scan update

Post by Juliana »

Well girls, I had another scan and my wonderful babies are still there. Silly I know, but the previous night I had some spotting and cramps and i gave in to panic a bit so what a joy to see them there and grown! In fact 'twin B' engaged in some nice acrobatics, first time i saw one move and then we want back to the other one and it had woken up too and moving. it was amazing! they are both around 3 cm now which they tell me is normal for 10 weeks. The doctor could also see a blood clot or a spot where the blood comes from and it seems to be not right on top of them so that's some relief. The IVF clinic actually discharged us and sent us one floor up to prenatal diagnostic and gynaecology for further follow up which sounds somehow both encouraging and scary. I will soon have the blood and ultrasound test I think, possibly next week. well that's a worry for next week, for now I am happy they seem fine so far!
love,
juliana

Great news Juliana - it'll be a relief. Don't worry about giving in to panic - it's normal and I confess I was the same despite people telling me to calm down. It sounds like something I had (they said haematoma) which I think is something like when it attaches and it pulls slightly away, so there's bleeding and bruising. Apparently, if it is that, it's very common and in a lot of cases the small amount of bleeding is naturally absorbed back into the body, however, in some cases it just comes out to panic the hell out of you. Anyway, apart from the panic - it went away about 14 weeks with me and now I have Sam sleeping in the next room.

It is scary when the IVF clinic discharges you, but look on it as the next step and the fact that they were happy to discharge you. Enjoy this time as much as you can, and take it easy - all 3 of you :D

Hi Julianna,

The worry just never stops does it, I know what its like to bleed through pg I did uptil about 18wks of my pg on and off and you automatically think the worse. Try and relax and enjoy the pg as much as you can, the little ones will be here before you know it.

Dear Juliana

I am so pleased that your scan went well and that your babies are growing nicely. I am tentatively posting a bit more on the boards but am still finding each day hard to face. I love reading good news from everybody so I am sending you lots of love and good luck for your precious babies. I know it is easier said than done but try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. It is such a special time and should be treasured.

Take care

Love Dagny xx
