TTC naturally with severe endo after one baby thru IVF...?

Post by Ems1971 »

Just wondered if there are any success stories around of ladies with endometriosis who have had successful IVF then gone on to conceive naturally second time around. I have a 16 month old girl who was born after second IVF was successful and after 6 years. I have (had) severe endo but hear so many stories that the best "cure" for endo is to have a baby, it kind of sorts your system out apparently.

I've been taking the pill constantly since my daughter was born to keep any endo under control but decided to come off it last weekend to see what happens as we'd love another baby, but don't necessarily want to do IVF again. We know we are completely blessed with our little girl, as we never thought we would have her, so if its not to be its not to be. But it would be nice!

Anyone had success?

Hi Ems!
Good News! :)
We are expecting our little boy in just 3 short months and he was conceived naturally after our daughter, Anna, was born. We got pregnant on our second try at IVF. I had endo and had surgery to remove it about 6 months before we started the IVF process. According to the Dr. I had stage three endo. I did not go on the pill after our daughter was born though. I knew I wanted to try right away to have another. Dh and I had a deal that we would try the old fashioned way until Anna turned one, and then we would go back to IVF. We started trying when she was about 4 months old and a few days before she turned 7 months I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!! Talk about shock! After three and a half long years of trying to conceive Anna, it only took 3 months for this one! They will be 16 months apart.

So, it can happen!! good luck!!
Jenn

Fantastic news! Congratulations! I bet that was a shock, but a lovely one at that.

I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed!
