Waiting

Post by Wondercat »

Is anybody else waiting right now until they get tested? I had 2 blastos transferred 2/23, waiting for my blood test on 3/7. This is our third try with IVF - my first time posting on a message board. The first two did not work. It's just so isolating, I don't have anybody in my life who "gets it." Well, I have one friend who has done fertility treatments. She has 2-year-old twins from IUI and is expecting another set of twins in May from her very first IVF cycle - so I should amend that to nobody who gets what it's like to have gone through all this before with nothing to show for it.

The last two times I tortured myself doing HPT's, and I really don't want to do that again but it's so hard not to. I guess I just want to hear from somebody else who relates that I'm not a crazy loon. :)

Hello All,

I have been reading this forum for the last week which has helped me get through the 2WW, which has been hard. I decided it was time for me to post. I had my ET on 2/13 and my first BETA is tommorrow. I broke down and took a HPT on Sunday and it was Positive! My trigger shot was on 2/11. I am trying to contain my happiness until my BETA results come back as I know that is the 100% confirmation. The 2WW has been really LONG and being that this is my first cycle with IVF I have limited knowlede of what to expect and when.

I want to say thank you to all of you on this forum as you have provided me with support, knowledge and comfort over the last week without even knowing it. I have you all in my thougths and prayers and hope for all positve results.

*sorry I don't know all the lingo yet :)

Ladies, i was just checking up on To Have Fun and feel i have to leave a message for someone

Tabatha i am the person To Have FUn spoke about regarding the reaction to Lupron.... Its very rare but i had redness after my first Lupron shot. The next day i had another in the morning and by my evening shot i had developed hives over my legs and arms. Of course i was Thanksgiving day that day(typical) so i decided to risk it and just do one more shot ... well next day i was COVERED in HUGE hives from the lupron and felt red hot. My RE sent me straight to ER and by this time i was finding it harder to breathe.

I had iv fluids, iv medrol as well as 2 sets of anti itch and steroids. I was pretty sick... However after a couple of hours on IV meds, they had faded and i was 80% better. I'm not trying to scare you but i posted a question about this reaction on this site and no one else had ever had this. My RE has also never seen this reaction, and i've never been allergic to anything else, but i went from red and minor hives to huge hives all over my body and breathing difficulties in 24 hours. One hive was measured in ER and i think it was like 6 inches diameter (they were about one inch hours earlier)...

So, call you RE and maybe even go to ER if you have noticable hives, they dont go away... my diagnosis was erythema minor to major and its a chain reaction in your body and wont just go away if you stop the meds....

On a lighter note, in 48 hours i was 99% better and i continued my cycle just using menopur only, nothing else and i got more eggs and better eggs than my previous cycle. i had an egg split after transfer, and i am now pregnant with 4 so dont be discouraged...even after this reaction, this was my best cycle ever!!! Good luck and PM me if you need to

I had my dr. appt this morning with my regular ob, which was nice just to get it out of the way, lots of paperwork and stuff. Besides that not much else. She gave me 8 different prenatal vitamins to try out, I have no idea which ones I should take, does anyone have any suggestions? Also she told us we needed to start thinking if we wanted to have genetic testing done, by our next appt in 4 weeks we need to decide. Any thoughts ladies? And last but certainly not least, she does want us to have a gestational age ultrasound done tomorrow morning just so she has it in her records, which is great news for me because I want to know how many little ones are in there. I know it may be too early to see a heartbeat ( i will be 6 weeks on thursday) but I could atleast tell if there are 2 sacks right?

SueQiwi - Congrats on your BFP!!! That's awesome!

Lady_J - Thanks for sharing your story. We don't judge as everyone has their own things they regret.

AFM, had b/w & sono this morning - lining is at 8mm. They said that's good though I have no idea. I have to go back again for b/w & sono on Sunday morning and then a suture on Monday morning with my target transfer date still being Friday the 13th. Has anyone had to get this suture done? I know I had this on my IVF cycle but I was under anethesia then and didn't feel it.

Well Ladies... I am officially PUPO!!! Yipee. I had my ET this morning... and my embies were BEAUTIFUL. They tranferred 2 blasts that had hatched already... the third was also a blast and 4th was slower but hopefully these 2 will make it to freeze. I will know by tomorrow. Everyone at the clinic seemed positive about it. The nurse that assisted said that these were alot more better quality than the last time, so I am so Happy Happy Happy. My Beta is next week on Mar. 12th. I was hoping to tranfer 3 but the RE was against it. :( He said that I am a heavy girl and if all 3 stick then I would be at high risk, blah blah blah. Well, I hope and pray that these 2 will stick, so ladies, please send me your sticky dust.

CAfirstinvitro... So how did your ET go? When is Beta? I hope things went well.

Rosario... Congrats on your new car. And the yaris is a nice car. U go girl.

Hopeful.. Congrats on your Positive HPT. Good Luck tomorrow.

Wondercat... Congrats on ET. Hope u get your BFP this cycle. Third time's a charm... It sucks to have a failed IVF and to see alot of ladies get their BFP the first time. it makes me envious of them, but I figured, eventually my time will come. Good Luck to you hun.

Well I had my u/s and they only saw one sack and the yolk sack. They said it was too soon to see a baby yet, which i have heard also. I will be 6 weeks on thursday so i was hoping they might but that's ok. I was hoping for twins too but I am so happy to just have a baby i am ok with wahtever i can have. Had any of you seen a fetus at 5 weeks or just the sack? They said the yolk sack is there and it looks good, but i like to hear it from other people that are going throigh it also.
