Tammy,

What a handsome boy that you have! You reminded me to get some bright color cloth for Maxime, what he has now is all boring blue, grey and dark color. We need some happy color cloths for him! I have to say boys are a lot of work compared to girls. I have to go through like 4~5 outfits a day for him. I also need to change the diaper changing table cloth often. When I change him, he wets himself own with pees and poops in all directions. I am never fast enough to catch him. I am going to put him on the potty soon!

Hi Santa,

You are practically pg unless proved otherwise. Enjoy looking for all symptoms! In my 2 ww, I started to test at the 6~7th days post transfer. Are you going to do the HPT too? I got mine about $2/stick online (http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/pr ... tests.html) so I could do a lot of tests! It's the best kind tests that I have gotten. I had some false positive tests using expensive brands from drug stores.

Hi to everyone else. Need to get some work done!

Hello,
Hope everything is going OK out there. I started stims Sunday - so hormones are flying everywhere. DH has learned to keep his distance and things are going good. I had a mammogram 3 weeks ago and got a letter saying I had to go back for a "diagnostic" mammogram. Just adding to my pile of things "to do" and be stressed about. But, YEAH they found nothing and I don't have to go back for another year. Saw the high risk OB/GYN for a consult and the couse of action (once I get PG again) will be baby asprin (my RE has me on it already - so it seems the be the treatment of choice). The OB said "well since you got PG with your first IVF I don't see why it won't happen again". That was just great to hear!! I have my first RE appt. tomorrow since starting stims so we will see if the little guys are cooking !! Trying to stay positive !!

Hope everyone is doing great.

Hi Yasmina, thanks for the info. I plan to use HPT from 10 days post transfer, if I can manage to stay away from them. Your Maxime sounds like a handful, what a joy !

Tracey, best of luck to you, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. I am so sorry to ready of your mc - did they diagnose what happened, or did they put it down to just general stuff. I had a mc at 6.5 weeks with my first IVF and I was told that mc are so common it was not worth checking out why it had happened.

hugs

Thanks for the crossed fingers - can you cross your toes too??

The autopsy has the official cause of death as "intrauterine fetal demise fetal thrombotic vasculopathy". In ordinary words - my placenta had some small blood clots that prevented the baby from getting what he needed to survive. I tested negative on all the bloodwork (about 20 tests). So the high risk OB/GYN says when I am PG to treat with baby asprin and start weekly checks around week 30. Then maybe even go to checks twice a week after 35 weeks.

I know they say when you m/c around week 8 that the majority of the times it is a chromosomal abnormality which causes your body to reject the egg. Hopefully, that won't happen again. I think we all deserve to have happy healthy babies !!

Tracy, did you have a thrombophilia screen? It is where they check for things like blood clotting issues? I went for one after my mc and it came back normal.

It was one of the questions I asked my OB/GYN and he said the tests were already done (negative) and in my file. There we lots of tests - all negative. At least there is nothing major wrong with me. Just trying to take it one step at a time. Step 1 - get PG again. It is hard to keep this cycle a sceret since everyone knows we going to try right away. Everyone keeps asking "when" the procedure is - so just about everyone knows this time around. So I figure they can be happy if it goes well or they can go through the disappointment if anything happens. We have gone from having the community baby to having the community TTC.

Hi there,

This is my first time on your thread ladies, I hope you dont mind if i join in. I recognize Tammy and Santa from another board. Hi.

I am going thru my 2nd IVF, my first was canx due to overstim (40+follies). My 2nd IVF yeilded 34+ follies, I had my ER late sunday. My doc called and said that 14 of the 17 eggs fertilized, but most are fragmented. there a few that seem "okay" and he wants to wait until day 5 blast. I am so freaked out, I am flooding my brain with internet soup. Has anyone had this happen? Can the fragmented cells fix themselves? WHat does waiting for the blast do? Can one transfer fragmented cells?

Anyone hear of this? did it result in a BFP? Thanks ladies.

