Wow, lots of action. You are busy for a bunch of old ladies. I will revise the list this week after the 2 betas are in. So Kat, i just edited you info. on the old list. I can't believe that everybody in the group is going to be back on the CRAZY TRAIN. What a bunch of addicts.
Kat, told you so.
Biddy, how many follies to you have cooking? How is this cycle working in comparison to your past ER?
Sisi, i know you are scheduled to start stims on 3/9 but do you have an ultrasound to check for cysts before then? If so, make sure you get a baseline follie count. I find it interesting to see how many follies people start with vs. how many follies they go into ER with vs. how many eggs retrieved. Everybody, but me that is, seems to have a lot of follies pop up that were not seen at their baseline scan and more eggs than predicted based on follie size at time of trigger. I am just one of those very lucky ladies that have neither. So if you end up being like me, just keep reminding yourself that quality not quantity is what matters in the end.
Lynnie, i am so glad the procedure went well. I didn't want to say anything before hand but my amnio hurt like HELL. I have a high pain tolerance too. I really think i was just a fluke though as most women say that it isn't bad at all.
nj, i am telling you, that insurance is a good enough reason to up and move to NJ. I have not heard of any other IVF coverage as good as that. You are so very, very lucky. Isn't that just like AF. You can't count on her to act right ever.
Kris, Woo Hoo!! So you will be starting stims this month too? That makes 3-4 of us starting stims this month. So you are doing antagonist with estrogen priming? That is what i am doing and several others have done or are doing. It works well. The good news is that you already know you body can do the pregnancy thing. Like you said, it is just a matter of finding one of that elusive "golden egg".
Tammy, i know as
Andrew gets older your yearning for another is intensifying because i am right there with you. Liam will be 2 years and 4 months this week. Damn, i don't want him to grow up. He may be the only baby i ever have. I want it to last forever. I am crying just posting this.
Now to my thoughts on IVF at 44/45. If money is absolutely no object or you have insurance to cover it then i say go for it. You pay out of pocket, so is money a consideration? If so, here are some things to consider. You almost certainly will be unsuccessful with your own eggs. Then, are you going to go on to donor eggs? Donor eggs are not always a one shot deal either. With CGH they have determined that the majority of donor eggs are genetically abnormal too. Something like 60% are chromosomally abnormal and will not make a baby. So you may not be successful on your first shot with donor eggs either. That means it may take you 3 cycles before you have success. Are you up to that emotionally and finacially? Also, how much time do you want to spend on this? Do you have a preference on the spacing between children? If the sooner the better, then again i would suggest going straight to donor eggs.
I hope you know me well enough by now that you know i am just being honest. I am not trying to hurt you although i am sure i have. I am just being realistic. I know you have thought about adoption and donor eggs. In my opinion, donor eggs will probably give you a child faster, easier and probably cheaper than adoption. Just my 2 cents.
Again, good luck to
Sue and
Santa this week. FX for good solid betas for you both!!
Suzanne, i hope double and trouble are not sucking the life out of you.
Missy, how are your twins treating you? I know you have not had the US yet but that is my prediction.
Aloha
Renne.
Waving hello to everybody and sorry if i missed anyone.
HUGS, Kelly
