Welcome, Hopeful4baby!!! Sorry, you are having such bad luck. I do have a couple of thoughts. One, have you investigated having your tubes re-cannulated? If you did that you could do injectable iui cycles. That would be alot cheaper and you could do IUI every month. It would also allow you to try on your own when you want a little break. Two, if you want more than one child then, you probably should consider doing some back to back banking cycles. By the time you have your first child and are starting for number 2 you will probably be 42ish. Your chances of finding a good egg then are much slimmer. So, you might consider doing multiple ERs and banking a bunch of blasts before you start doing ETs. Just my 2 cents worth. One more thing, i wouldn't waste time trying to loss weight or anything else. The age of your eggs trumps all else.
Missy, congrats on the awesome beta!!! Now you are officially PG. What day post ovulation/ER was your beta? I am trying to show the number of tries it takes for the current baby. That is why i have you at number 1. Does that make sense? If you look above where you log in there is a picture of a person with the word profile beside it. Click on that then go down to signature. There you can add your age, DH age, DD age plus the fact that she is and IVF baby etc. Then every time you post that info. will be below it.
Suzanne how was the US?
Tammy, i don't know what to make of the o pain. Are you charting cervical mucus etc? If so did you have any and when?
Santa, i am so happy they all made it for transfer. Now you are PUPO too!!!!! When is your first beta?
Kat, what's up? How many of the eggs were mature, fertilized etc?
Lynnie, what i don't understand is how they know it actually codes for something? If it is in you it isn't doing anything. I am going to have to do some research.
Waving hello to the rest of you. Let me know where is messed up please.

tHANK YOU for your great advice Kelly do you think 2 months would make a difference in my eggs?
the ultrasound went well... saw and heard two heartbeats!... the little squirts are cute... and my beta is now 46800... the doctor has begun to wean me off of the progesterone - now I'm on 1cc, every other evening.
AKMom... wow! 17 is terrific... I anticipate you'll do real well, but I know you're super curious re: fertilization results... lots of luck... keep us updated!
hopeful... I'm sorry about the BFN... I know the feeling well from the years of trying to conceive naturally... but please remain hopeful... remember, success may be right around the corner.
SueQ and Santa... congrats on PUPO... sticky vibes!
anyone I missed... I'll catch you next time.

betas (dpER) 14: 383; 16: 1244; 22: 10038; 30: 46800; 44: 207,553 (2 heartbeats!)
Kelly: I had a 25 day cycle last month. I had ovarian cramping on day 11 (which should have been ovulation day). I also noticed stringy cervical mucous on day 10 and 11. I really think that I ovulated and that the OV watch did not pick up my LH surge. I wish that I started testing with the pee sticks earlier. I did not start testing until day 14 (based on the readings from the watch), which was obviously too late. Today is cycle day 9, so I need to start testing using the pee sticks ASAP.
Suzanne: That is wonderful news on your twins!!
Hopeful: I'm so sorry to hear about your negative.
Kat: How frustrating!!!! My Embryologist was good about calling me every morning to tell me how many were still in the running.

Tammy, my cervical mucus always switches back to none fertile the day after ovulation. You can really simplify things if you will check you mucus every time you go to the bathroom and temp. Once your mucus changes from sticky or creamy to wet or egg white you need to do the deed at least every other day. Only after you have had ovulation confirmed by sustained thermal shift can you verify ovulation. Your body can surge, stall, surge, stall....and then ovulate. But you cervical mucus and temp shouldn't change until you actually do ovulate.
Suzanne, congrats on the 2 heartbeats!!!! You and your DH must be over the moon.
Hopeful, no, i do not think 2 months will make a difference in your egg quality. But, i also do not think a few pounds or acupuncture will alter the outcome of a cycle either.
Kelly its A LOT Of DNA....its the size of a chromosome and its intact....same as any of the chromosomes. There are tons of genes on there!!!! No way they would all just be defective!
I mean if it was a tiny itsy bitsy piece or did not have banding...its like hoping an extra chromsome won't code for anything...see what I mean? The sequences are all intact and there are *many* of them....its basically chunk(s) of another chromosome and so will work the same way as if it was three copies of 18, but at least with that, you know what is on 18...
I hope they identify which chromsome(s) its made of...

Got it!!!! Sorry I didn't understand at first. So, Friday, Feb 6th was my ER and Monday, Feb 23rd was my Positive test and Beta...so do you count ER day as day 1? If so, it was Day 17 I guess.
Just waiting for the phone to ring with my HCG results from today......hope it's doubled!
Looking forward to hearing some good news from the other girls PUPO!!
Hello everyone, am on day 6 of my 2ww, am trying to be fatalistic about it and not get my hopes up. Do you ever do this? I try to visualise getting bad news so that I can "train" my mind and body to take in bad news without my falling apart. I am sure The Secret (did you read that book) would say that bad things happen to me becuase I am always thinking negative thoughts, but this is my coping mechanism.
SueKiwi, how is your 2ww? I am not feeling anything yet other than being extremely bloated, ugh.
Kelly, thanks so much for updating the list with everyone's info.
i need to make this quick, i am so freaked out. the doc called and said 15 eggs fertilized but there is some fragmentation (WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN??!?!?!?) he wants to wait another couple of days and wait for the blastocyst! I am so worried, I dont even know where to begin or what to think i will research this to death, i'm sure.
later
Kath

thank you ladies for all your kind words re: the little squirts... I wrote to my RE re: the BPM, and he responded that they were both in the 150's... I also questioned him re: the fact that the sacs in the sonogram pic were SO different (one is large and strangely-shaped and one is quite small)... the embryos measure about the same (5.3mm and 5.9mm)... I had read online that the sac size and shape can be indicative of abnormalities... his response - sacs definitely vary and what's going on inside is what matters... the size of the embryos and their heartbeats were totally normal.
that being said... santa, I know how you feel... every milestone feels like I dodged another bullet and I'm always waiting for my luck to run out... I'm VERY nervous about the upcoming testing, for example... but I try, desperately, to be grateful and trust that God is in control, not me... it helps me.
AKMom... I read up on fragmentation a bit prior to my fertilization report... I recall their saying that there CAN be fragmentation to some degree and still develop to viable, healthy embryos/fetuses/babies... if (and I sure with 15 it's not "if", but "how many") the embryos make it to blast, I understand that the pregnancy rates are higher (i.e., day 5 transfer v. day 3 transfer)... hope that makes you smile... good luck - I'm thinking of you.

I will catch up tomorrow but i just wanted to tell Kat not to freak out. A lot of people of fragmented cells. It is like pieces of cytoplasm. Just because it is fragmented doesn't mean the embryos are bad but with too much fragmentation they will not make a baby. Some think it is do the ivf process itself or the culture media used.....and other theories. They can actually remove the fragmentation at the same time they do assisted hatching. Try not to panic. You have a lot of embryos. In that case, they almost always take them out to blasts anyway. That way they can weed out ones that are not so good and use only the best. The rest of us would kill to be in your shoes.

It is like caused by pieces of cytoplasm that are broken off of the actual cells inside the embryo. Just because it is fragmented doesn't mean the embryos are bad it is only when there is significant fragmentation that you have a problem.
