Hi Bianca - elcome to the thread - yes we visited clinic in January and was very impressed - modern and very clean and efficient. DH went again on Thursday to leave a sample to freeze - just in case and he even said the 'mens' area was good, clean with loads of porn to assist them

When are you due to transfer , how odd would it be if we were there at the same time !!!

Pauline - get that email sent - it will be lady called Anastasia that responds and she is very efficient with excellent english!!

Chris - hows yoiu honey ... any update ??

Kelly - hows the babies ?? - keeping you busy I guess ??

DH trip on Thursday went well - except he decided to hire a car instead of getting taxis and bus - is was -10 degrees ! - he had dinner with our friends and then on way back to airport he got a flat trye so missd his flight - so it ended up costing an absolute fortune for another flight and overnight accomodation at the airport ... oh well these things are sent to try us !!!

Have a good weekend everyone

love

Carolyn xx

Hi

Heard back from Anastasia (at Gennet) - exciting/scary :?

She is offering us a possible date for initial consultation on 5th March or 12th March - OMG  I'm still wondering if we are doing the right thing. Just imagine, if we go ahead, then they could possibly have a donor lined up for us by June/July. Will let you know what date (if any) we choose.

Carolyn, your poor DH. What a way to end the trip.

Hope everyone else is going good.

Hi Again,
I am glad that Gennet was nice. I am going to Gennet for my first appt 4/2 and will have the transfer sometime that following week. That will be funny if we are both there at the same time!

Anastasia is so nice and helpful there. I have emailed her a million dumb questions and she always answers well. Some of her emails are from late at night Prague time, she must work late hours or log in from home for email a lot.
I just realized I was on a donor egg thread. I did a search for Gennet as I wanted to find others who had/are going there and ended up here. I am using my own eggs this try but if that doesn't work will go to donor in another try...

Welcome Bianca! Best of luck to you with your 1st IVF! Why did you decide to go overseas instead of staying in the US?

Pauline - counds like you and DH have got to figure a few things out, make sure this is really what you want right now, because it really could happen. Best of luck -- it isn't easy. Thinking of you.

Carolyn - glad DH's appt went well -- Too bad about the flat! Have you asked to see if your clinic has a car service, so you don't have to try to get there on your own next time? Hope the next month or so flies by for you -- Will be a really nice time to be in Prague when you are there, I am sure.

chriss - when you least expect it, you'll get that call. The wait is hard though, especially when it seems like everyone is moving ahead. Like waiting on the runway and 17 planes are ahead of you and you just want to take off and be on your way with everyone else -- Thinking of you.

kelly - thanks so much for your support here, cheering all of us on! Hope all is going well with you and your little family, and that you are enjoying all that is new each and every day.

My beta is tomorrow, finally(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I'll have some news tomorrow evening, assuming the lab isn't too overloaded, due to the (unofficial) holidays here...The HPTs still have 2 lines, which is just a miracle to me in itself! -- So I would guess something is going on in there, can't wait to find out what...I'm positive, but still trying not to read too much into things till I have a better idea...Cautiously optimistic, I would call it!

Have a great day,
xx summer

Summer, that is exciting that the home tests are showing something, can't wait to hear the result of your beta! How soon can they do the beta after the transfer?

I am going to Gennet instead of closer to home since even with the plane tickets and hotel costs and everything it is still half the cost compared to the US.

hi girls, thanks for your good wishes!

carolyn, before you know it, you will be right where I am right now!

bianca - They usually do the beta about 14 days after Transfer. Due to holidays here, I have had to wait 5 days longer to do the beta....My clinic also recommended waiting at least 17 days, just to be sure a urine test gives a fool-proof result, before having a beta. But every clinic is different. I have seen some girls here go for a beta as early as 11 days after transfer.
Good luck to you and follow what your RE recommends. You must be getting excited! I think also there is probably a cycle buddy thread for your cycle time on the IVF page of this forum where you can also talk to others who will be cycling at the same time as you -- check it out as well, if you haven't done so already!
Also great that you have a buddy right here with carolyn!

will check in again once I have a result from my doctor -- so nervous and so excited....!

hi to all the eggheads!

hi!
Well I have my information, but have no idea if it is really good or not. She said the numbers were okay, but she was also very busy when we spoke and I am not sure I got the numbers correct, because I wrote the same number for both the hcg and estrogen. -- so I will have to call again tomorrow and try and get it all straightened out. I am only certain that I am to schedule an u/s for a week from today.
I will also ask if she wants me to come in again for a 2nd test before the week is over...she only said to come in again in a week for an u/s and that was about it.
So, the "fun", what I really mean is, uncertainty, never seems to end. On top of that, probably from all the nerves today, I have cramps like AF -- gotta figure out how to relax here -- would be nice to just drink a glass of wine, but that is a no go for a while -- too bad, just when you need it!

Sorry for the "me" post. Will write again when I know a little bit more.

Hope you girls are all doing well! xx summer
