AK, any news? Like i said, you are lucky to have so many that they can push you to blast transfer.

Suzanne, that is awesome news. I am no doc but i would also be more concerned with what it going inside the sac. Since both are on target with size and they both have fast HBs, i think the "little squirts" are keepers!!!

Missy, 17 dpo your beta is very good. It is much higher than the average for a single baby and a little higher than average for twins. Hopefully you will have twins too. Check out http://www.betabase.info/betafacts.php to compare you beta to others. What was number 2?

Tammy, maybe you did O early but kind of unusual. How are the OPKs coming this time?

Sue, are you going to POAS?

Santa, your first beta is next Thursday? I think it is wise to prepare for the worst but hope for the best too. Not as painful if it doesn't pan out. Are you going to POAS?

Kat, what's up? How many of the eggs were mature, fertilized etc?

Lynnie, good luck on the amnio tomorrow. Are you going to get the FISH results first or just wait until the final report? HUGS and PRAYERS!!!

Sisi, you are getting so close.

njurga, any sign of AF? Do you know what protocol you will be on?

NY, Hil and hopefu,l any news?

Waving hello to the rest of you. Let me know where is messed up please.

Hi Ladies...Still Cycling, but I can feel AF is on her way! Yipee!! I have No idea what protocal were going to use. I have really no clue bout any of this except for the bits and pieces I get online and such. So as I get into it I'll be able to give u ladies more input!!
After my cycle day 3 us/bloodwork will they create a plan for me? Whats next after that? I know my chances with my own eggs are slim but the doctor insists on trying this first. If the chances are so slim why does he even want to bother? Is it the $$?

Kat: Just take a deep breath sweetie and relax!! Lets do it together...ready? Go!! See all better!

Suzanne~congrats on two healthy heartbeats! What super news.

Missy~congrats on your strong second beta.

Kat~15 out of 17 is terrific for fertilization! wow. You are the 25 year-old over 40! (maybe you caught it from your young hubby!)

Kelly~nope not going to POAS. That would just make me more nuts.

I am struggling in the 2WW. This process is so exhausting. Santa--I totally know what you mean. For my first IVF I tried to not get too excited so I wouldn't be disappointed. But unfortunately I felt devastated by my BFN even after preparing myself for the worst. The second time I was really positive and convinced I was pregnant. The BFN was just as devastating. I think no matter how we prepare--a BFN is devastating.

This time I've been trying to stay positive and hopeful--but it's hard cause I am so exhausted from the process and the disappointment of infertility in general. My accupuncturist gave me The Secret DVD to watch and I tried the technique for a while. I have been visualizing having twins! but honestly--all this mental energy is exhausting me too and lately I just feel a bit numb and am trying not to think about anything at all. Now The Secret kinda haunts me cause every time doubts come into my head I feel like Im sealing my doom!

I am not feeling very many symptoms. I am hoping this is a good thing as last time when I was convinced I was pregnant--I had every symptom in the book--but I wasn't pregnant! it's odd cause my boobs aren't even aching this time. I do feel mild AF like cramps occasionally. And I am sleepy. But that's about it.

njsurga...I can only speak from my own experience and due to my age (41) they put me on a poor responder drug protocol. Once I went in for my Day 3 bloodwork and ultrasound, they gave me a drug protocol and I started that night...I took drugs for 5 days and then back in for an ultrasound and blood work. From there it is day to day until they saw the optimal time for retrieval which was about 3-4 days later. I live in Canada so things are likely quite different but the nice thing was it all worked out like a normally montly cycle. When I thought my period was due was when I took an HPT and the next day was my beta test.

Hope this helps a bit anyway!

Good luck,

Missy

Kat: Try not to worry. Some fragmentation for embies is normal. As my RE said, some of ugliest embies make a beautiful baby.

Kelly: My cycle length is between 24-32 days. So having a 25 day cycle like I did last month is not abnormal for me. That is why it is difficult since my cycles vary in length. I am on cycle day 12 and so far ovulation has not been detected. I started noticing the change in cervical mucous 2 days ago.

Missy: That is wonderful news on your 2nd beta.

