfield, Ohio. LOVE HIM and all the girls at his office!!!!!!

I couldn't have asked for a better clinic!

Hi Jenn! Very crazy - my clinic is the Cleveland Clinic as well. But my doctor is Dr. Goldberg from the Solon office. Absolutely love him and all the nurses. They really have made this such a great experience.

Now I just really hope I get a BFP on Thursday. This week is going to take forever I have a feeling. I wish I was at least really busy at work to make the time go faster!

This is kind of crazy, I am from Ohio also and also go to the cleveland clinic. My RE is Dr. Attaran but Dr. Goldberg did some testing for me. I absolutly love the clinic and the nurses and Dr.'s. I am patiently awaiting the results from my 2nd Beta which was done this morning. They told me I didn't have to have a 2nd one since my numbers on the first (442 15dpt) were good, but I insisted. Now i am worried that they are going to take forever to get back to me since i am the one who wanted the test and not them. do you ladies know at what point they suggest we go to our regular OB. I don't want to call yet and schedule an appt if it's going to be a while.

niki...my RE, Dr. Hecht, wants to do my U/S first (which was originally scheduled for March 5th) and he said that if everything was ok with the U/S, then he would at that point refer me to my local OB/GYN.

Hope this helps. Also, my BETA results were always given to me by 3:00 p.m. so hopefully you'll be getting your call soon. CONGRATS on the first BETA!!!

hey niki!

This is very crazy!! So I asked that question once and they said they like to do a u/s at 6 weeks to make sure they see a heartbeat and then you go on to your regular OB. But I would be like you.....wanting to call and make an appointment right away. Congrats on your BFP though!! Very exciting!!

I'm hoping I'm like the rest of you Cleveland Clinic girls and get BFP on Thursday. I'm hating this wait right now. I have to ask - did you feel any symptoms before your BFP?? I haven't had any major symptoms just yet so it's making me a little worried. I have had a slight headache for the past 3 days so I'm wondering what's up with that!!

I had no symptoms. As a matter of fact, I had cramps like AF was coming. I hope the next few days are busy for you so they go by real fast!!

10/08/08 Tubes removed

01/05/09 Lupron (day 21 of cycle), 15 units

01/16/09 Follistim, 250 units (coasted from 1/24 to 1/26)

01/26/09 Trigger shot

01/28/09 Egg Retrieval (28 eggs, 20 mature, 20 fertilized,
15 made it to good embies)

01/29/09 PIO shot, 1cc

02/02/09 5 day Embryo Transfer – transferred 2 blasts, froze 13 embies

02/16/09 14dp5dt BETA = 830

02/18/09 16dp5dt 2nd BETA = 1962

I just called and they asnwered, my 2nd beta is 832, which she said is great. I am so relived, we really want twins, but I would be soooo happy with just one healthy baby if that's what's meant to be.

As far as my protocal, I was on Lupron on my 21st day past my december cycle, then I went on Follistim 225 IUs on Jan 23rd if I remember correctly and was on 225IUs until the 28th then they raised it to 300IUs until the 2nd then i coasted (no shot that day) and then Triggered on the 3rd and had my retrieval on the 5th. My transfer was 3 days later. and they transfered 2 good quality embrios and froze 5 i think. I started my Progeterone shots the day after the retrieval I think (it's so bad you are so focused on this stuff and then 2 weeks later you can't remember anything) The shots aren't that bad, I am actually choosing to stay on the shots rather than the sup. for now atleast.

JennLB25 - I have a quick question, my beta was 832 at 16dp3dt and your was 830 at 14dp5dt - would that put our numbers at the same point. I am not sure how that works. Has your Dr said anything about nubmers being good and high or normal or multiples or single, the numbers just peak my inquizitive nature. I wish you could tell more by the numbers.

Thanks Jenn, My RE is using similar protocol as urs. Have u heard of Dr. spiritos? I'm currently on bcp, will start lupron shot on 2/24/09, then follistim, then trigger shot ovidrel, progestrone oil and endometrin suppository. I'm really praying hard with this new RE and new protocol. My RE also suggesting assisted hatching with 3 day transfer or 5 day transfer with assisted hatching depends on the quality of my follicles. What do u ladies suggest that work best. Please, reply soon

so i called my regular ob and she wants me to come in for my first baby visit this monday! I am excited, it makes it all seem so real. I called my RE and she is completely fine with that. She said if they want to do the 7 week U/S they are ok with that too.