Hey Kat,
I am a "stalker" on the other > 40 board so I have been following you and others over there. I need to get my PMA fix daily !! As for fragmented cells - it is just the "quality" of the cells. They do not "fix" themselves, but I have heard of those who had fragmented cells getting PG. It is like a car - you don't have the cadilac of cells but you can still get to your destination. The theory behind the waiting till day 5 is that since you have so many (unlike most of us) - you might as well find out which are the strongest - those that make it to a 5 day blast and put those back. For me - I only got 4 eggs so they put them back ASAP - day 3 (theory being they may be off in the uterus then in the lab) and by day 5 I might have none left - so best take my chances with them in me. You, however, have a great opportunity to wait the extra days to weed out the stronger ones and put them back.

Don't worry - remember you only need 1 !!

Dear Tracy...You gave me some piece of mind. Thanks--- I love your car analogy. I am trying not to be sad and freaked out. Do you know if there is any way to prevent this from happening next cycle (God forbid…)? We did not do ICSI or anything else. The doc was happy with the quality of my eggs and the fact that 14 out of 17 fertilized. I am so new at all this, and I am not very good at keeping up with everyone’s cycle. I will try to do better. But I just wanted to thank you.

Take care.

Hugs to everyone …

Kat,
Thanks for your condolences. That is one reason we are trying again so soon (otherwise we would have waited longer - spending time with the little guy). We were so close. There were no signs/symptoms to suggest anything was wrong. I just want to "complete" our journey. Scott will always be our first, but we still feel the need be parents again. Scott now has the "duty" of talking to the "man upstairs" and being a big brother to his future siblings.

As for your queston: I don't think there is anything we can do to "improve" the eggs. If there was - I am sure everyone >40 would be doing it and we would not have these problems. Remember we are just Hondas now - not the Cadilac, but still good and still able to get to our destination.

I just went to the RE today and was disappointed to hear my follic count 1 at 16, 2 at 13, and 2 at 7. I am guessing the 16 will be too big by ER so we only have the 2 at 13 (my hope is that some of the 7's will get mature by ER). I was hoping that when they say you are more fertile after a PG that this would have related to more follics - guess not. My PMA is down today after this visit (trying to remind myself - we only need one !!)

Hope everyone else is doing good.

OK - feeling a little bit better - the RE called and the follics are 1 at 16 (have to ignore since will be to big at ER), 2 at 13, 1 at 10, 2 at 7. This makes me feel better that there is a 10 that could potentially catch up. Therefore, we can potentially have 3 for ER - YEAH!!

Hey everyone,
sorry i haven't been on in a while. I went back to work 2 weeks ago. Not easy working 3 12 hr midnight shifts. my body was so tired. not to mention how sick i feel. I have gotten better however. I just want to be done with the nausea. I have lost weight. I am 13 weeks now and I know I need to a least gain a couple of pounds. im sure it will come on strong in a couple of weeks and I will be saying hold on here. ha ha. I just can't stand smells. This is way tmi but I want to be able to poop without throwing up. ha ha ha. My DH and DD have had the biggest laugh with that. My dd says mom im sorry but that is priceless. My DH rigged me up a mask that you wear for TB patients with a washcloth in side, looks hilatious. Looks as if the Hazmat team in in the bathroom. I cannot believe Im telling you guys this, but I thought you might need a good laugh. They laugh at me quite often.

I had a transluceny ultrasound two weeks ago and bloodwork to look for Downs and other genetic things and the US looked perfect she said and the blood work showed 0 chance for downs. This test however is not 100 percent like the amnio, but still at first the doc said i would surely get a positive result and it would give me a 1 in say 50 for 100 or whatever, and it said 0, so that was very exciting. i am having it done again in 3 weeks. this time they will measure the femur and the fingers to look for downs. Hope that looks good too. they measured the back of the neck last time.

How many weeks were you guys when they could determine the sex of the baby? The girls in my dept have been doing us on me once a week and they couldnt tell yet at 13 weeks. Im dying to find out. Im getting excited now. I found it hard to get excited affraid of miscarriage.

Oh and if any of you were on progesterone when did you stop? I stopped at 12 weeks. i hope thats ok.

Tammy, that little boy is so darn cute. How are you doing? looks like you had a great time at Disney.

Catharine how is that sweet DD doing? have you decided on more yet?

yasmina, sounds like you and ds are doing great. DD is a great big sister.

tracy, how are you?

Sorry if I missed anyone. hope all are doing well. welcome to the new people. i have got to get on more often now that i am feeling a little better. take care