SueQiwi: Good luck on your 2ww.

Hello,

Sue I am not feeling any symptoms either, but worryingly I had sore boobs and a slight cramping sort of where I imagine my ovaries to be from time to time a few days ago, now those symptoms have disappeared. I am very very bloated though I think this is from the progesterone, I look about 5 months pregnant, wouldn;t it be nice if it were something other than gas !

Missy, great beta, excellent news !

thanks Kelly for keeping the list up to date

Still no word from the doc, I guess no news is good news right? he said he'd call either today or tomorrow and let me know if any of them make it to blast. I am trying not to think about it, yah right, so for now, I am trying to prepare myself for bad news. I wish i wish you SUE Q I bet the 2ww is hellish...

I will let you know what I learn.

Missy, i updated you above.

Kat, no news is good news in my book. I bet you will have several blasts.

Tammy, that sucks having such a variable follicular phase. It sure makes figuring out when you are going to O hard. I guess you will just have to have sex every other day all month long. I am sure you husband won't complain too much.

nj, i don't know what to tell you. Maybe your doc is hoping you are a freakishly good responder for your age. The 44 year old version of Kat. You both are cougars so maybe he is right. No way to know without giving it 1 shot with your own eggs. It is a bit unorthodox though. Most docs would be pushing donor eggs for sure. Good Luck.

Lynnie, how did the amnio go? When do you get results?

Sue and Santa, good luck on your betas next week.

Renee, hang in there.

Waving hello to the rest of you.

 nj... I'll just provide you with the information I received from more than one RE... based on findings re: the quality of women's eggs after age 42, it is likely that pregnancies subsequent to that age are a result of donor eggs... my opinion, if you can swing one cycle financially with your own eggs, and another with donor eggs, give it a shot... why not?... but remember, it's quality, not quantity (at least that's what the RE's kept stressing)... as far as getting pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy, the RE's didn't seem as concerned with age - it was always "the egg thing"... believe me, I wish you the best with your own eggs, but I don't want to see you waste your money if your doc's advice is out of synch with most findings.

Hi all!!!!

And thanks Kelly for not forgetting about me!!! Unfortunately, until today I have had no news to report and have just been growing increasingly frustrated by the fact that it took 7 weeks for me to get my period back after doing 2 back to back cycles of IVF/injectables. Anyway, I FINALLY ovulated (or at least the OPK turned color)!!! So hopefully there will be some baby making the old fashioned way in our house tonight. :-)

However, I am scared and my clock is ticking so I also just called to schedule an appointment to start another IVF cycle.......I am guessing I will start taking estradiol the 15th of March and start stimming in April.

So, while nothing much has been going on with my reproductive system-- it seems like you all have been quite busy producing lots of eggs!!!! Geez! This board is looking like a 30 something board with all the pregnancies and egg production!! Yay!!!

Lynn, I am thinking about you and hoping that you get your results back quickly and more importantly that everything is fine with your little one!!! I cannot believe the roller coaster ride that you have been on... I cannot even imagine the stress of having to wait--AGAIN!!!!! Hopefully, this will be the final scare!!!!!!! Big hug to you!!!!!

Tammy, I totally FEEL your frustration of an unpredictable cycle! Argh!!!!!

Kelly, Thank you for keeping track of us all and for sharing your knowledge. I really wish you were my RE.

Well I better get back to work...

Big hug to all you ladies!

Suzanne..Thanks so much for your input. I know my chances are slim. My insurance pays for like 5 attemps and even pays for donor meds and costs. So I guess he figures what the heck! Thanks so much!

Kelly: I hope my doc thinks I have freakishly young eggs like Kat....Maybe I'll just make it...someone has to be that 5% right? I hope it's me...LOL

I'm spotting now so I should get AF on Saturday and hopefully have my first ultra sound on Monday!! What will they be looking for? I'm sure my bloodwork they will check my FSH right?

Kat: U have made it this far relax and wait it out, I know it's hard! Good luck sweetie!!

Tammy: I'm with Kelly...Have fun!!

Missy: Thanks for the advice...U girls are wonderful!!!!
